Re: [JAWS-Users] Outlook Express and Attachments
Hi David, I didn't know that. The young man that set up my computer has my computer set up so he can view my computer from his house and he found the problem. He is the one that sent the reply in case anyone else ran into the same type of problem. I don't think I would have ever figured it out. - Original Message - From: "David Ferrin" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Friday, March 21, 2008 8:13 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Outlook Express and Attachments I knew that, but I didn't know that you knew it, hence forth the reason I asked. Re: [JAWS-Users] balloon pop up messages
Hi there Lenard Below is some information shared with the group a while back. I'm not sure if this is what you are seeking, but here goes Hello list. Here are instructions for installing and getting the help balloon script to work. this script will make it possible to click help balloons wit one keystroke in versions of jaws prior to jaws nine. Everything below the stars is the script itself. First, select the entire script text and copy it to the clipboard. Then, hit insert f2 and bring up script manager.Once script manager opens, press control shift d to bring up the default script file. Then move to the bottom of it with control end. then, hit enter once or twice to make sure your on a blank line,,and paste the contents of the script. Then move into the body of the script and hit control d. Once you do, a script information dialogue box will appear. Tab through it and fill in the various fields, leaving the script name box intact. You can fill in the synopsis and description fields if you wish. Make sure the can be attached to key checkbox is checked. You can use any keystroke you wish that won't conflict with another keystroke. I used control shift l myself. Then click ok and hit control s to recompile the default script file, and use alt f4 to close the dialogue. After that, when a help balloon appears, you should be able to use the keystroke you assigned to click it. If anyone needs any further help, feel free to let me know, either on list or privately. The scrip follows. Hope this was helpful. ** Script clickhelpballoon () Var String SClass, ; The name of the window class. String SName, ; The name of the window. Handle HWND ; The handle of the current window. Let SClass = GetWindowClass (GetFirstWindow (FindTopLevelWindow ("Shell_TrayWnd", ""))) Let SName = GetWindowName (GetFirstWindow (FindTopLevelWindow ("Shell_TrayWnd", ""))) Let HWND = GetFocus () GetFocus () If SClass == "tooltips_class32" & SName != "" then ; Click the balloon. SetFocus (GetFirstWindow (FindTopLevelWindow ("Shell_TrayWnd", ""))) SaveCursor () RouteJAWSToPc () RoutePcToJAWS () {LeftMouseButton} SetFocus (HWND) ; Return the focus to its previous window. Re: [JAWS-Users] Outlook Express and Attachments
Hi, This happens to me all the time too. Most of the lists I am subscribed to strip attachments nevertheless they are consistently announced as being there by Jaws. Just now I am using Jaws 7 with XP Home but it was also happening with XP Pro on my other machine. This goes back to at least Jaws 5 and quite possibly earlier. There is probably something in the Jaws script which does this, a colour recognition or something. Although a nuisance I haven't bothered to crawl about through the script to see if I can identify it. Not so sure I would recognize the offending code if I saw it anyway. - Original Message - From: "Mike & Barbara Brunner" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Friday, March 21, 2008 9:45 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Outlook Express and Attachments > Hi David, > > That's the problem. Re: [JAWS-Users] Outlook Express and Attachments
Hi David, AVG Anti-Virus will do that if you have it configured to "certify" incoming email. When AVG certifies incoming mail, it causes Outlook Express to see the certification as an attachment. If you have AVG, open the Control Center, click on "Email Scanner" then at the bottom, click on the Properties button. In the Window that opens, click on the Configure button. Uncheck "Certify Mail" under "Check Incoming Mail." Click OK and OK again, close the Control Center. - Original Message - From: "David Ferrin" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Friday, March 21, 2008 7:06 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Outlook Express and Attachments What anti virus program are you using? Re: [JAWS-Users] Outlook Express and Attachments
Hi David, That's the problem. It's going out as a regular Email but, when I get it back Jaws says attachment and there isn't one. I always put our name in the TO column and everybody else in the BCC field. Either way I do it, our Email address in the TO field or in the BCC field when we receive the Email Jaws reads attachment. It's an annoyance more than anything. Thanks. Re: [JAWS-Users] DecTalk Express question
It can, For a time I did have mine running that way but some how after ai had to do a Jaws repair I didn't get it working again. I have a low tolerance though for mucking about with these darn machines when they don't perform in expected ways. I found it particularly useful when on For-the-people to have the Jaws announcements through the Dec Express, inevitably Jaws is much louder than the speakers on the site so separating the two is nice. - Original Message - From: "David Ferrin" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Friday, March 21, 2008 5:42 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] DecTalk Express question > Interesting, I'd like to know that myself being the owner of an original > unit for many years. > David Ferrin > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > - Original Message - > From: "Alex Stone" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: "'Shannon'" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; > > Sent: Friday, March 21, 2008 5:33 PM > Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] DecTalk Express question > > >> Shannon, I thought I'd read somewhere that it could, but I've never done >> it >> myself so I don't really know. >> Cheers. >> Alex >> >> -Original Message- >> From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] >> [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Shannon >> Sent: 21 March 2008 21:25 >> To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com >> Subject: [JAWS-Users] DecTalk Express question >> >> Hi, can the external original DecTalk express be used with a USB to >> serial >> converter? >> Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: >> http://www.jaws-users.com >> Address for the list archives: >> http://www.mail-archive.com/jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com >> To post to this group, send email to >> jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com >> To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to >> [EMAIL PROTECTED] >> For help from Mailman with your account Put the word help in the subject >> or >> body of a blank message to: >> [EMAIL PROTECTED] >> Use the following form in order to contact the management team >> http://www.jaws-users.com/managers.php >> If you wish to join the Blind Computing list send a blank email to the >> following address: >> [EMAIL PROTECTED] >> >> >> >> Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: >> http://www.jaws-users.com >> Address for the list archives: >> http://www.mail-archive.com/jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com >> To post to this group, send email to >> jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com >> To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to >> [EMAIL PROTECTED] >> For help from Mailman with your account Put the word help in the subject >> or body of a blank message to: >> [EMAIL PROTECTED] >> Use the following form in order to contact the management team >> http://www.jaws-users.com/managers.php >> If you wish to join the Blind Computing list send a blank email to the >> following address: >> [EMAIL PROTECTED] >> >> > > > Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: > http://www.jaws-users.com > Address for the list archives: > http://www.mail-archive.com/jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com > To post to this group, send email to > jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com > To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > For help from Mailman with your account Put the word help in the subject > or body of a blank message to: > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Use the following form in order to contact the management team > http://www.jaws-users.com/managers.php > If you wish to join the Blind Computing list send a blank email to the > following address: > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > > > > -- > No virus found in this incoming message. > Checked by AVG. > Version: 7.5.519 / Virus Database: 269.21.7/1335 - Release Date: 3/19/2008 > 9:54 AM > > Visit the JAWS Users List home page at: http://www.jaws-users.com Address for the list archives: http://www.mail-archive.com/jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com To post to this group, send email to jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] For help from Mailman with your account Put the word help in the subject or body of a blank message to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Use the following form in order to contact the management team http://www.jaws-users.com/managers.php If you wish to join the Blind Computing list send a blank email to the following address: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I'm wondering if you'll be including a set of keystrokes for laptops in the help files? This would sure come in handy for those who use GoldWave on a laptop. Any idea if this will happen? sure! it will, I forgot doing it, you can do it on your own, open the Goldwave.jkm file in notepad or scriptmanager, delete the line that says: [desktop keys] then it remains [common keys], and works with both! hth, and thanks for writing, our payment is that you use the scripts, send feedbacks, suggestions or at leaste say "Thanks"! Re: [JAWS-Users] File notification
Hi Steve, I tried your instruction here, but I'm afraid it's not very clear. I went to My Computer, then alt V to View menu, then down to List, and it says "list check." I can't seem to find where to press Alt + 6 six times. What do you mean by "get the dialogue on screen?" What dialogue is this for example? Thank you. Re: [JAWS-Users] User account scripts
Hello Patti, The scripts make fully accessible the user acounts section in xp control panel. In fact, they present the different options using a web interface as if you were viewing it using internet explorer. Without the scripts, you would use the jaws cursor to view all the options in the dialogue. From the user acounts dialogue you can create and manage the users on the computer.
