[JAWS-Users] Mail merge.

2008-05-15 Thread Reese
Hi list:

Does anyone know how to perform a mail merge using word 2003 with jaws? I
have an address list within excel that I would like to do a mail merge with.
A sighted friend was trying to help me with this over the phone, however,
jaws wasn't reading what she had on her screen.

Chris,

When installing avast, does it take a little while for it to load in? When I

Hi, you can use the free version of AVG 8, but not without first unloading
JAWS, starting the AVG User Interface, then reloading JAWS. My advice to
 you
would be to try another antivirus, particularly Avast. Very accessible
 once
set up, not as sluggish as AVG, and doesn't crash with JAWS. The Home
Edition is free, and you can get it from www.avast.com. Hope that helps.

 Hi,

Can someone clarify this? I have used 7.5 of avg free version so can I
 use
version 8 free? I did not see anything about their saying you have to
 have
a paid version installed. That wouldn't make much sense if they have a
purchase version and then a free version which would not be free in
 my
circumstances so I would just buy the 8 version.

Hmm. Actually yesterday I upgraded to AVG 8, if you alt tab right after
pressing enter on the open user interface thing it's fine. I love AVG 8!

He said you can still download the version 7.50 up till June. As I have
 to
do that in order to ativate the paid version so I called them to
 inquire
regarding that matter and asked them regarding the rest of it for
 screen
readers. The man I spoke to seemed very aware of the issue with screen
readers and that AVG is doing all to resolve that issue hopefully by
12/31/08 this is for version 8.

But if you want to still get the version 7.50 you can but it will only
 be
available till June and it will only be supported if it's the paid
 version.

We called AVG today and was told that by December 31, they hope to
 have
 a
fix for version 8 regarding users with screen readers.
In the meantime, they said version 7.50 the paid version will still
 be
 supported.

In the meantime, they said version 7.50 the paid version will still
  be
  supported.

I've just added complete instructions for performing a mail merge under
the office heading. Also the directions for making avast more accessible
 as well.

The problem is with the Verizon email server, not your instance of OE (or

 Hi list:

Does anyone know how to perform a mail merge using word 2003 with jaws? I
have an address list within excel that I would like to do a mail merge
 with.
A sighted friend was trying to help me with this over the phone, however,
jaws wasn't reading what she had on her screen.

Re: [JAWS-Users] outlook express / windows mail

2008-05-15 Thread Kevin Chao
Lenny,

Unless Iam mistaken, I believe that Windows Live Mail is the Outlook Express
version for Vista. I am using Outlook 2003 and it works great. The thing I
liek about Outlook as compared to Express that there is the calendar, ttask
and all of the other features included.

Hello, I have been having some problems with outlook express causing all of
my messages to verizon users to be flagged as spam. This problem had
happened a few months ago. With that stated I will be looking for a new
email client that works well with jaws. I am using xp home sp3 and the
latest release of jaws 9. Has anyone used windows mail with xp and jaws 9?
