Yes. I get this in Windows Mail under Vista Home Premium SP1 with this new
beta. This didn't happen with beta 1. Think I'll go and report this. By the
way this is with absolutely nothing on the clipboard.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Clipboard Content in Beta 2

 Hi All,

I never got around to trying the new Windows key plus Insert plus X to
 read
the contents of the clipboard in the first Beta of JAWS 10 and gave it a
 try
with Beta 2 and encountered something strange in
OE 6 after I tried it. The keystroke seems to work, but, now when I
 compose
a new message and hit escape, JAWS says virtual cursor and I'm not asked
if I want to save the message and I'm still in the message body. I have
 to
hit alt-F and close to get out of the message body and get the prompt
 asking
me if I want to save the message.

The OS is XP Home with SP2 and IE 7.

 Can anyone duplicate this?

 Thanks,

 Margaret

[JAWS-Users] Jaws repeating

2008-09-26 Thread Larry Stansifer
Hi Folks,

I know-I know FS has been in love with this repeating issue since version
4.x or there a bouts and they just keep including it in all subsequent
releases.
The bad news is it's seems to be getting worse.
I am running windows XP-pro and Office-XP on one machine and Windows XP-pro
and office-2003 on my laptop and the issue is present on both machines.
Any time I tab between open documents Jaws will begin repeating whatever
cell, message header or passage of text it lands on.
I am using Jaws 8.latest and I also have 9.latest installed on both machines
and if anything it seems to be more pronounced with Jaws 9. I am aware that
Control or Escape will shut it up that however is not the point. The
objective is to prevent it from occurring in the first place.
I am open to any ideas, solutions, suggestions or incantations that will
work.

I would use Super Antispyware as it's fully accessible without scripts.
 www.superantispyware.com is the URL.

[JAWS-Users] JAWS 10 and custmer support

2008-09-26 Thread First CRC Tom Vos
We all have frustrations with software, but I want to write a note of
appreciation for Freedom Scientific's work on JAWS 10.
I had an issue with JAWS 9 not reading parts of an MS Access data base.
JAWS 10 beta release 1 addressed part of it, but not all, so I sent in a
report.
I received a phone call from one of the programmers. He asked me to send
him the data base (a custome design). Then he called me back and we
talked through a few steps until he had JAWS working correctly with it.
The latest release for the beta version is reading everything in the data
base.
I'm sure there are few software developers who give attention to that
kind of customer support.
Blessings,
Tom

 Hi:

I wonder if very many ad-ons work with 3.02? My husband has still
 not upgraded
to 3.0 because the ad-ons he uses are not supported. If you have
 ad-ons make
sure they are compatible with the version you upgrade too.

Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws 10 public beta 2

2008-09-26 Thread Flor Lynch
I believe it will, in that it is possible to select a different card type.
Any other difficulties pertaining to such a change would then be within
iTunes itself and not JAWS.

However, I have the problem that I can't create an iTunes account using
JAWS10, beta 2. JAWS isn't reading the edit fields (if that is what they
are) and this is when the virtual cursor switches back to the PC cursor (for
whatever reasons) during the creating account process. . I didn't use beta
1; but JAWS9.02169 seemed to handle the account creation process a little
bit better.

We're supposed to be seeing it some time this week or next or something.
thing is that just b/c they say something like Oh yeah, it's supposed to
 be
out in the next couple weeks doesn't mean that they should be held to it
 as
if it were set in stone. Just know that it's close, regardless of when it
actually does come out. In short, asking this question of all of us
 listers
really doesn't get anyone anywhere b/c none of us really has the inside
scoop on when this comes out. And no, unfortunately, there aren't any FS
employees on here with the inside scoop, and besides, if there were, they
wouldn't come right out and say anything different from what we've heard
 anyway.

I would use Super Antispyware as it's fully accessible without scripts.
 www.superantispyware.com is the URL.

[JAWS-Users] more on JAWS and iTunes accessibility

2008-09-26 Thread Flor Lynch
Bruce Toews forwarded the following to another list or more, so, sorry to
those who have seen this elsewhere. It is useful information. I have now
managed to successfully create an iTunes account using JAWS9, with the help
of the relevant itunes.jcf (mentioned). He writes:

I thought I would include the following on JAWS and I-Tunes
accessibility, taken from the JAWS What's New file. FS wants word about
this spread. It includes a link to instructions on making JAWS 9 and 8
I-Tunes accessible.

From the What's New Page on JAWS 10:
iTunes 8 Support
JAWS now provides access to iTunes® 8, including support for the iTunes
Store. Using the virtual cursor, you can browse and search the store for
all content, including music, movies, TV shows, and educational content.
Purchasing individual tracks or full albums is now accessible.

JAWS 9 and JAWS 8 users can refer to Technical Support Notice - Which
JAWS releases support iTunes 8? for a brief set of instructions
describing how to configure JAWS for use with iTunes 8.

I agree. The account creation process isn't brilliantly accessible. I don't
understand what the numbered links mean either. I'm not bothered, I just
wanted to test it out.

I believe it will, in that it is possible to select a different card type.
Any other difficulties pertaining to such a change would then be within
 iTunes itself and not JAWS.

However, I have the problem that I can't create an iTunes account using
JAWS10, beta 2. JAWS isn't reading the edit fields (if that is what they
are) and this is when the virtual cursor switches back to the PC cursor
 (for
whatever reasons) during the creating account process. . I didn't use
 beta
1; but JAWS9.02169 seemed to handle the account creation process a little
 bit better.

thing is that just b/c they say something like Oh yeah, it's supposed to
 be

 as

 it
actually does come out. In short, asking this question of all of us

really doesn't get anyone anywhere b/c none of us really has the inside

Subject: [JAWS-Users] JAWS 10 and custmer support

 Blessings,
 Tom

I am impressed to say the least my friend. Where did you learn
that little
trick? Also there is a program on the server called clip clear
that does
 the
same thing, but before it came out your idea was the preferred
method.

 To clear the clipboard
Go to the run box. Window Key + R.
Type in clipbrd and press enter.
 Alt + e for edit
arrow down to delete and enter
Alt y for yes to clear the clipboard.

 I hope this helps.

Re: [JAWS-Users] jaws 10 public beta 2

2008-09-26 Thread Flor Lynch
Well, I have by now successfully created an iTunes account, with the use of
the itunes.jcf pasted into JAWS9 settings. There are still some hairy
parts, but switching the Screen Echo to All seems to help. Also, in the
account creating, I made use of my braille display (BrailleNote) hwere JAWS
was not speaking the information so that i could know where to type my
telephone number, add address details like county, town, etc. The telephone
number appears to have two fields (or at least it does in my part of the
world - rather unusual, that) - the area prefix, and then the remaining
number. That tripped me up with an error until I figured it out. We are
often switching betwwwn PC cursor and virtual cursor while in the same
dialogue. Where it says 'link' the vurtual cursor holds sway; but where
it's an edit area just the PC cursor. I've listened to some podcasts.

 (for
whatever reasons) during the creating account process. . I didn't use
 beta
1; but JAWS9.02169 seemed to handle the account creation process a little
 bit better.

We're supposed to be seeing it some time this week or next or something.
thing is that just b/c they say something like Oh yeah, it's supposed to
 be
out in the next couple weeks doesn't mean that they should be held to it
 as
if it were set in stone. Just know that it's close, regardless of when
 it
actually does come out. In short, asking this question of all of us
 listers
really doesn't get anyone anywhere b/c none of us really has the inside
scoop on when this comes out. And no, unfortunately, there aren't any FS
employees on here with the inside scoop, and besides, if there were, they
wouldn't come right out and say anything different from what we've heard
 anyway.

[JAWS-Users] Repeating subject line

2008-09-26 Thread Maria Campbell
I'm using JAWS10 with the new update.
In Outlook Express, messages now start reading automatically upon opening
them, but the subject line repeats twice, tending to get on one's nerves
after a while.
However, this is an improvement, as messages didn't start reading at all
previously.

Yes, windows key + jaws key + f4. It will not ask for confirmation, and if
you have a pc speak er you will get a small beep.

Is there still a keystroke sequence that shuts JAWS down and completely
removes it from memory? I'm not speaking of JAWS key+f4, but rather
 another
 key sequence.

Re: [JAWS-Users] selecting text

2008-09-26 Thread Carlene Knight
Shift control end. That will highlight the text from the cursor to the end of
the document and you can do whatever you want with it.

Hi all,
Is there a way to select text from say, the middle of a document right to

If so, how do you do it?

Re: [JAWS-Users] Repeating subject line

2008-09-26 Thread Donald Marang
That's odd! I have had the exact opposite problem! In the last 24
hours, JAWS 10 beta 2 stopped reading the subject line altogether when
reading a
message in Windows Mail on Vista. I do not know any way to have it say this
again other than go back to version 9. I have reported this to FS.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Repeating subject line

I'm using JAWS10 with the new update.
In Outlook Express, messages now start reading automatically upon opening
them, but the subject line repeats twice, tending to get on one's nerves
 after a while.
However, this is an improvement, as messages didn't start reading at all
 previously.
