[JAWS-Users] *( REPEATING SIGN IN-ALERT OF MSN MESSENGER)*

2008-10-10 Thread mostafa almahdy
good morning folks:
i'd like to post that issue in the list to discuss.
it's match with an the previous topic that we talked about:
laptop keystroke with JAWS registered
it's an keystroke of JAWS feature: & it's not necessary for people who
are not regular users of msn messenger.
actually it's:
repeating the sign in-alert of msn messenger.
we had this keystroke in the earlier versions of JAWS.
certain in version 7.0
combination of this keystroke was:
ALT SHIFT+F12
& JAWS automaticly announce the last contact who's just signed in.
we lost it beginning of updated to version eight & continue losing
in the ninth version. honestly: i'd been talked about that issue
several times previously but i see that no some one elss interesting
in it. although: that's very important topic to discuss.
it's an keystroke created by freedomscientific & removed by the company itself.
when i dropped technical support of freedomscientific about that
issue, i've been notifyed that we did changed this keystroke to
another situation of the keyboard.
it's existed in the number pad.
as i've just said that issue is match with the previous topic of
laptop keyboard registered.
laptop doesn't contain the number pad.
& am asking:
how could laptop users join with an this keystroke??
please: if you wish to post your opinion, you must be laptop user membir.
i'll open that issue to discuss for three days.
hope that benifit & join of most membirs in the list.
finally:
if you would like to contact me privately to shairing JAWS
knowledges more directly, that's my contact informations are set here

Re: [JAWS-Users] Mini-Notebooks

Surely there is room for some flexibility here?

What good is the hardware without Jaws after all?

There is also the Asus Eee PC, HP Mini Note and MSI Wind. The
manufacturers websites have all the specifications and your local
computer store will have pricing and availability.
I have used all these machines and I find the Acer Aspire One to be of
poor build quality when compared to others.

Hello:

I recently purchased the Acer mini note book. I wanted it for travel
because it only weighs two pounds.

I have found no problems with it working with JAWS. I purchased it at
Walmart so it could be returned if I had problems.

Good luck,

Can JAWS run on mini-notebooks? I would love to hear from anyone who
has

tried or who is doing so now.

Thank you to all who replied in advance.

I'm interested in such model and like to know is it worth for the price.
Big thanks!

Re: [JAWS-Users] Mini-Notebooks

2008-10-10 Thread Marijan Janev

Hi Chris,
Can you tell us more about your experience with Asus EEE PC wiht 8GB?
What operating system and how it works regarding the screen readers?

I'm interested in such model and like to know is it worth for the price.
Big thanks!

Chris Legg said the following on 10.10.2008 18:05:
There is also the Asus Eee PC, HP Mini Note and MSI Wind. The
manufacturers websites have all the specifications and your local
computer store will have pricing and availability.
I have used all these machines and I find the Acer Aspire One to be of
poor build quality when compared to others.

[JAWS-Users] IE7 update

2008-10-10 Thread Larry Stansifer
Hi Folks,

I just installed the security update for IE-7 and now it takes far longer
for the program to respond. Web pages seem to take a lot longer to load,
response to flash content has slowed down and even tabbing between links
seems to take longer.
I am using XP-Pro and Jaws 8.2173. I also tried Jaws 9.current and there
doesn't seem to be any difference.
Short of going back to Fire Fox, does anybody have any suggestions?

Re: [JAWS-Users] *(J tools)*

2008-10-10 Thread Chris Hallsworth
I tried JTools, and all it does really is make your computing a little
easier. Yes there's a demonstration file that gets installed by default, and
this allows you to use the small scripts, unrestricted, for 15 computing or
JAWS sessions before it will nag you to purchase an authorization file,
which has your JAWS serial number encrypted. Hope this helps.

There is also the Asus Eee PC, HP Mini Note and MSI Wind. The
manufacturers websites have all the specifications and your local computer
store will have pricing and availability.
I have used all these machines and I find the Acer Aspire One to be of
poor build quality when compared to others.

I have found no problems with it working with JAWS. I purchased it at

Hello:

I recently purchased the Acer mini note book. I wanted it for travel
because it only weighs two pounds.

I have found no problems with it working with JAWS. I purchased it at
Walmart so it could be returned if I had problems.

Good luck,

Can JAWS run on mini-notebooks? I would love to hear from anyone who has
tried or who is doing so now.

Thank you to all who replied in advance.

2008-10-10 Thread Alex Stone
There is a book in the jaws training material called something like: jaws
with ms office 2007. However, I only have jaws 10 at the moment, and it
doesn't seem to have quite reached there yet.
Cheers

Could you tell me three things:
1. The size of the hard drive

Hello:

I recently purchased the Acer mini note book. I wanted it for travel
because it only weighs two pounds.

I have found no problems with it working with JAWS. I purchased it at
Walmart so it could be returned if I had problems.

Good luck,

Can someone give me the quick and dirty about how to burn an audio CD
with Win XP?

When using the CD burning wizard, if you select create an audio CD, the
wizard dumps you into media player. Your files are there and ready to
go. But, how do you start the process? In older versions of Media
Player, there was a button near the bottom of the screen labeled "Start
Burn." You had to find it with the JAWS curser and press it, but once
you did, the CD burning started. That button does not seem to exist in
version 11, or at least I can't find it. Is there a keyboard shortcut
to start the process?

Can someone give me the quick and dirty about how to burn an audio CD
with Win XP?

When using the CD burning wizard, if you select create an audio CD, the
wizard dumps you into media player. Your files are there and ready to
go. But, how do you start the process? In older versions of Media
Player, there was a button near the bottom of the screen labeled "Start
Burn." You had to find it with the JAWS curser and press it, but once you
did, the CD burning started. That button does not seem to exist in
version 11, or at least I can't find it. Is there a keyboard shortcut to
start the process?

Re: [JAWS-Users] reg:queries on excel2007's menu bar

2008-10-10 Thread Roopakshi Pathania
Hi Radha,

To begin with, office 2007 no longer has a menue bar. The new way of presenting
menue options is called a ribbon. As you might have guessed, the ribbon is
suppose to look like its name sake. It has a series of tabs that are groups of
items performing similar actions. While, the upper part of the ribbon contains
the titles of the tabs, the lower part of the ribbon contains the commands.
Jaws announces the key combinations you need to press to perform a particular
command, when you are on that specific command.

These links may help you to learn about many of the keyboard shortcuts in excel
2007.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Links On The JAWS-Users Home Page

2008-10-10 Thread Roopakshi Pathania

Hi Donnie,

Your friend is very likely using a popup blocker, google toolbar for example.
The problem can be resolved by pressing ctrl along with enter or the spacebar.
She can also root jaws to pc and then press eather the left mouse button, or
the spacebar it self on the link.
For a permanent solution, she would have to remove the popup blocker.

Regards
Roopakshi from India

It sounds like she has a pop up blocker working. Tell her to hold down the

I do not have any problem getting the links to work on the JAWS-Users Home
Page, but a friend of
mine cannot get them to work at all. Every time she tries to enter on a
link, all you hear is a

dull boink sound. Does anyone know what the problem might be?
