Re: [JAWS-Users] Outlook 2003 questions.

In outlook 2003, it's in the options dialog box, either under the e-mail
options, or the Advanced options--I can't remember for sure--but I know
it's there.

I really couldn't tell you in 2003, but in 2007, press the jaws key with v,
there you can change your say all options, also for send receive, just push
control, alt, plus s and you should be presented with the dialog box to
schedule how often you want messages downloaded. Hope this helps.

Hi list:

How do I get jaws to automatically read messages when opened?

And where do I go to set outlook to check for new messages say every 3
minutes? Thanks!

The only way to get those files is to use a audio grabber. Because

One has to find Skype, ALT + C for Call menu, arrow down once to Answer

Maybe there are scripts to do all that? Certainly I have selected all the

[JAWS-Users] JFW 10, MS Word and hyperlinks

2008-11-15 Thread BDM
I've experienced the below issue in both JFW versions 9 and 10 but not 8.
Using XP Pro and Office 2003, in Microsoft Word I often make use of the
hyperlinks that take you to a particular spot on the page. In both
Versions 9 and 10 it will simply not paste them on the screen. If they are
there from putting them in with V8 you can use them but they are not noted
as a hyper link. That isn't so much a problem, but not being able to create
them is a problem. I've tried Insert V and changing various settings to
see if it helps but it ain't happening.

Has anyone had this issue and or know the fix?

Thanks.

You can only use one anti-virus program. So if you are already using AVG,
you cannot install and use Avast or any other anti-virus program.

While in an email message, press Alt-Shift-H to change from text mode to
HTML mode and activate web links. To permanently read all email messages
in HTML mode, go to the Read page of the Options dialog of the OE Tools
menu, tab to Read All Messages In Plain Text check box and make sure it
is unchecked.

Re: [JAWS-Users] anti virus program.

2008-11-15 Thread Chris Hallsworth
You can't have more than one antivirus installed and running on one
computer, however you can install antispyware and other forms of protection.
I have AVG 8 Free here and Super Antispyware Free Edition. AVG 8 is pretty
much accessible out of the box and is easy to use once you understand the
slightly strange interface.

Re: [JAWS-Users] anti virus program.

2008-11-15 Thread Rick Justice

Hi Fiallo,
You can have only one resident anti-virus program, on your machine,
however, you should be able to perform a virus scan over the internet.
There are several of these available, such as TrendMicro's housecall, but
you will

need to disable your current anti-virus before running one of these scans.
More info can be found from which ever site you choose.
I would stick with a reputable site.
HTH,

Re: [JAWS-Users] Another very Jaws friendly dictionary

2008-11-15 Thread Flor Lynch
Alex,
this was originally about a definition in a dictionary using 'language which
might be considered offensive' to use a phrase the RNIB use about some of
their books. Whether you or I do or do not find a four-letter word
offensive is neither here nor there. Many quite reasonable adults object to
such language.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] RE Office 2007

I'm using Office 2007, and find it works well with JAWS 9
I've only had JAWS 10 on my computer for one day yet, but it has solved
one problem I've had in Access.
I'm very happy with it, but if 2003 is working well for you, I don't see
a great advantage in spending the money to upgrade.
I can't speak to the security issue.
Blessings,
Tom

Re: [JAWS-Users] Another very Jaws friendly dictionary

2008-11-15 Thread Dan Rossi
I personally got a bit of a snicker out of this thread. When the first
person originally said that they found the Urban Dictionary and that it
was a great dictionary, I was going to point out what it actually was, but
figured they would figure it out after they ran a few words through it.

It's definitely not the dictionary for the faint of heart. *GRIN*

[JAWS-Users] Avast

2008-11-15 Thread Jewel

For several weeks after I installed Avast, once a day, I would be told, audibly
told, that avast had
been updated. I thought that feature of the program was real cute, but then it
stopped. However,
this morning, it started again! GREAT!!!
