[JAWS-Users] YouTube Image Capture Accessibility
Hi. well that old chest nut again. tried to signup for youtube, but ran into the image capture, and no alternative capture. so no sighted help around. and if i go to the youtube contact page, no e-mail, just look in the help resources. well tried to signup a few months ago, and ran into the same problem. and if i try to go to the help pages or resoucesresources, and try to click on any thing, it comes up with the singup or login screen. so how do i get around this and the only contact is the pr...@youtube.com, which i sent a message asking them to redirect to the owners of this site and making alternative capture possible for us blind people. so how did you get around this problem. a lot of sites seem to have no alternative capture for us blind people, who cannot see. now, did try firefox and web visum, but did not work, tried several times, tried clicking on the image, and using alt control 7 and got the web visum tool, but think i am logged in, or cannot remember my password, did click on forgot password, but nothing happend. so, how do i singup up, without getting very frustrated and not bother about signup and missing out on trying to find my favorite start trek videos to download and watch like star trek the next generation or voyager. so got any suggestions? cheers Marvin. Hi, Just so you know, the image verification scheme is called CAPTCHA - which is a contrived acronym for Completely Automated Public turing test to tell Computers and humans Apart. (Image *capture* means something else.) Marvin, I had my cousin set my you account up in Alabama and I am in Tennessee so just a thought maybe someone can set it up for you from there computer. Then you would have to verify the account, I do not believe the image capturing is in the verification process. I think you would be ok after someone set it up for you. These instructions are for XP. From the desktop, tab until JAWS announces that the focus is on the taskbar; but be sure NOT to right arrow from there, so that you are on an empty part of the taskbar. Right click, and select Properties, from the taskbar Options panel. First, make sure that Hide Inactive Icons is unchecked. Then tab till you find the Customize button. click on it, and a dialogue opens that allows you to customize which icons will, and will not, be shown in the system tray. I must warn you, though, that a number of icons on my system are continually getting reset, for no reason I can discover, to Hide When Inactive (the default setting), even though I set them to Always Show. I'm continually having to go back there, and reset them the way I want them. Then, sometime, the changes don't take effect until my next reboot.
