   Chrissy,
Is your message pane turned on? If Jaws is saying space like that, it
probably means that it isn't focused on where the cursor is currently
located.
- Try going into your View section and making sure that the Message
Pane is turned off.

That gives Jaws real fits if it's on.

Maybe you can try to totally reinstall Jaws. It only takes a few minutes.
I have dealt with similar problems in the past. I truly think that will
work. You might have one of those very secretive virus's. Believe me I
know all about those. I have been a Jaws user for 14 years and I am a
college graduate. When I lived in the dorm, a lot of those students used to
like to make those.

I am not sure what you are asking about that option. One idea I have, to go
through the different boxes in there is to press tab, and to bounce to the
different tabs press Ctrl Tab.

Re: [JAWS-Users] control panel accessibility option

2009-03-09 Thread Rogelio Terrazas
I have my Windows set up regularly. I just hit Ctrl Esc and I the start
menu I press C for Control Panel then I just hit A till its on Accessibility
Option. I think I know the way you got it set up. When you get to Control
Panel Tab and look for Classic View. After you hit that then you can just
the letters in their to get what you want. I remember when I didn't have
the Control Panel in Classic View and I used to run into the same problem.
I hope this helps.

Still trying to work on my mail problem so wanted to pass on a bit more
info about what it does now.
whenever i am writing a mail or replying to one and use any reading
keystroke combinations it seems like it is just jumping betweeen words
because all i hear is jaws saying 'space' instead of what should be the
text or word read out load. maybe that will help someone to figure out
what is going wrong. appreciate any help I can get

[JAWS-Users] Weird Outlook Express problem

2009-03-09 Thread Erin B. Edgar

Hi, all,

For some reason, when I type a message into Outlook Express which has
multiple paragraphs, using the control key in conjunction with the up
and down arrows will not read the previous and next paragraphs. It just
jumps me to either the top or bottom of the message. Curiously, this
is only happening in Outlook Express. I looked in the keyboard manager,
and it indicates that control-up-arrow and control-down-arrow are
supposed to say the previous and next paragraphs, but they don't.

I did not notice this problem until a few days ago when I installed JAWS
Script Exchange. I'm wondering if that would have modified my Outlook
Express script files? It is the only thing I can think of. If anyone
has any suggestions on how to fix this problem, please let me know.

BTW: I am using JAWS 9.0, Windows XP, and Outlook Express 2003.

Thanks,
Erin

Re: [JAWS-Users] Weird Outlook Express problem

2009-03-09 Thread Ann byrne
I can't fix it, but to jump from one paragraph to another while
reading, press the letter p or shift-p. During Sayall. It jumps in
Outlook Express just as in Internet Explorer.

But that isn't the answer.

I think you are looking for the Ease of Access Center control panel. A
shortcut for this control panel is holding down the Windows key and
pressing the u key.

Yeah, I pressed enter, I couldn't find Classic View either.
Don't worry, it might be different set up as I'm using Windows Vista,
sorry for not mentioning in the first place.

Sorry if my previous message was not clear.
I want to go to control panel accessibility option.
I pressed start menu, then S for settings, pressed enter and pressed C
for control panel.
I pressed down arrow, tab or control tab, but couldn't find the control

I am not sure what you are asking about that option. One idea I have,
to go through the different boxes in there is to press tab, and to
bounce to the different tabs press Ctrl Tab.

Yo may be able to use the sent to command. You could also try creating a
folder for the set of files you want to move, and just cut and paste the

StickyKeys is designed for people who have difficulty holding

down two or
more keys simultaneously. When a shortcut requires a key

combination, such
as CTRL+P, StickyKeys will enable you to press a modifier key

(CTRL, ALT, or
SHIFT), or the Windows logo key and have it remain active until

another key

is pressed.

Hello list,
I am helping a blind person with poor hands coordination using
the computer and I am introducing sticky keys, but sticky keys

shut off

when another key combination is pressed.

For example, to select a word we have to press shift and ctrl

keys together while pressing right arrow key.

But sticky keys function shuts off if any combination keys are

pressed.

Any idea on how to solve this problem please?
Thank you,
