[JAWS-Users] Creating a horizontal line
I posted a query on how to do this and Brian Lee suggested a way to do this. However, there is an easier way. In Microsoft Word - I use Office 2003 - go to the layout page and click on borders. The first thing you see is "none". When you press the tab key you will hear "single solid line". Press the tab key until you hear "horizontal line ..." and press the enter key. Then press the tab key and when you get to the okay button, hit the enter key and you are done. To save time, create a macro to do this. Thanks for the information. The program that did that for me was Word Perfect but I will try your suggestion. Francis - Original Message - From: Brian Lee To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Tuesday, May 12, 2009 10:28 AM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Inserting a line across a page in Word Hello Francis, One quick way to insert a horizontal line in Word 2007 is to type four or five dashes or underlines on a blank line and then press the enter key. This produces a bottom paragraph border that appears just like a horizontal line. You could then write a macro and assign a keystroke to the process. It sure seems to me that there use to be a keystroke for inserting a horizontal line in Word but I can't find it. Perhaps it was a different program I'm thinking about that had the keystroke. You could also add the bottom border as a quick part and use it like autotext, but just typing four or five dashes or underlines and then an enter key is a fairly quick way to insert a line.
