[JAWS-Users] JAWS fix available for iTunes 8.2

2009-06-16 Thread Annette Carr
This is a post from the Portable Players list that JAWS users might find
helpful.

A hotfix for jaws 10 has just been released which corrects the problem with
not being able to read the track list in iTunes 8.2.
if you are already running Jaws 10.0.1151, you can update by going to the
jaws menu, help, check for updates.
if not, then a full 10.0.1154 release will be made available tomorrow.

Added comments from Brian:

J-Tunes users should not update quite yet, we will let you know when to do
so, but we do not anticipate a long wait.

Further, I would like to publicly thank Freedom Scientific staff who worked
closely with me from the very moment the problem with iTunes 8.2 was
discovered
in order to remedy the situation. Well done FS!

2009-06-16 Thread Denny Huff
Not exactly sure what you are asking, but if you want to know if you can
train Dragon by yourself, then yes, if you use J-Say you can. While in the
training mode of Dragon use the J-Say key, grave accent, to announce the
text it is asking you to say.

If you have Dragon 9.5, you will need Jaws 9.051.92 and J-Say 6.1.
For Dragon 10 you will need J-Say 6.2.

Re: [JAWS-Users] How do i: jaws graphic lable?

2009-06-16 Thread Janelle Vacanti
I don't use JAWS 7.10, I use JAWS 9.0, but try going to the help menu in JAWS
and finding a topic that says something like: JAWS help topics, J. Then press
enter and arrow down until JAWS says: Customizing JAWS, book closed. Press
the right arrow to open this book and then press down arrow until JAWS says:
Graphics Labeler, book closed. Press the right arrow to open this book and
then you can look at the different topics.

Re: [JAWS-Users] How do I sort the Favorites alphabetically inInternetExplorer?

2009-06-16 Thread Mike Barbara
Hi Frederick,

If you are running XP try the steps below.
1. Open Favorites.
2. Press Alt + V for the view menu.
3. Arrow down and make sure list is checked and if not press the enter
key to checkit. If you have to check this box with the enter key you will
leave the view menu so press Alt + V again to get back into the view menu.
4. Arrow down and make sure the list box is checked and if so, keep arrowing
until you get to arrange Icons by submenu and press enter.
5. Now, arrow down to the Name choice and press enter and this should
put your favorites in alphabetical order in a list.
I hope I didn't screw these steps up and they have helped. Take care.
Mike

Re: [JAWS-Users] Internet Explorer problem.

2009-06-16 Thread Gerald Levy

The only other suggestion I can think of is to perform another System
Restore to get your computer back to the state it was in just after you
installed IE 8, if you can find a restore point. Presumably, IE 8 was
working at this point, but you decided to roll back to IE 7 using System
Restore which apparently screwed things up. If you can go back to the
future and get IE 8 to work, you may be able to then remove it properly
using Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel and roll back to a working
version of IE 7. Sorry I can't be more helpful, but this is the only thing
that comes to mind short of reinstalling Windows or using Firefox as your
browser.

Did you try to remove IE 8 using the Add or Remove Programs option on the
Control Panel? If not, and you simply performed a System Restore, this
may explain the problems you are experiencing with IE. Check Add/Remove
Programs to see which version of IE is actually installed on your
computer. If it's still IE 8, remove it to roll back to IE 7. Removing
IE 8 using Add/Remove Programs does not completely remove IE but merely
reverts to the version you upgraded from. So don't worry that you will
lose IE altogether if you remove IE 8 this way. Once you have
successfully removed IE 8, you may need to reboot your computer to get IE
7 working again.
