Re: [JAWS-Users] anchors

Unless you are a sailor, I assume you would be referring to HTML anchors.
Links on web pages are defined with anchor tags. There are many places on
the web for free tutorials, such as:

http://www.w3schools.com/

Look under HTML.

Hello Holger!

To scan only, or to pay for that, if you have money, is the best

Superantispyware free only scan the computer, but if you pay pro, it will

If you do not like to pay, use threadfire.

[JAWS-Users] trying to get jaws back without restarting

2009-06-18 Thread Derek Roberts
Hi all,

I am running Vista home basic, if this makes any difference. Sometimes, when
I close jaws, I can't get it to come back up again, or at least, not all the
way up. I give it several minutes to load but even after that it still just
sits there. If I open another screen reader and hit enter on the jaws icon
after that, I get the jaws utilities menu and can't get to the main jaws
menu. The only way I've found to fix this is to do a restart or log out and
back in, but I don't wanna do this every time jaws decides to go shove off.
Does anyone know of another way to fix it?

Thanks!

[JAWS-Users] uninstalled spybot

2009-06-18 Thread Lenny McHugh
I just uninstalled spybot and installed super antispyware.
Super antispyware I found is much easier to use.
Uninstalling spybot is a multi step process.
After the uninstall is done there are some files that require manual
removal.
With the windows find I located them and was able to delete all but one
folder. There is a dll that is still in use. After a computer restart the
folder in program files can then be deleted.
Hope this helps anyone else who plans to remove spybot.

Try control + shift + escape. That will bring up the task manager.
Look in processes for jaws after it stops talking and won't come back
up. Stop the processes from running. Then try your hot key for jaws
to bring it back up.

Re: [JAWS-Users] auto forms mode

2009-06-18 Thread Desiree Oudinot
The only issue I have with auto forms mode, which is actually quite
strange, is when I'm using winamp, or sometimes firefox, and then I
alt-tab to a conversation I'm having in aim, forms mode goes on and I
can't type in the aim window. The only solution I've found to fix that
is to close the conversation window, then re-open it again, which is a
pain. But other than that, I think it's a nice feature, and I wouldn't
want to see it taken away either. And if anybody has any suggestions
to resolve the problem I have with it, that would be great too.

Re: [JAWS-Users] auto forms mode

You should be able to turn off Auto Forms Mode in Configuration Manager for
those applications. If you do not know exactly how to do this, I can give
you detailed instructions.

Because when you are justmoving through a page, you end up in forms mode
accidently, and you type in the fields without meaning to especially when
you are using the alpha keys. The fix is to simply set the forms mode to
one or two seconds. Then, you should be able to move your hands fast
enough

so that it isn't a problem. All and all it's a good fearute if employed
correctly. I would not want to see the option taken away.

Hi everyone,

Why do some of you dislike using auto forms mode?

Just curious.
