Re: [JAWS-Users] converting rar files to zip

2009-08-19 Thread Van Der Walt Riana
Hello Steven,

I'm also using the winrar corporate edition, but I don't think the
conversion is done with winrar itself.

Just extract the rar file with winrar and then, select the extracted
file and via the applications menu, use the send to, folder to
compress it to a zip file. It says something like: In order to
compress this to a zip file it must be associated with compressed zip
folders. Currently it's not the case. Do you want to associate it...
then choose yes and it zips it up.

Regards

Riana

2009-08-19 Thread Brian Lee

Hello John,

I am not sure if my previous message got to the list. Here is the
information i sent about accessing attachments in Outlook 2007.

When focus is on a message with an attachment just press the application key
followed by the letter H. Focus will move to the attachments list. Use up
and down arrow keys if you have more than one attachment. Press enter key
to open the attachment. To save an attachment use Alt+F for the file menu
followed by the letter N. This will put you in the list of attachments to
be saved.

 Take care.

I've tried mouse clicking on the name but I only get the system menu

Hello,
If memory serves me right. Go into the folder of songs, select all the songs
you'd like to put onto the cd, press the applications key, enter on add to
windows media player list. A song will begin playing, just do CTRL S to
stop it, tab down to the burn button space bar on that, tab to the burn
button menu, space bar on that and I believe it will ask or say burn cd or
something, I can't remember from there on. Sorry. I hope this will at least
get you started.

open the list of songs and cut them to the clip board now go to the drive
you have the cd to burn your product now cut them to that drive and windows

more info on this I can do it better than I can explain it.

I seem to remember a tool built into HJPad. Open the Tools menu, open the
Sample dialogues submenu, then I think it's called tree view sample. This
shows you all the Windows elements, including controls, and once an item is
selected in the tree tabbing to the read only edit field will read the
entire definition. Oh yes, you must either select physical or functional
description once the control is selected. So open the item, arrow to
physical or functional description, tab to the field, and you can find out
what that particular item either looks like or how it functions. Hope this
helps.

Re: [JAWS-Users] escape button

Hi,
Here is an easy test for that questionable escape key.
You can use JawsKeyboardHelp by pressing the keystroke Jawskey plus numrow1
and then press the escape key to find out its function.
Jaws will tell you what that key, and most other keystrokes is supposed to
do. and if you hear nothing the keyboard is probably damaged.
You toggle this mode off by pressing JawsKey plus Numrow1 again.
This will work even with your key echo set to none.

Hi,
Here's a link from the Freedom Scientific web site describing controls which
have to do with the Internet, maybe it'll help a bit in other situations.
This address is rather long so what usually works with Jaws is to arrow to
the right on the link until you get beyond the two slashes in the link,
RouteJawsToPcCursor with JawsKey plus NumpadDash or the bottom-most left key
on the Numpad and the Top-right-most keys together.
JFW will say RouteJawsToPc or similar, Then click the LeftMouseButton which
is right above NumRow8 which is the same as the Uparrow on the numpad.
The file you're downloading is a zip file containing one of the training
.mp3 files.

Hi Kimsan,
The problem is probably that the link was split by your email program.
Copy it to the clipboard and paste it into Notepad and remove any carriage

Re: [JAWS-Users] Punctuation Off!

2009-08-19 Thread Jon Pierson
Hi Victoria,
You will need to use the Configuration Manager for this as follows since the
Exclaim: is on by default, even with Punctuation set to none.
You do this from within the application you wish to change punctuation for.
I don't know what program you are reading in but if (when you open config
manager) you get a new configuration dialog, press enter to create one for
the current application.
If you don't, then the one which exists for say Notepad or Ms-Word for
example will load automatically when you do the following.
1. Open the Config Manager with jawsKey plus Numrow6.
2. Press alt plus the letter S followed by the letter P to open the
Customize punctuation dialog.
3. The first item in the list is Exclaim and is set to all.
Tab once and you have a group of punctuation level radio buttons with the
all radio button already selected which says what level of punctuation
category that symol is assigned to.
4. Press downarrow for none and press enter.
5. Save your changes with Control plus s and alt plus F4 closes the manager.
Hope this does the trick and there is a Restore Default button in that same
dialog if you don't like the results.

Jon

So are the exclaims surrounded by spaces or in some other way are they
written differently than what you would expect?
It may make a difference too what synth you are using.
Sorry for the misinfo.

Jon

Hi, No I haven't turned it off in the Configuration Manager, because I
thought that there my only option was to alter the default. I still want
to have the keyboark echo a punctuation key, when I type it. Or if I am
going across character by character, checking my typing. I just don't want
to hear any punctuation, when I'm reading in a Say All situation. Do you
have any sugestions for that spacific situation?

I would be very greatful!

Vicky

 manager?
