Re: [JAWS-Users] Word 2007-Navigating and editing Table of Contents

2009-12-14 Thread Brian Lee
Hello Bill,

You might try using your links list. Use insert with F7 to list the links.
Each entry in a table of contents is shown as a link. Use the "move to
link" command to move to the entry in the table of contents and use enter
key on the link in the links list to move to the area being referenced by
the link.

You can edit the table of contents by moving into it and then choosing
"update table of contents" or "edit table of contents" from the context menu
by using the application key. If you choose the update field choice you
will get choices for updating only page numbers or the entire table. If you
choose the edit choice you will be able to work with field codes and do
other editing functions. Using F9 while the cursor is in the table of
contents will update the current field, selecting all with CTRL+A and then
pressing F9 should update all fields in the document including table of
contents entries.

Take care.

I can use enter to jump to a section, but alt left arrow says "returning

Can you edit the table of contents with Word 2007 and JAWS 10 If so, how? ?

Any help will be appreciated.

I apologize for a repeat, especially if this was already
answered.
I noticed a user asked about how to recompile a script with
JAWS.
Press insert+0 to open the Script Manager with JAWS.
Then open (or if already in the GoldWave program) press
control-shift-C (I think) or press control-S to recompile.
Just close Script Manager after that, and there you go.
I think.

[JAWS-Users] XP to windows 7 ?

2009-12-14 Thread David Griffith
Dear list ,

When Windows 7 came out the suggestion was that it had the key improvements
of vista but returned to the performance of XP. It appears that this may
not be the case.

In view of some of the issues Jaws appears to be having with Windows 7 there
is some food for thought in the link to an article below giving the results
of a performance test which shows XP still outperforming Windows 7

The author ran tests on what he called legacy machines rather than the most
recent PC models which apparently have features that Windows 7 can tap
into. Still as the article is about whether people should upgrade rather
than buy a new PC this is a legitimate testing technique .

It does look like those with a PC about 2 years old, like me , will be
better off sticking with XP for performance . Obviously a focus on the
security aspects of XP will also have to be considered.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Gold Wave Scripts

2009-12-14 Thread Donald Marang
There is a known problem installing scripts on a 64 bit system from a self
installing JAWS Script Exchange (JSX) package. Until a compatible version
of JSX is available and the packages are rebuilt, this will not work. In
the mean time, I think the only work-around is to install the scripts on
your 64 bit system manually!

Hi Hannah,

This issue of authorization popping up in Windows 7 is resolved, once
and for all, in an update to JAWS 11 that is scheduled to release no
later than next Monday. Actually, I have some insider info that suggests
it should be public by noon on Thursday this week. You will also find 4
new Research It items in this update. Business Search, Area Code look
up, Currency Converter, and Fed-X package tracking.

Just for clarification purposes this is the file I downloaded:
Eudora_7.1.0.9.exe, is that the correct version?

even though eudora 7.1.0.9 isn't supported by qualcom anymore, it is
the last release of the real eudora and still works great for me. as
far as attachments, they are placed in an attach folder and are
automaticly saved there without any special keystroke and are scanned
by your virus protection software.

I use Roadrunner with Eudora, but you won't be able to guarantee that
you will get tech support from RR.

I forgot to ask for those of you like myself who use Roadrunner do they
support it?
also where do I go to set up or check my account settings?
I see nothing like that in eudora.

Re: [JAWS-Users] I hate to bug you guys, but I got another eudora question

2009-12-14 Thread Baracco, Andrew W
You probably won't get much help from your cable provider. For example,
Roadrunner does not support Eudora, even though I once used my charm to
get a sexy sounding chick to look up some stuff for me, as apparently,
they do have access to a manual.

actually, 2 questions.
1. Do I have to pay for eudora?
I just downloaded what looked like eudora 7. I think.
yes, eudora 7.
Is there such a thing as a free version with no ads or whatever?
2. Shall I import my settings or call my cable/internet provider for
help?
if this is off topic, write to me privately.

Re: [JAWS-Users] what is the most accessible version of eudora?

2009-12-14 Thread Baracco, Andrew W
Keep in mind that several months ago, Eudora was taken over by mazilla,
the makers of Thunderbird. The current version of Eudora, version 8, is
quite different than previous versions, and looks and feels a lot like
Thunderbird, and is not accessible at all, at least as far as I know.
The last version released before the takeover was 7.1.9. That's the one
you should try to get.

Outstanding job, thanks. I am looking for another email program, and I
remember using Eudora many moons ago. It was fairly accessible, but,
when I downloaded it recently, while on my search, I found it to be
impossible.

It just goes to show that Just because a particular program doesn't work

well for you, doesn't necessarily mean their is a problem with JAWS or
the program.

[JAWS-Users] Access 2007

2009-12-14 Thread Chris Hallsworth

Hello all,
Just started to use Access 2007 with JAWS 11. The main design view reads
fantastic, but the table properties doesn't read very well at all. I
have to use the JAWS cursor to find out what property I am on. Any
settings I can change to make JAWS work better?

Thank you very much. Take care.
From Chris.
