Hi. Ok, lets make sure that this is what you want. you want a business
email account? is this for your own business? If so, it may be worth
checking with your web hosting company, most of them offer email as
standard if you have a website package. If its with an existing
company, again they should offer web based and pop/imap access. So far,
GMail has been the most reliable for me. I can work from anywhere if
needs be not only on email, but calendar and documents, why pay for a
business stile email package when you can have a near enough
professional one from google? the other options to buy a domain and get
some free webspace, and host your own email service which would be
accessible, as you'd have a choice of front ends to use to access it.
if you want any further information, don't hesitate to get in touch.

I personally use AOL as my primary email account for work, business, etc,
etc. I happen to like the fact that it is unlimited storage although I never
keep anything. Their site is very accessible with jaws if You have the need
to use the site. But You are also able to fool with your emails threw a
client such as outlook express, outlook, windows mail, others. I also like
the fact that it is an imap4 account. And is free. I also use a hotmail
account which I use for subscriptions, email lists, qupones, etc, etc.
Hotmail is also free however I find that their site isn't as accessible as
AOL's. In the past have used Gmail and have a Yahoo email account which I
never use. But both sites are very accessible with jaws. That should give
You a plethora of options to explore.

can get speech back, you can interact with the Outlook error reporting

INSERT-F4 does not work in this situation. Now, Window Eyes has a Kill

Hello all,
I have done my first professional recording of a JAWS Tandem session, as
part of my project. If anyone wants a copy, which is in MP3 format, please
let me know. I plan to upload it to Dropbox so that I can give you the
link via the groups, rather than attaching it on or off the groups, as the
MP3 is quite large (over 16MB in size). The recording was done using
GoldWave 5.56, and so was the editing, for example removing silence or
unwanted audio.

Many thanks in advance for any offers.

There has been a JAWS hotkey to unload JAWS when things go wrong since
version 8. It is JAWSKey (Insert for desktop keyboard layouts, CapsLock
for laptop) + Windows + F4. There will be no confirmation dialog.
Sometimes it produces a system beep on my computer. This also dumps the
memory to a file that FS support may ask you to email to them.

From the JAWS 8 What's New:
If a total loss of speech occurs, it is difficult to recover JAWS without
rebooting the computer. However, a reboot provides no diagnostic
information to assist Freedom Scientific in researching the underlying
problem.

INSERT+WINDOWS Key+F4 is a new JAWS keystroke for emergency recovery. The
new keystroke closes JAWS, terminates all related processes, and creates a
memory dump file. The diagnostic information can be used to assist
Technical Support. (Note: The keystroke will not work at the Windows Log
In screen.) After issuing this command, you can restart JAWS to regain
speech.

The memory dump file is saved to the Settings folder. To locate the file,
do the following:

Press CTRL+ESC to open the Start menu.
Choose Programs.
Choose JAWS 8.0, Explore JAWS, and then Explore My Settings. This opens
the following folder: C:\Documents and Settings\your user
name\Application Data\Freedom Scientific\JAWS\8.0\Settings\ENU.

Press the BACKSPACE key to navigate to the Settings folder.
Select the JAWSMemDmp folder and press ENTER. The files in this folder are
identified by the JAWS version and build number.

computer itself has not crashed, just Outlook and speech. Now, if you
can get speech back, you can interact with the Outlook error reporting
dialogue, and close and restart Outlook. The normal command, i. e.
INSERT-F4 does not work in this situation. Now, Window Eyes has a Kill
script that allows you to use a hotkey that will unload Window Eyes from
memory, and then you can use your normal hotkey, usually CONTROL-ALT-W,
to start WE again. Does JAWS have a similar key sequence that will
unload it from memory when INSERT-F4 does not work?

There has been a JAWS hotkey to unload JAWS when things go wrong since
version 8. It is JAWSKey (Insert for desktop keyboard layouts, CapsLock
for laptop) + Windows + F4. There will be no confirmation dialog.
Sometimes it produces a system beep on my computer. This also dumps the
memory to a file that FS support may ask you to email to them.

From the JAWS 8 What's New:
If a total loss of speech occurs, it is difficult to recover JAWS
without

rebooting the computer. However, a reboot provides no diagnostic
information to assist Freedom Scientific in researching the underlying
problem.

INSERT+WINDOWS Key+F4 is a new JAWS keystroke for emergency recovery. The
new keystroke closes JAWS, terminates all related processes, and creates
a

memory dump file. The diagnostic information can be used to assist
Technical Support. (Note: The keystroke will not work at the Windows Log
In screen.) After issuing this command, you can restart JAWS to regain
speech.

The memory dump file is saved to the Settings folder. To locate the file,
do the following:

Press CTRL+ESC to open the Start menu.
Choose Programs.
Choose JAWS 8.0, Explore JAWS, and then Explore My Settings. This opens
the following folder: C:\Documents and Settings\your user
name\Application Data\Freedom Scientific\JAWS\8.0\Settings\ENU.
Press the BACKSPACE key to navigate to the Settings folder.
Select the JAWSMemDmp folder and press ENTER. The files in this folder
are

identified by the JAWS version and build number.

Hi Al;

How do you put your computer into training mode and what functions would
training mode be used for? Thanks much. Take care.

Chris,

I tried this and it does work. Just a FYI to folks, however,
I put my computer in training mode to hear if JAWS announced
this keystroke did this and it did it even in training mode
which I did not expect. I heard the default beep through my
CPU.

2010-05-19 Thread Hans Pauli Sundstein
Hi Susie.

You can personally create your own shortcut to the file: C:\Program
Files\Freedom Scientific\Runtime Jaws\versionnumber\JFWKill.exe

If you place this shortcut e.g. on your Desktop, you will be able to access
this from there, when the shortcutkey is so difficult for you to act.

Good luck.

Hans Pauli.

[JAWS-Users] Memory stick

Re: [JAWS-Users] Memory stick

2010-05-19 Thread Ishe Chinyoka

What do you mean? is it RAM or space?

Well in the case of RAM, you need to know the type of RAM your Dell uses. If
it is a laptop, it may be using DDR1, but check with your manual first. Then
you can buy the extra RAM.

But you made reference to memory stick which makes me think that you are
also concerned with extra megs for your computer. In that case, any stick
compatible with your USB port will do. The amount of memory will depend with
your requirements: however, more is always better. The computer will always
require more room to breathe and speed to process its tasks.

Take care

[JAWS-Users] web mail and links

2010-05-19 Thread Lenny McHugh
I have an interesting problem. If I go to the verizon web mail and open an
email with a link, it is not recognized as a link. The link is not in color
but just like all of the other text. If I download into outlook express then
the email link is recognized and I can click on it. It is nothing in my
computer because my wife's macbook acts the same way. Is this indicative of
all web mail services? Or is there some setting that I need to make in
verizon central?

[JAWS-Users] Accuracy of Convert Currency within Research It

Hi Listers,
After comparing the Euro currency conversion in Research It with other mainline
financial sources, I found the research it value to be consistently higher
for the Euro from all the other sources. I have to question the accuracy of
Research It. There were other conversion values that also did not agree. Maybe
the sources that FS uses are the problem. Have any of you noticed any
discrepancies?
