Re: [JAWS-Users] IE8 and focus question
Have you tried f6? At 02:35 AM 11/19/2010, you wrote: Press Control+9 to put focus on the web site. On 19.11.2010 03:49, Brad Dunse wrote: I'm using XP Pro, JFW 12, IE 8. Though I think I had this with Firefox too sometimes. When I log on to a web page, it loads up and ttells me 100%, the status bar says done, but I arrow down, I get the http://www. whatever. And I find I'm in the address bar. It'll do this even if I access it from a favorite. Sometimes you can refresh the screen and then Shift TAB out but not always. Mostly when you Shift tab or tab it just says nothing, arrowing down just says blank. Is there a hot key that will put focus on the web page by chance? Or if you know of any other fix by turning something off or on even. It gets quite annoying and to get focus to the browser you have to use the Jaws cursor and try to find something that isn't a link when you click it. Thanks. Fortunately, Firefox is doing the job. There are 2 things I can't figure out with Firefox though. 1. I can't figure out how to turn on the feature to have web addresses that I go to often auto complete when I start typing the address. 2. In IE what Jaws calls combo boxes are called list boxes in Firefox, and they seem to operate differently. In Firefox, the only way I can find to select an item is to hit enter on it. That's not a problem - although I don't know what will happen when I come across a multi-select list box. The problem is that after I select an item Jaws doesn't recognize it when I read through the page to check my work. Jaws just says list box collapsed. My work around has been to unload firefox and go back to IE so that Jaws can read the selections in the combo boxes. This isn't a big deal, but if there's a better way to handle this, I'd love to know. Kate, Most likely, CiceroUIWndFrame belongs to a process called ctfmon.exe. It is part of Microsoft Office XP, and in other MsOffice suites. It enables the Language Bar among other things.
