You can enter whatever you like in there. I put in the websites,
usernames and passwords. You can also put in anything you want to
keep safe, like account numbers. Is that what you're asking?

Aloha list,
I'm forwarding you a message that I sent out to my coworkers,
which includes some comments from the BlindComputing list.

I found this little application that you can download and use to
store all of your account names, passwords and usernames and they
are stored in an encrypted file. Then you only have to remember
one password, the one that opens the directory that this
application creates. You can name the file anything you like
after you download it and you can put it in any directory on your
computer. You can also store it on a CD or thumb drive and not
actually have it on your hard drive.

I've tried to make this email comprehensive so you don't have to
run all over to get the info you need.
I read the info about this program and the only thing you would
need to remember is that you can't use the symbols verticle bar,
backslash or the underline symbol in the account names. He says
that those symbols mess up the way the software sorts things.

Here is a link to the Readme file:http://www.passkeeper.com/readme.txt

Here are a couple of comments from the blind computing list.
From Rick Justice:
Both Dave and I use this one check it out at:
http://www.blind-computing.com/personal/pages/passkeeper.html

From Brad Dunse:
Does this program seem stable? How long have you used it? I like it that it
is a little known home type project and not a well known program in case of
intrusion on a computer.

From David Ferrin:
Stable as a rock.

From Rick Justice:
I've been using it for maybe 5 or 6 years, not really sure, but
it is quite stable.

Since it does not take an install, I do not even have it on my computer.

Hello,
There is Day by Day planner by BSC. It does cost $30 US. It is very good
and works well on Windows Seven. It has an address book that will let you
send emails from it. go to:
www.blindsoftware.com to check it out. You can get a 15 day trial of the
software before you buy it.

Hope this helps,

Hi friends, have been virtually non-existent for months on the list due
to

slipping in and out of moments of depression cause by the death of my
mother.
To make things worlse I accidentally formatted the secondary harddrive
of my

machine where I had all my stuff backed up.

Anyway I got Windows 7 installed on my machine and need a program that
works
similar to Outlook express and and address book that could be
incoorperated

into Windows 7 that is accessible with JAWS 11.
Thanks. Heard Thunderbird is accessible but not sure. In addition I am
sorry
if this question had been raised before. My apologies to richard and
the
moderating team if I caused the list to be clustered with repeated
posts.

How long have you had your Toshiba M645-4070? Did you find the touch
sensitive media keys above the keyboard to be a problem? I did, and was
able to work with Toshiba Technical support to turn them off. Now I am
trying to learn the Function key commands to do those same tasks.

Do you use JAWS with the Laptop Keyboard setting or the Desktop setting?
I've always used Desktop on every other laptop I've owned, but finding it
impossible so far on this one. The embedded numpad does not allow for the

arrow keys and the other keys so that I can execute the various JAWS

Re: [JAWS-Users] Toshiba laptop FN keys

2011-02-05 Thread Russ Hubley
Patty, I am uncertain of all of the keys, but here are some on my Toshiba,
notebook, T215D-S1150

Function key +F4 hibernation
Function key + F5 external screen
Function key + F6 decreases screen brightness and F7 increases screen
brightness
Function key + F8 toggles on and off the internet. You have to press the F8
key twice to do either.

I think function key + F11 turns on the keyboard calculator.

I have also wondered about these key combinations.

Hope this helps,
Russ

[JAWS-Users] Toshiba laptop FN keys

2011-02-05 Thread Patti

Does anyone know what each FN key with the Funtion key does?
I have a Toshiba L500 laptop with windows7, and Jaws 12.
I couldn't find out what those keys do, so I thought I'll ask here.
Thanks for any help you could give me.
Patti

Thanks Cesar and other on this list who offered ideas on how to resolve my
JAWS issues on my new computer. After much experimentation, we figured
out
that the problem was a little check box called Sounds Effects that needed
to

be unchecked.

I will most likely install JAWS 12 and switch over to Laptop Keyboard
layout.

Thanks again!
Annette

Hi Cesar,

I have now updated to the latest release of JAWS with no improvement.

The embedded numpad does not allow for
the

arrow keys and the other keys so that I can execute the various JAWS
reading commands. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Annette

Hello,

I just got a new Toshiba M645-S4070 laptop running Windows 7 Home with
JAWS 11 installed. Most likely this is not the most recent version of
JAWS 11. When I am typing or navigating with the arrow keys or the tab

[JAWS-Users] trouble reading windows live mail messages.

2011-02-05 Thread Siobhan
Hi all. It seems like there’s no longer a virtual cursor in the body of email
messages. even composing this one, if I were to read a reply, I need to route
jaws to pc to read some of it I’m never sure if I can read it all in one
message or not. I’m using the latest update of Jaws 12, and a Windows seven
sixty-four bit machine. This just started happening. I did try to turn it on
again, thinking I hit the wrong keystroke but nothing I’ve done worked yet. I’m
also having trouble Jaws retaining focus when I hit control N to bring up a new
message in Windows live mail. It says Lost focus, and I have to end the process
in task Manager maybe once, like this time, but maybe sometimes three or four
times before it will recognize what I want to do. If any of these topics have
been covered, I apologize but it’s become quite a chore to read mail, so I may
have missed some answers. Thanks for all the help,
Siobhan

You can enter whatever you like in there. I put in the websites,
usernames and passwords. You can also put in anything you want to
keep safe, like account numbers. Is that what you're asking?

Aloha list,
I'm forwarding you a message that I sent out to my coworkers, which
includes some comments from the BlindComputing list.

I found this little application that you can download and use to
store all of your account names, passwords and usernames and they
are stored in an encrypted file. Then you only have to remember one
password, the one that opens the directory that this application
creates. You can name the file anything you like after you download
it and you can put it in any directory on your computer. You can
also store it on a CD or thumb drive and not actually have it on
your hard drive.

Here are a couple of comments from the blind computing list.
From Rick Justice:
Both Dave and I use this one check it out at:
http://www.blind-computing.com/personal/pages/passkeeper.html

From Brad Dunse:
Does this program seem stable? How long have you used it? I like it that it
is a little known home type project and not a well known program in case of
intrusion on a computer.

From David Ferrin:
Stable as a rock.

From Rick Justice:
I've been using it for maybe 5 or 6 years, not really sure, but it
is quite stable.

Since it does not take an install, I do not even have it on my computer.
