Gerald, I suggest you pass your information to tech support at
Freedom Scientific. When I contacted them a few months ago, they
said Jaws 9 does not support I.E. 8. It's fine to have your
anecdotal information, but I don't think you're in a position to make
a claim different of that of F.S.

JAWS 9. Maybe the folks who claim that IE 8 doesn't work with JAWS
9 did not have the latest build installed. The only JAWS feature
that does not work is read Address Bar (JAWS key-A), which is really
no big deal. I have been using JAWS 9 with IE 8 every day for over
two years and have yet to encounter any serious compatibility issues.

Hi Dwight,

Jaws 9 does not support I.E. 8. although some claim to have them
working fine together, I had a lot of trouble with the combination,
so much so I had to roll back to I.E. 7. I'm afraid that's your
only option, besides upgrading Jaws, of course.

Re: [JAWS-Users] un able to click on linkes in OE6 with IE 8.

2011-05-11 Thread Flor Lynch

There is no "OE2003". there is an Outlook 2003. Which is it?

If it's Outlook Express, from the message list go to the Tools | Options
| Read tab control, ctrl+tab, press tab key, come to checkbox "read all
messages in plain text" and, if checked, uncheck it by pressing
spacebar.

If it's not OE6, then change the subject line.

[JAWS-Users] Using JAWS 12 with Word 2003

2011-05-11 Thread Keith Hinton
Hi all.
I've read through the JAWS helpful hints for Word, but am using Office
two thousand three here on this computer.
I work with Office 2003 in some cases.
JAWS by default still seems slow in Word 2003, and I haven't tried to
customize Word itself.
What changes do you folks suggest making in Word2003 with JAWS?
Upgrading to the latest version of Word is not an option at the
moment-so I need to know what Word-specific as well as any possible
JAWS-specific changes you folks recommend if at all possible.
Remember it's Word2003 we're talking about.
Also, I'm running the latest build of JAWS12.0 here on Windows7 if that helps.
Thanks!

Jim, When I navigate down the folder list, JAWS tells me how many messages
are unread and perhaps the total. When I tap the space bar, I usually am put
in the list of messages for that folder. If you need, I could lookup my
settings. I don't think my usage of Outlook 2010 has anything to do with
processing the folders and messages since I have always have been using
Outlook for some good long time. Perhaps I used Outlook 2007; history
becomes a fog after a while.
