Re: [JAWS-Users] IE 8 and menu bar problem
Gerald, I suggest you pass your information to tech support at Freedom Scientific. When I contacted them a few months ago, they said Jaws 9 does not support I.E. 8. It's fine to have your anecdotal information, but I don't think you're in a position to make a claim different of that of F.S. The only JAWS feature that does not work is read Address Bar (JAWS key-A), which is really no big deal. Re: [JAWS-Users] un able to click on linkes in OE6 with IE 8.
There is no "OE2003". there is an Outlook 2003. Which is it? If it's Outlook Express, from the message list go to the Tools | Options | Read tab control, ctrl+tab, press tab key, come to checkbox "read all messages in plain text" and, if checked, uncheck it by pressing spacebar. If it's not OE6, then change the subject line. - Original Message - From: "Mich" To: "jaws-users-list @jaws-users.com" Sent: Thursday, May 12, 2011 1:16 AM Subject: [JAWS-Users] un able to click on linkes in OE2003 with IE 8. [JAWS-Users] Using JAWS 12 with Word 2003
Hi all. I've read through the JAWS helpful hints for Word, but am using Office two thousand three here on this computer. I work with Office 2003 in some cases. JAWS by default still seems slow in Word 2003, and I haven't tried to customize Word itself. What changes do you folks suggest making in Word2003 with JAWS? Upgrading to the latest version of Word is not an option at the moment-so I need to know what Word-specific as well as any possible JAWS-specific changes you folks recommend if at all possible. Remember it's Word2003 we're talking about. Also, I'm running the latest build of JAWS12.0 here on Windows7 if that helps. Garry, look up your settings please and maybe I will find out what my problem is. If I leave jaws set to intermediate it says one read, or two read, etc., but on advanced, it says nothing. If you need, I could lookup my settings. I don't think my usage of Outlook 2010 has anything to do with processing the folders and messages since I have always have been using Outlook for some good long time. I hate to keep sounding like a broken record, but IE 8 works just fine with JAWS 9. The key is that you must have the latest build of JAW 9 which is 2191U.
