[JAWS-Users] Finding attachments in Mazilla Thunderbird 3.1 with jaws!

2011-06-23 Thread (Lists) Paul Traynor
Hi All,

Is there a specific shortcut key either provided by jaws or native within
the Thunderbird application itself which pulls up a list of attachments
from within an email message?. Otherwise, what do others here use in
Thunderbird for getting to their attachments?.

Many thanks,

Paul.

[JAWS-Users] start menu speaks now

2011-06-23 Thread lmorris1953
Well with the expertise from Keith at FS my JAWS v12 start menu in win 7 is now
speaking again. I was able to get to the repair option only after deleting v12
explorer setttings and then reinstalling the latest version of JAWS. In
conclusion we often (and this includes me) talk about bad tech support and fail
to give credit for expert tech support. I just wish I recorded our conversation
of course with your permission. (smile) Keith from FS thanks again for helping
resolve my JAWS issue.

David is this using the standard victor note file format. I ask as I
have purchased the softpack and can change the format of the note to Mp3
or whatever.

I have just posted a program that will convert a note file recorded
using a Victor Stream to a wave file under the Utilities heading and
currently it is at the bottom of the list since everything is listed
alphabetically.

It might not be for beginners to install but the directions are clearly
written out so there should not be any problems.

That program has been sitting on my data drive for a couple of years since I
couldn't find who the author was for permission to post it. Yes as I
understand it and I did personally test the program myself it seems to use
the standard format of the Victor Reader. It's nothing fancy but it is free
for those who might need it.

[JAWS-Users] jaws keeps dropping off

2011-06-23 Thread Heather
Hello, I have jaws11 and it keeps going silent and not sure why this is! I
installed it off freedom's site for 64 bit and it installed just fine but,
it keeps going silent for 1 or 2 minutes. Sometimes I have to turn jaws off
with insert f4 and restart it again. Does anyone have a fix for this type
of issue! Thank you, Heather

[JAWS-Users] Removing tables

2011-06-23 Thread wayne smith
Hello-

I am using Windows 7 64 Bit with JAWS 11. I copied and pasted some text
from the website to a MS Word 2007 document. I ended up with tables that
did not show on the website. In XP there was a command that removed tables
and left just the text. I can't find tables at all in these new formats.
Does anyone know if we can still select tables with text and give a command
to remove them? Thanks in advance for any help.

Wayne

Re: [JAWS-Users] Address Book Question

2011-06-23 Thread Steve
The easiest way is to start the easy file transfer wizard under all
programs, accessories on your new machine and folllow the instructions. You
can transfer things from your old computer using a flash drive, memory card,
CD rom, or your home network.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Removing tables

2011-06-23 Thread Brian Lee
Hello Wayne,

When the cursor is in a table in Word 2007 or Word 2010, a design tab and a
layout tab are added to the right end of the ribbon. In Word 2010, use Alt
key followed by J followed by L followed by V. I don't remember if that is
the same for Word 2007, but if not, use Alt key and then right arrow key
until you get to the layout tab. Use the tab key until you find the Convert
Table to Text choice. When you press enter key on that choice, or after
using Alt followed by J followed by L followed by V, you will be given a
dialog box to make choices. There will be a group of radio buttons that
represent different characters you can use to replace the column breaks.
The default is the tab key. Use up or down arrow keys in the group of radio
buttons to choose. If you choose the "Other" choice, you can then tab to
the edit box and press a spacebar to have one space replace the breaks in
the table. If you choose "other", you need to add something in the edit
box, the program doesn't let you leave it empty. Tab to OK and use spacebar
after choosing.

Take care.
