Re: [JAWS-Users] numbers
Hey Mike, This is the first time that I have had a chance to follow your very well put steps, and it works. Now you don't have to be on Phil's cauch this week. smile Thanks for your time. Patti Hi Patti You, confused?! Heck, that's my middle name! Just ask Doctor Phil! hahaha hahaha hahaha The first way is through Jaws options for an individual application. 1. Press Insert / Jaws key + V, for Jaws options. 2. Press the letterN, as in Nancy, until you hear Numbers Options Opened. 3. Arrow down 2 times to, Speak Single Digits If Number Contains Dashes, press the spacebar until you hear, off . This setting will make Jaws read a phone number as whole numbers. To make other numbers read as whole numbers in an individual application; 1. While in the application you want to make the changes to, press Insert + 6 on the number row above the main keyboard to open the settings Center. 2. Arrow down to, Text Processing press right arrow to open. 3. Arrow down to Number Date Processing press right arrow to open. 4. Arrow down to Number Processing, tap the spacebar to cycle through the options, stop when Jaws reads, full numbers . To have the date read as numbers; 1. While still in Number Date Processing / number processing, arrow up 1 time to numeric date processing. 2. Tap the spacebar until you hear no translation . Below is how this option is explained. Use this list to determine how to announce dates written in numeric formats. Select No Translation to read numeric dates as numbers. This is the default. If you tap the spacebar until you hear, some translation , below is how Jaws will read dates. Select Some Translation to have numeric dates, for example, 01-01-10, spoken as month, day, and year using slashes or dashes for separation. If you choose extended translation , below is how Jaws will read dates. Select Extended Translation to have numeric dates spoken only as month and day and separated by slashes or dashes. Note that numeric fractions, such as 1/3, are read as dates. Now, after you have made your changes, tab to okay, press enter, to save your changes close. Hope this helped, a little bit anyway! Take care. [JAWS-Users] Positioning Mouse Curser On Screen
Many times on a person's FaceBook page they will have a picture of themselves near the upper left hand corner of the screen. I have a little vision but it is very very difficult to see the mouse pointer, even with it set as large as it can be. Sometimes I like to click on that picture and save it in My Pictures folder. Is there some way I can position the curser on it without having to manually move the mouse to it? For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
