[JAWS-Users] stopping Jaws from saying space marker

2011-08-12 Thread jason smith
Hi list. I have a couple of files for my course. I am finding, that Jaws is
saying space marker a lot. It is almost after every word. It is also saying
paragraph marker at times too. I haven't experienced this with previous files.
It makes reading the text rather awkward. Is there a setting I can change to
stop this?
I am using Jaws 12 on a XP home system. And I am using word 2003. Although, I
think some of the files may originally have been PDF documents.

Thanks Jason

How does the on line version interface with a regular version as I would bre

the actual version?

there are any reports to the contrary

How well does JAWS interface with Quicken software? I may be

Quicken for a work-related project involving the tracking of

Hello there;
I'm going from memory here!
I believe to stop hearing
Space marker, you can use the keystroke,
Ctrl+shift+#8 on the numbers row, while your in MSWord.
Or you could,
Alt+t=tools,

O=options,
I believe you will land on the view page, now tab and uncheck all,

Hope this helps.

To read email messages in Outlook 2007 as plain text do the following.
Alt + t for tools menu
Arrow down to trust center enter to open
Arrow up or down till to get to email security
Tab until you get to a check box that says read all standard mail in plain text
and hit space bar to check.
There will then be another check box under that for reading digitally signed
email as plain text also which you can check or not.
Tab to the ok button and then all your emails should be in plain text.

Re: [JAWS-Users] hiding Windows Live Essentials update

2011-08-12 Thread Hans Pauli Sundstein

Hi.

It comes as a separate update, and if you only hear the message, that there
is an update for Windows Live 2011, than just ignore this.

If you really want to hide this update, than in your search box type Taskbar
and choose Taskbar and Menuen Start, and from the Taskbar tab, select the
Customize button, from where you can make your chois for, which icon's shall
appear in the taskbar.
Find the Windows Live 2011 Icon's, and from the Compobox select Icon and
message's, and press ok.

Press ok once more.

Now you can find the update on the Taskbar, and after selected this, press
the context menu key, and find the selection Hide update and press enter.

This should get it to disappear from your update opportunities.

Good luck.

Hans Pauli.

You can type the words windows update (without the quotes) in the start
menu search box and press enter when you hear that choice. When Windows
update opens, use shift+tab a couple of times until you hear the link for
the important updates. Press enter on the link. You will get a list of
updates. Use up or down arrow key to the one you want to hide. Use the
application key or shift+f10 to bring up the contextual menu. Use down
arrow in the menu until you find the choice to hide the update and press
enter key.

Take care.

ok, I tried to run this thing down, but I don't get something that you
apparently do, you said something to the effect that when you tried a search
recently in the labs, you got your results in a current google search
format, correct?

how was it displayed before this? I don't remember how things were displayed
in the past, and I never had a google account so have no point of reference.

and two, yes, as of the 16th of this month google labs is a goner, though
some of the sub divisions are supposed to be moved to other places or other
arrangements.

they still want you to have a google account to access the android
application maker stuff though unfortunately, I could get interested in
that!

anyway, I have a Email saying that to change things to do with searches and
how the results are displayed, you go into your account preferences, and in
a part called Query Suggestions. the user unchecked Do not provide query
suggestions in the search box.

and wound up with No search clutter.
