Re: [JAWS-Users] goldWave questions
Hey Gang, I just downloaded gold wave 5.65, on my windows 7, running jaws v13. I put the scripts 5.7 in, but when I put the place markers down it says nothing, and when I do a ctrl A it doesn't tell me how long the track is. Does anyone have the scripts for gold wave 5.65? Thanks for all the help you can give me. Patti Hi, Glad I could help. For information I use jaws 12, goldwave 5.58. and the scripts are version 1.60. I think that there are some script versions that don't work well with some goldwave versions. First, you need to install the scripts if they are not installed yet. you can get them from http://blind-geek-zone.net/Data/goldwave_5.57_jaws_scripts_1.60.zip First, you have to open an audio file in goldwave and then explore all the script options. Insert+h is very helpful command. Unfortunately here shift+numbers don't speak at all. But you can look in the view menu what part is shown on the window or even easier just press alt+shift+z and you will hear the zoom level. Goldwave has playback cursor and selection markers. There are two selection markers - to set the start and end point of the selection. Start point is set by pressing [ (left bracket) and the end point is set by pressing ] (right bracket). To understand how the software works you can read the help documentation by pressing f1 in goldwave or to listen to some tutorials created by Rick Harmon here http://blind-geek-zone.net/audio.htm When you open the site, just search for goldwave or use "h" to go through the headings. Negoslav - Original Message - From: "Patti" To: Sent: Monday, September 05, 2011 6:59 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] goldWave questions Hey, Negoslav I think this is cool, but could you explain to me what selection keys mean, and when I press shift 1 through 0 it just says !, @, #, $? Thanks for helping me to understand all of this. Patti Here is what insert+h in goldwave told me as an answer. I paste it here because I believe it will help you understand the zoom better. The commands you used as an example control the zoom level. To zoom to see the actual waveform, Press Shift+1. Note: in ratio, this level is presented as 1:1. To zoom one second of audio, press Shift+2. To zoom ten seconds of audio, press Shift+3. To zoom one minute of audio, press Shift+4. To zoom ten minutes of audio, Press Shift+5. To zoom one hour of audio, press Shift+6. To zoom out the entire sound file, press Shift+A. To zoom to the level where individual samples can be seen and edited, Press Shift+0. To zoom in or out to a preset level, Press Shift+U. To zoom to the recent previous value, press Shift+P. To zoom to a specified level, Press Shift+S to open the dialog, and type-in the value, when you press enter to close the dialog, the new level is automaticly anounced. Finding certains parts of a sound file is done through keyboard navigation, which involves playing the file and moving the playback cursor until the area if interest is located. The view and zoom level control how much audio is displayed on the screen (or page). By default, GoldWave displays the entire file. Use the View Menu Commands to change the amount of audio displayed. This also changes the amount the playback cursor and selection markers are moved with each keystroke. The cursor is moved one tenth of the screen size. Selection markers are moved one hundredth of the screen size. Using View | 10 Seconds displays 10 seconds of audio in the view. The Page Up or Page Down key moves the cursor 10 seconds backward or forward. The Left or Right key moves the cursor 1 second backward or forward. The selection keys move the start or finish marker a tenth of second (0.1). Using View | 1 Second displays 1 second of audio. At that level, the page, arrow, and selection keys move 1 second, one tenth of a second, and one hundredth of a second respectively. Re: [JAWS-Users] MS-WORD 2007 LABELS
Hi When I create a single label in Microsoft Word, I open a new document and type the label information into it, and then save the document. When I want to print a label with that information, I re-open the document if it's not already open, select the text containing the label information and then go to the mailing tab and select create label, The selected text shows up in the label, so I just have to indicate whether I want to print a single label or a whole page of the same label and print. I'm using Word2010, but the same technique of selecting the text worked in Word 2000. -Original Message- From: jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of jerry martin Sent: Thursday, January 05, 2012 03:04 To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] MS-WORD 2007 LABELS To All Listers: Can anyone tell me if after creating a label in MS-Word 2007, is there a way to save it so I don't have to re-create the labels all over again? [JAWS-Users] Jaws 13, magic 11, on win7 with IE9
I use magic at a very high magnification, like 20 to supplement my use of jaws. I am wondering if anyone on this list has experienced the following issues. Magic and jaws don't seem to work together if I am filling out a form on a website. If I move down a list of documents in My Documents, magic doesn't move as jaws reads each item on the list. If I am in notepad, magic does not move with jaws if I am moving down line by line in order to edit something. Other issues have come up as well. But I know that every computer and every configuration is different and each of us with a tiny bit of vision, handles the use of the vision in relation to the computer and jaws differently. But I thought I'd just ask. Miriam For answers to frequently asked questions about this list visit: http://www.jaws-users.com/help/
