Hi.
Yes it is.
If you are using jaws 12 or 13.
I think jaws 11 also has a researchit feature but it looks pretty basic.
To get sports scores for the current day.
Open researchit.
Delete whatever is in the edit box.
Press tab once.
Press up or down arrow until you hear mlb scores.
Press enter and you get the virtual viewer with the scores.
To get scores and schedule just type the date you want to know about in the
edit box.

[JAWS-Users] A PDF question

2012-06-30 Thread Vicky Vaughan
Hi, I just baut and downloaded a book and 3 documents, only to find when I
unpact them, that they were in PDF format.

I have checked ansers that have talked about how to read such a document but I
have an aditional problem.
My file is on my main computer and my OpenBook software is on my other computer
and the file will not let me copy it on to a disk to transfer it.

Is there any way my Jaws 13, with convient OCR can handle reading an entire
book?

Many thanks for any suggestions! Vicky

2012-06-30 Thread Mike B.
Hi Vicky,

You could install it but, it wouldn't work unless you hooked a scanner up to
it. There are some rather inexpensive good stand alone scanners out there.
Once you have the scanner installed, you would then go into the Openbook
menues assign the scanner to be used to the program. The Canon LIDE
series is 1 brand that comes to mind. Take care.

Is there an unattended script somewhere to assist with the install of Win
7?

If so, where can we find it? Thanks.

It's o.k. I found that it does actually work normally, not sure what was
going on here.

Hi friends,

Does anyone know if it is still possibly to perform an unattended
installation of Microsoft Windows 7 Home premium with the same scripts as
Microsoft Windows 7 Pro? I seem to be having some strange issues where it
doesn't seem to pick up the script in the normal way.

Many thanks in anticipation,

Hi Vicky,

I don't usually try to respond on this list because I can't get the e-mail
to go through. But I just wanted to let you know that I have installed
OpenBook on my work laptop at home without a scanner. I did it just so I
could use the freedom import printer. It works just fine.

If you have any questions, let me know I'll try to help.

Debby

Hi Mike, Can I install open Book on my second computer, where there is no
scanner?
I may be mistaken in thinking, that the installment program would look for
the presence of a scanner.

Thanks, Vicky

Hi Again Vicky,

How about installing Openbook on your main computer! You are allowed to
have it on more than 1 computer, providing the other computer is also
yours.
Hope this helps a little. Take care.

Hi, I just baut and downloaded a book and 3 documents, only to find when
I
unpact them, that they were in PDF format.

I have checked ansers that have talked about how to read such a document
but I have an aditional problem.
My file is on my main computer and my OpenBook software is on my other
computer and the file will not let me copy it on to a disk to transfer it.

Is there any way my Jaws 13, with convient OCR can handle reading an
entire book?

Many thanks for any suggestions! Vicky
