[JAWS-Users] Jaws repeating text in Microsoft word
Hi, I am using Jaws 13, the latest build. I am running windows 7, on a 64 bit laptop with office 2010. I used a windows 7 laptop, 32 bit, also running office 2010 and had the same problem on it. When I press control with down arrow in Microsoft word, Jaws repeats the current paragraph. Sometimes when I use the arrow keys, Jaws can occasionally be unstable. I have repaired Jaws several times and adjusted zoom settings to 50%, but that doesn't fix the problem. A restart doesn't help. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks. If you're using IE9, then you're probably dealing with split buttons. I access BookShare with IE9 all the time. Once you click on the download button for a particular book, you have to press the alt+n command to bring up the various buttons for open, save, cancel. When you're on either the open or save split buttons, you can arrow down to the action you would prefer. It's pretty easy. -Original Message- From: jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Vicky Vaughan Sent: Wednesday, September 26, 2012 4:51 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Mazilla Firefox questions? Re: [JAWS-Users] How do I compile a .jss file in Jaws 13 and 14?
Hi You should copy all of the files you received in the scripts to your user settings file. The easiest way to find that folder is to open the start menu, go to all programs, goto JAWSxx (where xx is your version) then select explore JAWS then explore my settings. Paste the files into this folder. To compile the JSS file, open GoldWave. Then press JAWSkey=numrow 0 to open the JSS file. Then press control+s to save and compile it, so don't change anything in this file. That's it. I have to admit, I am a good bit behind the technical curve however. I got lost when you started talking about a "back up" drive. I don't think I have one, or, I don't know what that is. I do have McAfee which has a back up feature and I am currently working with their technical support to help recover the files. Also; I have downloaded a free program to recover O E e mails. This has not proved to be much helpful either, in that, many of the recovered files are empty. Thanks again. Hi Rose, This should not be happening. We will have a new public beta version available within 2 weeks. Once you install it over top of the existing build, if this is still occurring, please alert our Test department with the form right away. [JAWS-Users] Outlook 2010/virtual cursor
Since the release of the Beta 14, I have had problems reading e-mail in Outlook 2010 with parts of messages being read in the next message parts of a message not being read at all. Annoying, but I discovered when I have a large list of messages that turning off the virtual cursor alleviates the problem, of course that means when I get one of those complex e-mails I must turn it back on. I assume this has something to do with the buffering and I do hope the problem is eventually solved so I don't have to change back and forth all the time. I have one list that put out over 400 messages in one day, having messages all mixed up was not an option, I reverted to Jaws 13 but the next day I turned off the virtual cursor in Outlook and was able to move quickly through messages again each reading completely and not getting mixed in with the next one. Problem partially solved. There should be a quick key to do this switch, maybe shift/control v? ok, I'm not sure why it went flam bouie, sometimes things like hard shutdown or what i call a "cold kill" can corrupt files that are in operation, which you had two front page heavys along with all the background stuff. ok but since you were using outlook express and you have a backup of your drive, if its a whole drive backup, you should be able to salvage a big hunk of your messages. i know your using McAfee, but what one, and where are your backup files saved to, and do you know what format there in, a .exe, a .zip, a.maf, what? then we need to find out if there a full drive save, or a partial inthane -Original Message- From: jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Rich Hamel Sent: Monday, September 24, 2012 4:58 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Major e mail issue with outlook express I had I.E and O.E trying to come up but when the pc froze, I hit the alt/control/delete button since alt F4 did not work. Hello, since I am not sure if this list accepts word attahcments, I will not attach the document, unless requested to do so. Anyway, before I go into my issue, let me give you my system specs. JAWS 14.500. Windows 7 64 bit. Intel Core I5 processor. 8 GB DDR3 RAM. 500 GB HD. Intel HD display. Office 2010 home/student 32 bit. Now, here is the problem. When I launch a document which contains a table, when i open it from computer, it says, word document. I can not use any table navagation what so ever. However, when I launch it directly from with in word, it works fine. Does anyone know what could be causing this?
