[JAWS-Users] Jaws repeating text in Microsoft word

2012-09-26 Thread Alana Jovanovski
Hi,

I am using Jaws 13, the latest build. I am running windows 7, on a 64 bit
laptop with office 2010. I used a windows 7 laptop, 32 bit, also running
office 2010 and had the same problem on it. When I press control with down
arrow in Microsoft word, Jaws repeats the current paragraph. Sometimes when
I use the arrow keys, Jaws can occasionally be unstable. I have repaired
Jaws several times and adjusted zoom settings to 50%, but that doesn't fix
the problem. A restart doesn't help. Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks.

Alana

Re: [JAWS-Users] Mazilla Firefox questions?

2012-09-26 Thread Cristobal
If you're using IE9, then you're probably dealing with split buttons. I
access BookShare with IE9 all the time. Once you click on the download
button for a particular book, you have to press the alt+n command to bring
up the various buttons for open, save, cancel. When you're on either the
open or save split buttons, you can arrow down to the action you would
prefer. It's pretty easy.

Re: [JAWS-Users] How do I compile a .jss file in Jaws 13 and 14?

2012-09-26 Thread Mike O'Brien
Hi

You should copy all of the files you received in the scripts to your user
settings file. The easiest way to find that folder is to open the start
menu, go to all programs, goto JAWSxx (where xx is your version) then select
explore JAWS then explore my settings. Paste the files into this folder.
To compile the JSS file, open GoldWave. Then press JAWSkey=numrow 0 to open
the JSS file. Then press control+s to save and compile it, so don't change
anything in this file. That's it. Alt=f4 will close the Script Manager.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] How do I compile a .jss file in Jaws 13 and 14?

Hello.

I got some GoldWave scripts and I'm supposed to compile the .jss file which
is one of many included as part of the JAWS scripts for GoldWave. So how do
I compile this .jss file? Also should I first move this .jss file along with
the rest to the ENU folder where the script files should reside and then
compile it?

Re: [JAWS-Users] Major e mail issue with outlook express

2012-09-26 Thread Rich Hamel

The McAfee back up is "on line" back up.
When the files were finally recovered and downloaded, I could not find where
they were saved to.

I believe the messages are DBX?
I did find "Back up" files in ,"my computer", under McAfee back up and,
after sifting through the options I found, "in box", under "identity".
When I click on a file to open, I get a message asking if I want to override
or rename the existing file?
I am not sure if the file is one of the backed up files I've been looking
for, since I can't open it.

Thanks so much.

ok, hmmm

in your original message you said the following:

My pc froze up as I was trying to start up my e mail in internet
explorer.

and:

When I turned it back on and went to O.E., the in box said "closed" and,

my in box and spam folder were empty.
and something like ""and so was the deleted items folder""

this makes things a bit confusing to me, are you using O.E. to access a
web
Email account, or did I.E. and O.E. get confused in the message
somewhere?

the second thing is, you a bit later said:

I do run a back up with McAfee.

ok, but what type of backup and to where are your files backed up to, the
online storage system site, to another drive, ?

before I try to clarify, I need more accurate information, if you used
I.E.
the files are probably gone, with O.E. and a backup you should easily be
able to get your files back, or most of them, depending on what is backed
up
by the program your using.

I use a file and folder backup and synchronization so I added the backup
program I mentioned to you to make sure I had a backup of my emails
without
any hassle. I would recommend getting it JIC. it can save a backup file
in
your "my documents" folder and replace lost emails and there accounts
with

a
few minutes of simple clicking.

give me neater info and between your MacAfee techs and us out here we can
do
our best.

and since what I do out here is post to, gather from, and repost to (with
an
occasional bit of finding it out added in) information on 8 lists
currently,
or maybe its 9 now, I lost count, I know what a bad crash or a disk
failure
can mean in the area of information loss! triple backup, ah yep, there's
nothing like triple backups of your stuff!

sincerely,

Inthaneelf, thank your for your help.
I have to admit, I am a good bit behind the technical curve however.
I got lost when you started talking about a "back up" drive.
I don't think I have one, or, I don't know what that is.
I do have McAfee which has a back up feature and I am currently working
with

their technical support to help recover the files.
Also; I have downloaded a free program to recover O E e mails.
This has not proved to be much helpful either, in that, many of the
recovered files are empty.

Thanks again.

Since the release of the Beta 14, I have had problems reading e-mail in Outlook
2010 with parts of messages being read in the next message parts of a message
not being read at all. Annoying, but I discovered when I have a large list of
messages that turning off the virtual cursor alleviates the problem, of course
that means when I get one of those complex e-mails I must turn it back on.

I assume this has something to do with the buffering and I do hope the problem
is eventually solved so I don't have to change back and forth all the time. I
have one list that put out over 400 messages in one day, having messages all
mixed up was not an option, I reverted to Jaws 13 but the next day I turned off
the virtual cursor in Outlook and was able to move quickly through messages
again each reading completely and not getting mixed in with the next one.

Problem partially solved. There should be a quick key to do this switch, maybe
shift/control v?

its set to become a permanent update, and then in the near future to go to a

its not a bad version, I'm using it right now, but if you really don't want
it nagging at you until your dysfunctional on the web due to not upgrading

You have to un check it from the update web page. Instead of letting
it come in let it check for updates. Then review and un check that

Hello, since I am not sure if this list accepts word attahcments, I will not

attach the document, unless requested to do so. Anyway, before I go into my

issue, let me give you my system specs.
JAWS 14.500.
Windows 7 64 bit.
Intel Core I5 processor.
8 GB DDR3 RAM.
500 GB HD.
Intel HD display.
Office 2010 home/student 32 bit.
Now, here is the problem.
When I launch a document which contains a table, when i open it from
computer, it says, word document. I can not use any table navagation what
so ever. However, when I launch it directly from with in word, it works
fine.
Does anyone know what could be causing this?
