Look at all the one's that are in Jaws 11 and 12 that they won't fix? So,
you need to pay an entire SMA to get simply research it fixed. Very
disappointing. I respect that they need to make business, but something like
research it shouldn't be too hard to rol back the updated Script file. All

 List,

When I attempt to look up the weather, JAWS 14 Beta 2 is only reading
the current condition, temperature, etc, for that day. It will not
read anything passed that. I.E. When you go to the summaries for the
days of the week, all you will hear JAWS read is Friday, Friday night,
Saturday, etc. It completely skips the summaries underneath the
listing of the days. I just finished testing this with the latest
build of 13, and it works as expected, just as it did in Beta one. Let
me know if you're able to produce this by looking up the weather for
your own area. I'd be interested to find out if anyone else is
 experiencing this. Thanks, Josh

If you're interested I could post it on my server on the audio page. I have
various tutorials up there from other people than myself.

It was done well, but I suggest that you need to get JAWS to come across in
the same channel as your voice so we could hear it better in future
tutorials. If you need some pointers let me know. Granted in windows 7 that
is a problem I will admit.

[JAWS-Users] audio tutorials

Yesterday I posted a file dealing with doing a batch conversion using Gold
Wave, sorry if I sounded tired when I did it. I wasn't but I was
concentrating on doing it well so much that I didn't put much inflection in

Also I am working on a tutorial on creating and modifying an interactive

using only a single hot key for an open ended number of options. I will show
you an example where I have a menu containing at the present time 13 items
from which I can select with one hot key.

It does cut down on the number of key strokes I need to remember.

Thank you miss Becky. The tutorial posted by Geovanni Bahena is currently on

turned up the volume after the first couple of seconds.

Jonathon Mosen did very well on his recording also but personally I never go
to those web sites he mentioned. I do use the site Geovanni mentioned in his
recording quite a bit.

Never the less his is up there now and it is well done in my opinion. Got to

List,

When I attempt to look up the weather, JAWS 14 Beta 2 is only reading
the current condition, temperature, etc, for that day. It will not read
anything
passed that. I.E. When you go to the summaries for the days of the week,
all you will hear JAWS read is Friday, Friday night, Saturday, etc. It
completely
skips the summaries underneath the listing of the days. I just finished
testing this with the latest build of 13, and it works as expected,
just as it did in Beta one. Let me know if you're able to produce this
by looking up the weather for your own area. I'd be interested to find
out if anyone else is experiencing this. Thanks,
Josh

Re: [JAWS-Users] Total Recorder and JAWS

2012-10-06 Thread susan

mike,
Sorry I missed your message the other night. I'm glad to hear that you were
successful with Dectalk Express as I thought I'd heard that it didn't work
with Windows 7 for some reason. I do have it and will try that first. Being
able to run Dectalk sounds easier than trying to wade through the FS site to
find the right bulletin for the instructions. My head tells me that the
process of installing a secondary soundcard should be straightforward
enough, but I've made my share of stupid mistakes and don't want to break
anything.

Hi

I have successfully used Dectalk Express under Windows 7 64 bit with JAWS
12, 13 and 14 beta. A second sound card for JAWS should also work. Instead
of unloading JAWS, you can mute it by pressing JAWSkey+space and then
pressing s. To unmute JAWS, press JAWSkey+space and then s again.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Total Recorder and JAWS

Hi Everyone,
Using Windows 7 and JAWS 12 with the latest build of Total Recorder, I can’t
figure out how to do software recording without also including JAWS speech.
On my previous XP system with an older version of TR, I either had to use
Dectalk Express or to utilize a registry patch in order to solve this
problem. Unfortunately, I have lost this file in migrating to my new system.
Besides the obvious solution of unloading JAWS, which I’d prefer not to do
unless absolutely necessary, is there a workaround for this problem? Will
Dectalk Express work with Windows 7 or is there a total Recorder driver
configuration that might be more feasible? I don’t understand a lot of the
help files about setting parameters or deciding which drivers I should use.
In fact, I’m not even sure which is installed as the default or how to
change drivers. Any help or advice would be appreciated, preferrably with
step by step directions, although my sighted son is an audio engineer who
will at least understand whatever feedback I get. Thank you for your
patience.

2012-10-06 Thread Rose Combs
Press insert spacebar and look at the options. weather is okay for current
stats but that is it. It is the only part I generally use and my iPhone
does a better job of giving me at least the forecast for the next current
and next day.

Some pages offer you search but no way to implement them, thinking of
people search which gave me 10 names out of let's say 40 and I can see the
first 10 and no more, can't find out where it is coming from and more. The
dictionary I would find helpful at work and the sports scores are generally
broken.

It isn't my favorite feature in other words, but if I have time to play I
might mess around there to see what I get. That said I used to use the
weather often and now, unless all I need are the current temperature etc, it
is useless.
