[JAWS-Users] Windows not responding.

2013-05-03 Thread Kuenga Chhoegyel
Hi,

Quite often I face with my computer of not being able to open or cloase a
document. I get the message:

"[Window Title]

Windows Explorer

[Main Instruction]

Windows Explorer is not responding

[Content]

If you restart or close the program, you might lose information.

[Restart the program] [Close the program] [Wait for the program to respond]"

Should I wish to go to other locations such as Drive C or Drive D, I start
getting the following message:

"explorer.exe

The remote procedure call failed and did not execute.

OK"

However using the right click (application key or context key,) and choose
open, I can get into the folder.

How can I resolve it?

Looking forward to hearing soon.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Windows not responding.

2013-05-03 Thread Rick Justice
Hi Kuenga
You did not say which version of Windows you are using, but I will take it
that it is Windows 7,
and if that is the case, try the following:
1. type the following in the search box on the start menu:
Folder Options
You may not need to type it completely, just until that choice comes up in
the list, press enter.
2. When the properties open, you will be on the general tab, so move to the
view tab
3. Tab until you come to the tree-view of options, and press the letter S,
until you hear the following:
show preview handlers in the preview Pane.
this will be the fifth item that starts with S, and more than likely will
be, on.
Uncheck this item using the spacebar.
4. Next, tab to the apply button, spacebar it, and then tab to the okay
button, and do the same.
5. Re-boot your system, and see if this corrects the problem.
HTH,
Rick Justice

First, are you using the usual control a, conttrol c and control v?
If so, and you get no text, there is another way a bit longer but always
works for me

On the web page and you wish to select all
1 use the application key and up arrow to select all
enter
2 press the application key and up arrow to copy and enter
3 go to where it is you wish to paste
3 application key and up arrow to paste and enter
there should be what you have selected, copied, and pasted where you
desire

Yes, I now have solved the issue.

The problem I faced, was, indeed, an irritating one, especially when you are

Hi Kuenga
You did not say which version of Windows you are using, but I will take it
that it is Windows 7, and if that is the case, try the following:
1. type the following in the search box on the start menu:
Folder Options
You may not need to type it completely, just until that choice comes up in
the list, press enter.
2. When the properties open, you will be on the general tab, so move to the
view tab 3. Tab until you come to the tree-view of options, and press the
letter S, until you hear the following:
show preview handlers in the preview Pane.
this will be the fifth item that starts with S, and more than likely will
be, on.
Uncheck this item using the spacebar.
4. Next, tab to the apply button, spacebar it, and then tab to the okay
button, and do the same.
5. Re-boot your system, and see if this corrects the problem.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Windows not responding.

Re: [JAWS-Users] about accessibility of yahoo mail.

2013-05-03 Thread Scorpio
Hi Salim,

Because my ISP uses yahoo Servers as their primary hosts for e-mail, I called
my ISP when my e-mail got accidently switched to the new Yahoo mail format.

I was told that there was no way to change it back, however, he did
unofficially inform me, that changing your screen resolution to a lower
resolution, automatically switches your Yahoo mail back to classic Yahoo Mail,
and so you don't have to worry about the new yahoo mail coming into effect.

I was told that a screen resolution of 800 by 600 will do the trick, and I've
been experimenting, and so far, I've gone up to 1024 by 768 resolution, but
this may be specific to my computer, so please take this with a grain of salt.

having said that, I am confident in the information I received from the
representative i spoke to, as the minute I changed my screen resolution down to
800 by 600, the New yahoo Mail interface was gone, and replaced with the one I
was so familiar with.

Hope this helps.

Scorpio
