[JAWS-Users] captcha availability

2013-11-14 Thread leonard morris
I could be wrong about this but I thought someone said earlier this week
that the Firefox Capcha was no longer available and wanted to know of an
alternative. If indeed I'm wrong I apologize in advance. It seems to be
still working just fine.

back up all you're data files and music and yes there are USB compatible

Hi all.
I'm needing to back up my music and data files and am wondering what kind of
external storage device to get.

I am currently using Windows XP.
Also, would a thumb drive be better than an external hard drive?

Lastly, are there USB powered external drives or must they be powered from a
wall socket?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Advice sought regarding external storage drives

2013-11-14 Thread Steve
Better off getting an external USB drive. More storage and better than just
using a flash drive.

There are two types:

You can get a Usb powered drive, or you can get an external drive that is
powered via wall socket. If you have a spare SATA hard-drive, you can just
get a drive enclosure and put the drive in it. That's what I use and you
can take one hard drive out and put another one in if you want.

Information is good no matter where it comes from, and I'm often trolling

Press the Windows key

Type "Taskbar" into the search edit box

Down Arrow to select Taskbar and Navigation and Press Enter

Press Control-Tab to activate the Navigation tab

Press Alt-D to check the "When I sign in or close all apps on a screen, go
to the desktop instead of Start" check box

Press Enter to activate the OK button and close the Taskbar and Navigation

I'll believe you if you can find a source on Microsoft.com that says they
are now doing this. Is there a source? I'm open to being wrong.

Hi,

This is not spam. Like I said I have called it three times and they fix
my

pc. This is a new service that Microsoft started in January. I am on
another group and other people on that list also stated they go there pc
fix. Again I thought this was a scan too but I called the number and got
my
pc fix three times. Trust me this is for real. If you don't think so
just

call the number and you will be connected to Microsoft.
If you want to email me and asked more question please do so.

[JAWS-Users] Sharing a folder on Windows 8.1 with Windows XP and 7

2013-11-14 Thread Mike O'Brien
Hi

I have added a new computer running Windows 8.1 to my home network. it is
using JAWS 15.Am I having fun? I am trying to set up certain folders on
the Windows 8.1 machine to be shared by the rest of the network, which runs
Windows XP and Windows 7. I have gone into advanced sharing in the
property's for each folder and set them to be shared and their sharing
permissions. I turned on the discovery setting and configured the firewall
to allow sharing. But when I attempt to access one of them from Windows XP
or 7, I receive the following message.
Network Error
Windows cannot access \\xxx2\Public documents
You do not have permission to access \\xxx\Public documents. Contact your
network administrator to request access.
For more information about permissions, see Windows Help and Support

In the network sharing settings, found from the start screen, I see that the
wireless network displays as a public network. I have read that it needs to
be changed to home. I have not been able to find any way to change the
network from Public to Home using JAWS and the keyboard. How can I change
the network from public to home. Is there anything else I am missing to
allow the windows 8 folders to be shared?

Thanks.

very easy to help them take the PC over to do it. But yeah, He nuked every

Any way I encourage anyone with pc problem to use this great service.
