Yes, you may actually need to check that it is a PCI Express slot or PCI
Express card, the bus speeds are different and I have a feeling that the card
will need to be PCI Express to deliver USB3 speeds.

If your current browser is getting the job done, why upgrade?
Microsoft will be supporting IE 10 for some time.
As to Jaws, you can have multiple versions installed on the same machine.

[JAWS-Users] Banking security with IE was Re: IE 10 or 11

2013-11-19 Thread Sharon Gosling
The only reason I upgrade browsers is the hope that new ones will be more
secure. But I do leave IE9 on the Win 7 desktop because it is easier to
use. Even if your old XP machine works the best with your bank I would be
very hesitant to use it for banking. Evidently XP gets a lot more security
problems and after April it will be obsolete. I have retired mine except to
keep backups on.
I like IE 9 for my bank since I can copy the whole table of transactions and
copy it directly into an Excel spreadsheet. I have done this for years.
With IE 10 and with Firefox the table will not copy in regular table format.
It copies each cell as a long vertical list which does no good with my
Excel spreadsheet.
As for upgrading Jaws, I do this only in the hope that navigating the
Internet will get better. Lately with Jaws 14 I have found many websites
that most links work and then I fill in lots of information and the submit
link or some other important one will not respond to any key combinations.
So I guess I will go ahead and install my Jaws 15 today and hope for the
best.
Just a thought...Kim Komando, the digital goddess, has mentioned in many
recent newsletters that there is a security flaw in windows which has not
been patched yet. For this reason I have been checking my bank info on my
iPhone.

I also plan to purchase the identity theft protection very soon.

Re: [JAWS-Users] windows live mail

2013-11-19 Thread Sharon Gosling
You have to label the appropriate graphic to announce it. It has been a
while since I labeled them but basically you do the Insert V and have jaws
announce all graphics.
Then the tricky part is figuring out which graphic is which...for example
collapsed, expanded, attachment, etc. I sent myself various test emails
until I was fairly confident which graphic was which and then used the Jaws
graphic labeler to name them. Then set Jaws back to reading only labeled
graphics.

2013-11-19 Thread Trish
Hi Sherry,

Thanks for the info here. I do not use any banking on xp, that for the
moment just is my scanner system, that is very soon going to change though,
new scanner and OB upgrade is round the bin.
The Dinosaur system is online simply because I'm on cable and currently I
have to have drop box on it to get something I've scanned to reach me on my
win 7 laptop.

I do and have performed the same save as in that CSV format for my banks
monthly info as well. Lately though, I just open Adobe and save it as a text
doc.
Do you not get email notices of when statements are available for viewing?
This bank is not a national chain, it's a credit union specifically for
Texas.
I do like Wells Fargo layout wondering if there banking side is as good as
their mortgage side, very easy to navigate with Jaws.
I guess the bottom line is, we all figure out a way that works for us,

Re: [JAWS-Users] iE11 keeps crashing while visiting youtube

2013-11-19 Thread Michael Babcock
I had to switch to using firefox for my youtube issues... The webcam upload
site:
http://youtube.com/upload
works just fine for me, in ie and firefox, but if I go to my page:
http://youtube.com/myownpay/
IE 11 crashes on me... my suggestion, try firefox out; it's faster.

Hi Mike,
I know that part, but what I ment about the share folder is:
You can only enter through the share folder and view the folders you are
storing there in your 3 computers to view.

Have a good day.

Hi All,

All of the sudden our computers are not seeing each other over our home
network but, they can all access the printer via the same home network.
Each computer only sees its own shared drives / files / folders when opening
My Network Places in XP Network in Windows7. This started just within the
last few days we don't have a clue as to why. I checked the IP Address
Subnet Mask numbers the same are used for the Firewall configuration
settings. We're running Vipre AntiVirus Internet Security but, even when
we turned off the firewall we get the same results it doesn't matter which
version of Jaws is running or not running. This is happening between 2 XP
Pro, 1 XP Home, 1 Windows7 Pro 64 bit computers. We re-ran the Network
Setup Wizard 3 times but, no go! Can anyone help?! All advice input will
be graciously accepted greatly appreciated! Thank you all very much.

Take care.

I assume you started by power-cycling the router? Next, you should run
something such as malware--bytes just to make sure you don't have a more
serious problem.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Network Problems

2013-11-19 Thread Jorge Rivas
Hi Mike,
Definetly, your way works great, but you have to know how to set up the
drive to share.

4 years ago, I had set my self the Jorge Network consisting of two computers
only.
And my access was from one shared folder to the other in My Computer menu.
So, I had to have in the share folder what ever , I wanted to share.
Then, things started crashing and I never bother to set one up again.

Good Night.
