You'll be better off, if you upgrade to the Pro Versions.

And try the Free Hitman Pro, as a secondary Mallware protection.

[JAWS-Users] issue with jaws 15 in notepad

2014-02-24 Thread Velegi István

Hi everybody,

I have just installed latest version of Jaws 15 downloaded from fs.
An earlier version of jaws 14 is also present on my system because it is
a localized hungarian version and necessary for a program which requires
the hungarian components of that jaws version.

My problem is that in windows notepad, jaws 15 often skips lines, and
sometimes repeats them, I think especially when i am at the bottom edge
of the screen. The window size is set to "maximize", in system menu
which can be reached by pressingalt+space.

If you have any idea to solve the problem described above, please, help me.

Thank you for your help in advance.

Best regards,
Istvan Velegi

Re: [JAWS-Users] Router question

2014-02-24 Thread Steve
They talking about the Service Set Identifier SSID. Open your router,
probably with Uverse it is 192.168.1.254.

Go to wireless settings. The SSID is 2Wire followed by three digits that
are the last three of your serial number. Change it there.

When you save your changes, you'll need to enter your Modem password, which
is different from your uVerse account Pin.

[JAWS-Users] FS Reader 3.0

2014-02-24 Thread Mike B.
Hi All,

How do I read the training files with Jaws instead of Daisy? I've tried
opening a topic using the file menu, tabbing to open, & the F6 key & I just
can't seem to get Jaws to read the training material instead of Daisy. I
know I'm missing something simple but, it's frustrating at the moment. I'm
running Jaws 13 thru 15 & XP. All help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks
much.
Take care.

Hi Again,

I'm sorry but, I was using the Training option in the help menu but, using
the Jaws Help Topics option allows you to read the training material with

[JAWS-Users] Sharing Placemarkers

2014-02-24 Thread Mike B.
Hi All,

Last week someone was asking how to move their placemarkers to another
computer. Below explains how it's done:

Sharing PlaceMarkers

You can use Settings Packager to share your PlaceMarkers for a Web site
with other JAWS users. Settings Packager is a program that lets you save
speech and sound schemes, PlaceMarkers, and personalized Web settings in a
compressed .zip file that you can send in an e-mail message, post on a Web
site, or copy to removable storage media. You can also use Settings Packager
to import the settings contained in these .zip files into JAWS. To start
Settings Packager, press INSERT+F2, select "Settings Packager," and press
ENTER. For more information on using this program, open the Settings
Packager Help menu and choose Help Topics.

To share your PlaceMarkers with other JAWS users without using Settings
Packager:

Open your JAWS user settings folder from the Start Menu, All Programs, JAWS
X (where X is the JAWS version number), Explore JAWS, Explore My Settings.
Move to the PlaceMarkers folder and press ENTER. PlaceMarker information is
stored in .PMI files. Locate the .PMI file with the same name as the page
containing the PlaceMarkers you want to share. Copy this file and distribute
it to other users. These users then need to copy the .PMI file on their
PlaceMarkers folder by going to the Start Menu, All Programs, JAWS X (where
X is the JAWS version number), Explore JAWS, Explore My Settings and open
the PlaceMarkers folder. The users can now navigate that HTML page with your
PlaceMarkers.

Take care.

Mister Rivard,
Now, that I have your name straight, because River and Rivard sound the same
when jaws is reading fast.
Hitman Pro is one of the Mallware Microsoft Accessibility uses to remove
Mallware on the clients who calls their numver.
I downloaded the Hitman Pro free for 30 days and if, I like it I'll buy the
pro for $24.99, same price if, you would buy the Mywarebytes pro, unless you
bought the Thanksgiving special offer for $15.

If, I'm testing or trying a program,
I am not telling anyone to do monkey see monkey do!

River?? I'm not sure who that is, but if you're referring to me, it is
Rivard. Rhymes with yard, card, or hard. Screen readers, darn them,
anyway. (grin)

I just thought it odd that you recommend something and then say that you are
still testing it. I wouldn't recommend an untested piece of software.

[JAWS-Users] jaws and flash

2014-02-24 Thread Jamie Prater
Hi, all, as people put more and more flash content on their websites, they
make things less and less accessible to jaws users. This is very
frustrating particularly since it appears that youtube is one of the sites
among many others whose creators have elected to use something very
inaccessible to screen readers. Is there something I do not know about jaws
that I can use as far as keystrokes or something like that to get around
this problem? I've been using jaws since 1998, so if I am missing
something, I am open to learning something new. If this is not the case,
are there plans to bridge the gap between jaws and flash and similar
content? Thanks and have a blessed day.

I am aware EdSharp can edit text and RTF files, but I was not aware it has
special features to support the editing of HTML files. Does it support "what

Thank you for your suggestion.

Notepad++ is a general text and code editor, sort of like Notepad on
steroids.
Unlike Dreamweaver which is an html / css generator with a GUI
front-end, using Notepad++ requires you to know your html or css or C++
code.
I haven't used Dreamweaver with JAWS but suspect it might be OK if you
get rid of all the side panels etc.
The menu system is quite good; for example it is a very quick and simple
way to insert a table into a web page, certainly much easier and quicker
than hand coding every column and row.

Re: [JAWS-Users] How do you access a tab in Microsoft 2007 excel spreadsheet using Jaws 12

2014-02-24 Thread Annette Carr
I think you are saying that the workbook has multiple worksheets in it and
you want to get into another worksheet in the workbook, and if this is
correct do the following:

Control+Shift+S to open a JAWS dialog box listing all of the worksheets in
that workbook.

If my memory is correct, your focus will be on the worksheet at the top of
the list. This list has the first worksheet at the top and the last
worksheet at the bottom. It does not matter what worksheet you were just
working in, every time you open this JAWS dialog box your focus will be at
the top of the list.

Use your up and down arrow keys to move to the worksheet you want and press
enter to open it.

information. How do I access it using Jaws12?
Thanks
Scott

[JAWS-Users] an inaccessible web site.

2014-02-24 Thread jim rawls
Hi all,

The following is inaccessible to jaws readers.

www.ineedmydodgers.com.

It was set up to let Time Warner Cable know that some of us who have other TV
providers to let these providers carry Sportsnetla. The reason I am writing this
email is this. Is there something that FS can do to make sites like this
accessible
so we can at least use them? I had to get my sighted wife to register my name
etc.
On it. More and more of these kind of sites seem to be popping up, and I would
hope
something can be done about it.

Erick, enter here and tell us something. Smile. Jim

Re: [JAWS-Users] Bls: Accessible WYSIWYG HTML Editor

2014-02-24 Thread Flor Lynch
WYSIWYG is the acronym of initials for What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get.
Does that explain the matter.

Notepad++ is a general text and code editor, sort of like Notepad on
steroids.
Unlike Dreamweaver which is an html / css generator with a GUI
front-end, using Notepad++ requires you to know your html or css or
C++

code.
I haven't used Dreamweaver with JAWS but suspect it might be OK if
you

get rid of all the side panels etc.
The menu system is quite good; for example it is a very quick and
simple
way to insert a table into a web page, certainly much easier and
quicker

than hand coding every column and row.

Hi,

I know Notepadd++ is a text editor that supports HTML. Is it a "what
you

see is what you get" HTML editor as well?

I have not heard of arafnophilia. I will ceck it out.

Thank you for your suggestions.

Hi,

Apparently, I may not be able to get JAWS working with Adobe
Dreamweaver
CS 6, so I am looking for another HTML editor. Does anyone know
about a

WYSIWYG HTML editor that is accessible with JAWS 15?

Thank you.

I think you are saying that the workbook has multiple worksheets in it and
you want to get into another worksheet in the workbook, and if this is
correct do the following:

Control+Shift+S to open a JAWS dialog box listing all of the worksheets
Control+Shift+in
that workbook.

HTH,
Annette
