[JAWS-Users] Homepage Accessibility Problem

2014-06-25 Thread Liuda
I would like to share with you how I resolved a very frustrating
situation. I contacted my server and tried everything everyone and anybody
would suggest; nothing worked. Finally, I remembered that Handicap Tech
Support with Microsoft. Sure enough, a fellow in the Philippines resolved
my issue in about 15 minutes. On the Advanced tab in IE 10, everything was
reset so easily and it was a done deal. All was repaired like magic.
Hope this helps someone else in the future when their Homepage will not
display.
Thank you.
I am using Win 7 . JAWS 12 . IE 10.

I have never had any problems before.

I own a group, but when I go to my Homepage for this group, it is not
accessible and has no links.

All members can access this group now, but I cannot.

My server said it is not a problem with them.

Can someone tell me how to delete the Homepage and reconfigure it again
which might cause it to work properly?

If I knew where to go and what to do with JAWS, I would do it, in order to
fix this lack of access problem. I am the only one experiencing this
problem, so I think if I reconfigure it again, this could solve everything.

Thank you very much for all suggestions and help.

I confess..most of the time I just google the word I want and often find
what I need without going to the source. If I wanted a super
dictionary, I'd probably go to the Oxford English Dictionary, whose
specialty is word origins.

Hi Steve,

Would you please give steps on how & where to find & do the following:

When you open it, Jaws will think you are using Windows Mail, so you have
to
comment out the line in the Autostart that checks to see if you are
running

Vista. It thinks Windows 7 is Vista, so it returns a true if that part of
the AutoStart runs, in which case, it switches to using the scripts for
Windows Mail.

I've gotten OE to work on 1 Win7 computer but, I can't get it to work on 2
others. The reason it won't work on 1 of them is because WLM had been
installed at 1 time but, I can't get all the entries in the registry
removed

or, at least enough to make OE work. The 2nd computer has never had WLM
installed but, OE won't work on this computer either so, I'm wondering if
this auto start thing has something to do with it. Any help will be
greatly

appreciated. Thank you very much.

OE Classic is a different program than the OE that has been developed to
work with Windows 7. If you look at the OeClassic.com website, you'll see
that it uses a different file structure. It is intended to be simple like
Outlook Express, but it isn't the same program.

The OE for Windows 7 is available from
http://runasxp.com

You have to register to download the program.

Somebody on another list made an OutlookExpress.jsb and
.jss

file that does this, I don't know if Rick and Dave have put that in their
programs area on the website.

That is the program I'm using on my Windows 7 box as I write this. With
the

above modification, and the addition of a separate spellchecker, Outlook
Express seems to run exactly as it did in Xp.

Most people have gotten it to install fine. Mike has had trouble on a
couple of his Windows 7 computers, so as with any program, caveat emptor.

I ran across this program a few weeks ago and my first impression was
that

it isn't the most screen reader friendly peace of goods to come down the
pike so to speak. This morning I decided to take another look at it and
my

thoughts are even more negative.

I'm sending this message from OE on windows 7 and after a few weeks using
it
on this system it seems fine. Kind of like an old friend if you would
allow
me the bit of reflection.

The OE classic sounds like a nice deal but configuring it can be an

lesson in frustration to me at least.

because the system is overloaded because of all the other downloads going on

Maximize the window, then use Alt + screenprint, the screenprint is the left
hand key on the three group on the right for desktop anyway.
This will give you a nice screenprint of the active window. If you need more

If you have trouble finding the key then turn keyboard help on with jawsKey+1
on the number row.
This does give you a good screen shot.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws update notification:

2014-06-25 Thread LeDon
I'm sorry, I am so slow when it comes to these things. Let me ask you, what
is, JAWS basic submenu or dialogue, and how do you get to it? Thanks.

It's the "automatic notification of updates" checkbox , in the JAWS basic
submenu or dialogue. Go down about three times from the beginning there, and
you should find it. Check it with SPACEBAR.

Interesting, I tried downloading it on 2 different machines and no joy. On
my 64 bit system I tried a direct update using the option under the help
menu. Oh well it's off to the web site again to see it works. Possibly
because the system is overloaded because of all the other downloads going on
at this time.

I got the 64. Downloaded it without no issue. Did update from jaws and went
well.

I managed to download the 32 bit version but the link to the 64 bit version
is broken, at least so far as I can tell.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Screenshots

2014-06-25 Thread Greg Wocher

Hello,
If I need to take a screen shot I use a program called Screen Grab Pro.
It is a free program. When the screen is up that you need a screenshot
of, you open up Screen Grab Pro, alt plus tab back to the program you
need a screenshot of and press F9. Next you alt plus tab back to the
Screen Grab Pro window, you can save the file as one of a couple formats
giving it whatever name you want. I don't have the link for the programs
website handy but if you Google it you should find it fairly easily.
