Re: [JAWS-Users] Recommendations for some Email Programs
Windows Live Mail is also kind of sluggish especially with GMail via Imap. [JAWS-Users] Thunderbird vai Imap and having to refresh page
HI listers Using Windows7 32 with Jaws15, Thunderbird portable 3.31 since I haven't gotten later versions to cooperate, via IMap with GMail; I find I have to use Insert+Escape to refresh the EMail so that Jaws can read it, since it occasionally just says the title of the eMail and nothing appears onscreen. Is this normal behavior? Thanks for ideas because it can sometimes get a bit annoying having to every about three to four EMails, to refresh via Insert+escape to refresh! -- Enviado desde mi lap Gerardo J Corripio Flores Psicólogo, Terapéuta Reiki Saludos desde Tampico, Tamaulipas México RompiendoBarreras espacio de psicología/Superación Personal Sábados 10PM México http://radiogeneral.com ¡los esperamos! Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws & Imaging Programs
Search for a program called clone CD or clone DVD. I believe the company is known as sly soft or something of that nature. I have used it to backup some of my software disks such as Nero for example. Re: [JAWS-Users] Which OS is the best Windows7 or 8?
A gentleman by the name of Brian Smart has created an ISO for installing any and or all versions of Windows 7 using the NVDA screen reader. I have used it quite a number of times to install Windows 7 by myself. Just search for it and give it a look see. BTW it is over a 4 gig byte download. Given that the screen reader relies on the OS to be installed so it can be installed, and then run, I suspect the short answer is no. However, there are some very clever people on this list who may have a different answer. Re: [JAWS-Users] Which OS is the best Windows7 or 8?
You might be able to get part of an install done with a screen reader, but if you want something that is fool proof, you will want to consider making an unattended installation file. Believe me, when done right, it can save you time and work. If done wrong, it will make you pull your hair out. It seems to me, that those of us who have been using Windows computers for some time, find that Windows 7 is more user friendly, while a first time computer user who buys a Windows 8 or 8.1 PC becomes familiar with the interface of that operating system and the in's and out's of how to use it. Although I began using Windows at version 3.1, and probably have used most versions since then, I purchased a new computer with Windows 8.1 on it and installed Windows 8 on my old Windows 7 PC, then upgraded it to 8.1. I have become quite adept at using 8.1, and I like a lot of it. I will say however, that if it weren't for the ability to boot to the desktop and the use of a third party start menu program, I would not like it as well. Also I have now reverted back to windows 7 on my old PC because it seems to run better with that installed on it. So, what I am saying is, I think it all has to do with what one gets used to.
