Hi Glen,

Thank you very much for the heads up about Boot Nuke. This program has
been suggested I have it downloaded in case my wife insists' on helping!
LOL LOL Seriously though, I have a computer that needs to have Windows
reinstalled because of malware, worms, or trojans that I can't find by the
usual means so, programs such as these I'm saving to have on hand just in
case my computer dude doesn't already have them but, knowing him he's got
some sort of nuclear powered drive wiping program! Also, I can also play
aroung with programs just because it doesn't matter what I do to it at this
point. Kind of like getting revenge! LOL, hahaha hahaha hahaha, LOL

Hello Mike,
One of the best ways to deal with hard drive in general, whether it be
partitions etc, is to boot from a specific utility, a process which is
totally inaccessible to us JAWS users.
However, with some sighted assistance, utilities like Gparted for
manipulating drive structure / partitions is a safe and efficient way to
get this otherwise dangerous task completed.
Similarly inaccessible is Darik's Boot and Nuke for deleting the
contents of any hard disk but it's a great program.
Unfortunately, there are some tasks that may well be beyond us.

 Hello Mike,
I would urge extreme caution doing such things to a boot drive.
Remember that Windoze utilises free space to do lots of house keeping,
and there are lots of thing stored temporarily in RAM / cache.
I would expect Windoze to behave very defensively in this situation.

Hey Gang,
I have skype 6.1.8, windows7, and jaws 15.
When I'm in a conversation window, and I try to read the last one that
came
in with alt 1, it keeps on saying not in a conversation window, but I know
I

am.
What can I do?
Thanks for the help.

Respected friend, make sure that you have correctly setted some things.
1. You are using latest skype with the latest jaws and jaws 15.
2. Make sure that you have compect view, also you need to makesure that
you

have all checkboxes of notification checked.
Now whenever someone will send you any file, it will appear to a separate
window now you can accept or deny it easily.
For more information, you can add me to my skype contact list.
With regards from Inamuddin with the skype id: charlsdarwin1

Re: [JAWS-Users] choosing an item in a drop box

2014-08-05 Thread Flor Lynch
Press DOWN-ARROW twice quickly, or press it as many times quickly as it
takes to get to your required item in the list. (It may be some sort of
Java control, that automatically selects something for you after a
couple of seconds of inactivity.)

Here is the my library's web site that I am trying to log into. So
you can
see if you can choose Alexander Mitchell library in the library drop
down
list. I tried to do what you said in the below email and it took me
to the
first library that started with an A. Then it automatically took the
focus
to the password number. I cannot figure out how to get around this.
Any

help with be greatly appreciated.

Ok, when you do the alt down arrow then press the letter you want when
you
get to the place do an alt up arrow give this a try, what site is this
and I

can test it for you if you like?

If I did not use the alt and just use the down arrow it went to the
first name then went automatically to the library number box. Do you
have any other ideas how I can stop this from happening?

Ok, when you are in the combo box try doing an alt down arrow and
then
picking the library that you want and then do an alt up arrow to
close

the combo box.

Hi Group,

I am not sure exactly how to explain my problem but I will do my
best.

When

I go to my libraries web site and go to where to log on the site
there is

a
drop box with a list of libraries in the list. when I hit the
letter

a to take me to my library that begins with an A the first one that
comes up is

a

different library. So what happens is that as soon as I hit the a
the

focus

is move to the library number. The web site automatically move the
focus

to

the library number as soon as a library name is chosen. This drop
box

does

not allow me to arrow down the drop box to select my library. As
soon as

I

try to arrow down it chooses the first library in the list and then
move

the

focus to the library number field. So my question is how do I keep
or use JAWS to select the correct library in this drop down box?

Thanks in advance

Re: [JAWS-Users] CCleaner Its Drive Wiper Tool

2014-08-05 Thread Mike B.
Hi Mario,

With CCleaner's Drive Wiper tool you can wipe just the free space not the
whole drive. I guess I wasn't clear enough in my original post but, that's
what I was asking about. Thank you very much for your reply.
Take care.

I disagree because how can you wipe a hard drive while it is in use?
the only way I see to wipe is to access it as an external hard drive, either
thru USB or preferably ESATA.

You are going to have to get into safe mode and run CCleaner from there.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] CCleaner Its Drive Wiper Tool

 Hi All,

I am trying to use CCleaner's Drive Wiper tool keep getting the
 following
message at around 50% when using the Advanced or Complex Overwrite
 options:

 ***
 CCleaner
The process cannot access the file because another process has locked a
 portion of the file.
 OK
 ***

Jaws does not tell me which process is locking out the Drive Wiper
 process.
Is CCleaner supposed to show me which process is locking
out the Drive Wiper process Jaws just is not able to see it? I have
 tried
with both my Anti Virus disabled enabled with the same
results. I'm running XP Pro Jaws 13, CCleaner 4.16. Has anyone ran
 across
this knows what process might be causing the locking out of the Drive
Wiper process? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very
 much.

 Take care.
 Mike
