Hello,

I do use Office 365 on my Windows 8.1 machine and JAWS 15. I like it very
well., different, but better than 2010 in many ways.

I would turn off your screen reader when doing that as it might tell you

that issue again.

Hi Becky.
If you are using a Desktop style keyboard, the suggestions made should work
fine. Hold down Control and the Alt key. Press the right arrow twice. The
first click will put it sideways and the second click should return
everything to a normal display.
It would be best, as was suggested by another member, that you have someone
sighted around to confirm the setting.
But as Linda and I know, that isn't always possible. We live alone and we
know more about computers than our neighbors do. We hate asking for that

Hi,
Voice Dream Reader can access files in DropBox. So, I just copy the PDF
files into the DropBox folder on my PC. Then they are synced to my iOS
device and I can then open them in Voice Dream Reader. For the last course
that I took, I received the textbooks in PDF format. I loaded them into VDR
and read them there. Much easier than reading them with Adobe Reader. Plus,
they are portable, so I can read or reference them on the go. Very handy.

Re: [JAWS-Users] screen upside down

2014-08-24 Thread Steve

I think you can do this with a passkey through (Jaws-3).

Also, you should be able to go into the graphics options once you get it
right and disable the hotkeys so you don't encounter that problem in the
future.

Take my advice, I don't use it anyway.

Becky,

As was said below. Alt + Ctl + up arrow. However, I think you may need to
do

an Insert F4 to take Jaws off while you are completing the task. Jaws uses
this key sequence for moving through tables, and in normal circumstances,
doesn't affect the screen.

Hope this helps

hey Rich,
windows media center is a program to watch tv through your pc. you
need a tv tuner card, and an HDMI cable to use it. as for stopping
startup of windows media center, the only way I know of is to go into
the system configuration utility and disable it there. press windows+r
to get to the run dialog, and type msconfig. go to the survices tab by
pressing control+tab. look for windows media center their and uncheck
the windows media center box. it will say running and unchecking it
stops the survice from running at startup. .

Re: [JAWS-Users] Accessibility of Foxit Pdf reader with JAWS

2014-08-24 Thread John M.

Hi,
Voice Dream Reader can access files in DropBox.
Very handy.

Hello John,
Your reply was interesting to read.
I was wondering or can you tell me how you move a PDF document into the
Voice Dream reader app to read a PDF, just to have another option
available

for some reason.

Thanks in advance,

Jorge

FoxIt used to be accessible. But changes to the program have made it
inaccessible for at least three years now. If you have an iOS device, by
far

the most reliable way to access a PDF document is using the Voice Dream
Reader app. I still use Adobe Reader for short PDF documents, but I now
put

longer PDF files into Voice Dream Reader and it makes reading them so much
better.

Hello gang.
Using Win8 and JAWS15.
My employer forces us to view certain internal documents I need for my
work, in Foxit PDF reader. Reading these internal PDF's in any other Pdf
reader is not an option.
My investigation reveals that the PDF documents I can read in Adobe
reader

using JAWS cannot be read at all using Foxit reader. Clearly, Foxit
reader

appears to be inaccessible to screen readers out-of-the-box.
Are you aware of any scripts or tricks/adjustments, that make documents
opened in Foxit Reader accessible to JAWS?

Hello Becky, the following should help you.
Rotating Screen

Press control plus alt plus any arrow key and your screen will rotate. You
will need sighted assistance to know when you have it in the correct position,
but this should work

In the search box on the home page, type "JAWS Old Versions".

I just went to the freedom scientific homepage, and has it changed, because
I can’t find my way to the archived jaws downloads. I need to repair the
jaws 12 version I have on my laptop, so says jaws, because they say that the
version I have now, won’t operate on mozilla firefox.
