Ann Marie,

Do you know your serial number? If so, you can go to www.fsactivate.com
and retrieve your activation key. Just follow the instructions on the
page, it takes a few minutes and there will be about 3 or 4 different
pages to open up during the process, but just scroll down and read what
it

tells you to do. You can then download the JAWS 15 file from the Freedom
Scientific Downloads webpage. JAWS 15 will now be found under the Past
or

Old versions of JAWS link. If you do not know the serial number, I am
afraid that you will only be able to use JAWS in the 40 minute demo
mode.

Another option is if you have someone at home who can retrieve the
serial

number off of the software packaging for you. Good luck.

Re: [JAWS-Users] problem updating AVG free

2014-11-03 Thread Bob

Try downloading it from ninite.com
Just tick the avg check box and hit the button.
You will need Jawskey + B to read the install dialogue but it is all
automated so you only need to read that it is finished.

The program prompts me to upgrade, but that's not at all JAWS friendly, So,
I went to C net to do the download and install, but I've hit a snag. You
come to a button where you choose which version you want. You've already
begun by clicking the link for the free version, but the company would
really like you to opt for the paid version. So, the button where you
choose which version you want is set at their recommendation to try the paid
version for 30 days free. I can't hear the other choices so can't choose
them!

I'm using win 7 and jaws 15. Thanks, Karen

This is becoming quite annoying. When I try to read the local paper
sometimes jaws starts reading the html code for the article. It may be 6 or
7 pages that I have to try and get through to find the story.
Does this happen to anyone else and how can I prevent it. I am using latest

I don't think Mike's procedure is correct. I don't think FsActivate will

 Ann Marie,

Do you know your serial number? If so, you can go to www.fsactivate.com
and retrieve your activation key. Just follow the instructions on the
page, it takes a few minutes and there will be about 3 or 4 different
pages to open up during the process, but just scroll down and read what it
tells you to do. You can then download the JAWS 15 file from the Freedom
Scientific Downloads webpage. JAWS 15 will now be found under the Past or
Old versions of JAWS link. If you do not know the serial number, I am
afraid that you will only be able to use JAWS in the 40 minute demo mode.
Another option is if you have someone at home who can retrieve the serial
number off of the software packaging for you. Good luck.

[JAWS-Users] I'm having a strange issue with skype

2014-11-03 Thread randy tijerina

friends, I'm at my wits end.
yesterday morning all was well with skype.
I decided to do a search. No big deal, right? I was doing a contact search.
I suddenly have two strange things happening.
1. I get an announcement of...these scripts do not match the current
version of skype.
and, while I am in a skype window.or even arrowing up or down. I
get a series of dings, dings, dings, dings.
Now when I even go to tools and options.jaws is reading the
treeviews like this. treeview.1 of 11. Nothing like...treeview
settings 1 of 11. or skype calls.
i've tried to re-install the blasted programme and scripts until the
cows come home!. I still get the same thing.
I'm seriously thinking of getting another messenger..but What
programme will let me use my microsoft account?

I'm using jaws16 and windows 7 home.
