CII has certain voluntary codes and publications for employment of
people with disability in corporate sector, and notably they have been
conducting job fairs as well.

One of the voluntary code with which CII had come out was Corporate
Code on Disability in January 2014. The same is available on their
website as well.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] mass deletion of duplicate tracks in iTunes

Hello list,

Somehow, I’ve ended up with duplicate tracks on multiple albums. They
probably run into the thousands and I’d like to delete them. I found the
following on Apple’s site: http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT2905

This is fine if it were only a few tracks, but I’d like to be able to delete
them all at once or at least in large batches. This option isn’t mentioned
in the support article. Does anyone in fact know how how this can be done?
Either with iTunes itself or a Jaws accessible third party software? Way
back when, I had actually come across some scripts for this exact issue on
my XP machine, but that was many moons ago and my XP Pro computer gave up
the ghost a while back and I can’t recall where I found those scripts.

Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

what about Vipre Internet Security/Vipre Antivirus? Although the 2015
version is said to have screen reader compatibility issues, it is being
worked on to fix those issues. But in the meantime, 2014 can still be used,
with a reg file to prevent 2014 from automatically upgrading to 2015, and a
reg file to allow the upgrade once it's okay for us blind users to do so.

Hello there
Well, there may be a better or easier way but this way works for me
1 find the document you want and while selected
2 press the application key and up arrow to send to sub menu
3 right arrow to open and down arrow one time to desk top and enter
Now that document is on your desk top
If you desire a short cut/hot key for this then
While on desk top select the document and use
alt enter to go to properties
now use the tab key and get to short cut/hot key
here put in what you wish for your desired hot key
tab through to okay and enter
Now you not only have a hot key for this document but this is also on your
desk top as well.

If you wish not to have this on your desk top
Just highlight/select it from the desk top and presss the delete key
which will put it in your recycle bin
or
or shift delete which will remove it permmanently
Hope these keystrokes help you

I think that calling tech support is good advice, because you may have a
faulty JAWS installation. There's perhaps another thing. I know that
with Window Eyes, certain menu choices are locked out depending on the
user level you choose, I. e. beginner, intermediate, or advanced. Could
that be the same case for JAWS?

[JAWS-Users] Issue with Jaws 16

2014-11-21 Thread Pinky
Hi Group,

A friend of mine is having a problem with JAWS 16. Here is his problem
below.

Hello, all. I am wondering if anyone is experiencing this frustration with
JAWS 16 and if you have any suggestions (besides going back to JAWS 15) of a
setting I might check on my computer.

I am using JAWS 16 on a Fujitsu laptop, Windows 7 64-bit. I have 8 mb of RAM
and a 2.1 processor.

When I read through a document line by line, using the down arrow, JAWS
often rereads the line, even though I have pressed DownArrow. In addition, I
am a fast typer, and sometimes I notice skipped letters. I could blame this
on my typing, but I did not see it until I installed JAWS 16.

I contacted FS Technical Support and, upon their recommendation, did a
repair of the install. As that made no difference, I uninstalled JAWS and
all shared components and reinstalled from the DVD. Still no success!

This is the most frustrated I have been with a JAWS release in many years.
Again, I am wondering if there is a setting I need to check on my computer,
but all other versions of JAWS run smoothly.

Any suggestions you can give me would be much appreciated.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Downloading books from audible.com with JAWS 14 andWindows 7

2014-11-21 Thread Miriam Vieni
Have you installed the Audible Manager?
Have you authorized the stream with an SD card in it?
Those are the first things that you need to have done before you can
download a book.
If you have difficulty doing those things, an Audible tech person can help
you remotely. In the U.S., the number is 1-888-283-5051. There should also
be directions in the VR Stream manual and FAQ. I have the first generation
stream and there were directions for that so I assume they now have them for
the second generation stream as well. Also, there's a blind audible list. To
subscribe,
Send a blank email to:
blindaudiblelisteners-subscr...@yahoogroups.com

If you have the Audible manager and if you've authorized your stream, you
may have realized that the books in My Library are in a table format. The
download link is at the end of each row for each part of the book.
You can use the companion software to transfer the book to your SD card by
pressing control U to get to the books in your audible folder on your
computer. Or you can cut and paste them into the $VRAudible folder on your
SD card. Or you can do it the slower way by connecting your stream to the
computer and transferring the books directly from Audible Manager.

I have the first generation
stream and there were directions for that so I assume they now have them
for
the second generation stream as well. Also, there's a blind audible list.

I would have to upgrade to Magic 12 and the last time I tried this, I found
Magic 12 very difficult because it was so different from magic 11.

2014-11-21 Thread Miriam Vieni
Arianna,

Yes, I do remember you from those trips. That was a long time ago and a lot
has changed. Anyway, the stream being registered with NLS doesn't have
anything to do with being authorized for Audible. Is this a new stream and
is the book in your audible account from an account connected with an old
stream?

If this is a second generation stream, I think you need to ask about this on
the VR Stream users' list because you're talking about using the stream to
download directly from Audible. I don't have a second generation stream or a
smart phone and I don't know how the Y Fi works with the stream.

Well, Miriam, thanks for all that information. My Stream is registered with
NLS. It shows up in Audible Manager. I purchase one book and still have
one credit left in audible.

The thing is, I can't find the book I purchased as a credit. My second
generation Stream is connected but the book doesn't show up anywhere in
there. There is an Audible folder in the Stream, though no books are in it.

Strange.

Do you remember Lou and me from the two Italy trips with Bob wilhelm? We
remember you.

I'm not sure if that is one of the sources of the problem, but I did
uninstall it and then reinstall it and that did the trick. At least the JAWS
search command is showing up in my list of managers now.
Having said that, I still need to call them as my OCR is definitely not
reading PDF's. When I press space bar and insert and then the letter O, all
is good until I press the letter D, and then it says OCR has failed to
start.
Maybe I am doing it wrong. I'll have to check the directions again to find
out.

Thanks for the feedback.

This may not help, but there is a way to subscribe to Lead Pass, free. I
can not tell you how because my wife got me subscribed, but she can't
remember how she did it. I listened to a San Antonio game earlier this
week. We got to the screen that listed the time of the game and I could
pick which announcer I wanted. I have not figured it all out, but it is
possible.

Hi list,

My name is Joseph Lamperis. I had a question regarding the Chicago Bulls
game broadcast.
Do you know of any websites that would broadcast the Chicago bulls game with
Jaws?
The bulls games are banned due to the NBa regulations. What would be the
most free without having to get an account?
I heard a user talking about Panda Antivirus.
I know someone who uses that without Jaws.
