I think this works in Firefox as well as IE.

Turn the virtual cursor off.

J goes back, K is play/pause, L goes forward.

Helo.
When on youtube.com using Firefox as the browser, what are the keystrokes to
pause/play, skip forward and skip back controls?

[JAWS-Users] Start Menu

2015-03-19 Thread Trish
Good Morning Yall,

I need to run this by list.

Lately, when I first turn on my windows 7 laptop and sometimes after doing a
reboot, the start menu is not there.
Instead I hear my clock time and another clock displaying the date. I obtain
this info by jaws key+#8/up arrow on numpad. The title keys, jaws key+T just
says blank.

So I first checked the default programs which I found 12 items, the only one
that seemed to fit was, the search explorer. I tabbed one time and it gave a
brief description of what that did.
It seemed sort of like the start menu, but I didn't default it or anything.

Then I visited the jaws list web site and found this, but this I think will
not be the right move to take, unless it's just pertaining to the start menu
and not restoring my entire laptop back to factory settings. I am pasting what
I am referring to below as I wanted to ask the list about this.

If there is another way to get my start menu back on track, would someone
please tell me?

Thanks for any help!

Trish

Give these steps a try to reset the start menu to factory defaults.

1. go to your desktop.
2. now tab until you hear Start button.
3. press the applications key.
4. enter on Properties.
5. enter on the customize button.
6. press enter on Use default settings.
7. press enter on OK.

I am trying to bypass a webmail client that is less than friendly, but then,
I don't like webmail all that much and this one has no headings, no fast way

Ctrl+Shift+F to do the find dialog. Then you can make choices as to how

I have found lately, that in Firefox, you must use the space bar instead of

particularly true if there are a lot of form fields on the page where the

Hello there;
This may help some using outlook 200720102013

Using Find In MSOutlook20072010 Using Jaws Locating All Messages By One
Sender:
This will work in any mailbox E.g., in-box, sent-box etc.
1. Press ctrl+shift+the letter f=advance-find.
2. Tab three times=fromedit.
3. Type in a sender's first or last name.
4. Press enter.
5. Press the f6key and you are put into the list of messages by the sender
you searched for.
6. If you open a message to read it, press escape once to close it. Then
move to the next one to read.
7. If you open a message to read and do not wish to read any more, press
escape twice and you are placed back in to the original location were the
search was started. This means if you were in the in-box when starting the
search, pressing escape twice will return you back to the in-box. Pressing
escape once will only return you to the list of messages found in the
search.

***

II. Searching For A Specific Topic In A Subject Field:
1. Press ctrl+shift+the letter f.

 2. Type a word that would be found in the subject line you are searching
for.

3. Press enter.

4. Press f6 and you are put into the list of messages containing the subject
line searched for.

5. If you open a message to read it, press escape once to close it. Then
move to the next one to read.

6. If you open a message to read and do not wish to read any more, press
escape twice and you are placed back in to the original location were the
search was started. This means if you were in the in-box when starting the
search, pressing escape twice will return you back to the in-box. Pressing
escape once will only return you to the list of messages found in the
search.

another way to do this is,

example,
within the inbox,
ctrl+e= edit search,
now type in the search word,

now, shift+tab twice,
you will see the list of messages pertaining to the search criteria

another way is;
from inside the inbox for example, press the f3key, type in search criteria,
shift+tab to the results.

hope this helps.

Thanks for the instructions for advanced searching in Outlook. I figured
out that after you activate the search button, press F6 to jump to the list
of results. You can then use your Up and Down arrows to navigate the
results, and press enter to read the actual message.

Ctrl+Shift+F to do the find dialog. Then you can make choices as to how
Ctrl+Shift+much
you search, and by which filters. When the search is complete, you may need
to use the JAWS cursor to get to the list and press the left mouse button.
Then focus is on the list of found messages and you can navigate as usual

Hello Annette;
Typically, Outlook (by default) searches emails in the current folder you
are in.
Have you tried;
Alt+f,
Up arrow to options press enter,

Now, press letter S=search,
Now tab until you hear;
Current folder radio button checked,
Down arrow you will hear,
All folders checked,
Now tab
Okay press enter.

Hope this helps.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Start Menu

Good Morning Yall,

I need to run this by list.

Lately, when I first turn on my windows 7 laptop and sometimes after doing a
reboot, the start menu is not there.
Instead I hear my clock time and another clock displaying the date. I obtain
this info by jaws key+#8/up arrow on numpad. The title keys, jaws key+T
just says blank.

I am pasting
what I am referring to below as I wanted to ask the list about this.

Tom,

I have found lately, that in Firefox, you must use the space bar instead of

particularly true if there are a lot of form fields on the page where the

Subject: [JAWS-Users] 40 minute mode?

 This morning:
turned the laptop on, all was fine. I get to work, 40 minute mode kicks in, so
I restart my system, still 40 minute mode, I turn off jaws and restart jaws,
still 40 minute mode, I turn off jaws 16 and turn on jaws 15, no 40 minute
mode. What is going on here folks, and why is jfw 16 being a hater? How do I
resolve this. I can't call fs tech, because they do not have an 800 number,
and I can't call here at work. thank you

Thanks. I was hoping for a more immediate response for help. I'm
impatient lol just kidding. 800 numbers are expensive, though for
anyone to haveI'll email them.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Outlook2010 searching for an e-mail

2015-03-19 Thread Reed Poynter
Hi Annette,

Under File/Options, there is a Search tab where you can change this.
So, when you'r in your folder of messages:
hit Alt-F followed by T,
Hit right-arrow 6 times to land on Search,
Hit Tab 2 times to land on current Folder...,
Hit down-arrow to change it to All Folders,
Hit tab and check other options and the OK button.
At least this is what happens for me.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Outlook2010 searching for an e-mail

Hi All,

I am using JAWS14 and Outlook2010 on a Windows7 computer. I am trying to
find an e-mail that is located in any one of many possible folders. How do
I do a search and tell that search to look in the current folder and all sub
folders? I frequently use the search box that is located 2 Shift+Tabs away
from the list of e-mails. The problem is that this search only works in the
currently opened folder and not any of its subfolders. Is there a way to
change where this search looks for matches?

Thanks,

Annette

Ctrl+Shift+F to do the find dialog. Then you can make choices as to how much
you search, and by which filters. When the search is complete, you may need
to use the JAWS cursor to get to the list and press the left mouse button.
Then focus is on the list of found messages and you can navigate as usual
with the cursor.

In your JAWS dialog, go to help and find the Update Authorization.
