[JAWS-Users] Start Menu
Good Morning Yall, I need to run this by list. Lately, when I first turn on my windows 7 laptop and sometimes after doing a reboot, the start menu is not there. Instead I hear my clock time and another clock displaying the date. I obtain this info by jaws key+#8/up arrow on numpad. The title keys, jaws key+T just says blank. So I first checked the default programs which I found 12 items, the only one that seemed to fit was, the search explorer. I tabbed one time and it gave a brief description of what that did. It seemed sort of like the start menu, but I didn't default it or anything. Then I visited the jaws list web site and found this, but this I think will not be the right move to take, unless it's just pertaining to the start menu and not restoring my entire laptop back to factory settings. I am pasting what I am referring to below as I wanted to ask the list about this. If there is another way to get my start menu back on track, would someone please tell me? Thanks for any help! Trish Give these steps a try to reset the start menu to factory defaults. 1. go to your desktop. 2. now tab until you hear Start button. 3. press the applications key. 4. enter on Properties. 5. enter on the customize button. 6. press enter on Use default settings. 7. press enter on OK. Hello Annette; Typically, Outlook (by default) searches emails in the current folder you are in. Have you tried; Alt+f, Up arrow to options press enter, Now, press letter S=search, Now tab until you hear; Current folder radio button checked, Down arrow you will hear, All folders checked, Now tab Okay press enter. So, when you'r in your folder of messages: hit Alt-F followed by T, Hit right-arrow 6 times to land on Search, Hit Tab 2 times to land on current Folder..., Hit down-arrow to change it to All Folders, Hit tab and check other options and the OK button.
