It mostly takes doing that twice, the first Alt-Tab usually take me
someplace else, like right now I was in Internet Explorer when it went to
the Start button; I pressed Alt-Tab and it went to MS Outlook 2010; released
it; pressed Alt-Tab again and it took me back to IE again

Hi Vy,

If you are using firefox the copy full content using on screen highlight
does not work. This is what another list member posted:
From: Londa Peterson
Freedom Scientific had a free webinar on Firefox. One of the things they
talked about was the differences between the two. One of those differences
was that Firefox can only select and copy from the virtual cursor. It can't
copy the on-screen content. I suspect this is a limitation of Firefox. This
is one of the reasons I won't switch to it as my default browser. I do keep
it on my machines and use it for certain things.

[JAWS-Users] Question About Language Changing On Tandem Sessions.

2015-04-21 Thread Ignacio
Hi everyone.

My question is that every time I try to do a tandem session, the language
changes to Spanish when I connect with another person, how can I fix this?

I have tried fixing it by changing the voice profile, before doing the
tandem session, but it still changes no matter what. I do use JAWS in
English and Spanish, so I'm wondering if it might be a setting somewhere
that I might need to adjust.

If someone can answer this, I would appreciate it.

Thank you in advance.

I have tried pressing the spacebar, the enter key and spacebar plus enter

I called EverSource and they said nothing is wrong with their webpage.

Does anyone else use this for electric and is there a way around the

Hi All,

Recently I've begun having a problem with my keyboard during remote access
sessions. I am remoting into my work computer when suddenly (usually when the
computer has locked due to inactivity) the keyboard stops functioning. When I
press any key Jaws reports what that key does like up arrow, space, tab or
enter, but does not perform the function. The only way to regain keyboard
control is by rebooting the computer with a press of the on/off button.

I used to see this problem in earlier releases of jaws, but it disappeared and
has stayed gone for quite a while. Is anyone else seeing this weirdness? Any
idea what might be the cause?

Thanks,
Kimber

access sessions. I am remoting into my work computer when suddenly
(usually when the computer has locked due to inactivity) the keyboard
stops functioning. When I press any key Jaws reports what that key
does like up arrow, space, tab or enter, but does not perform the
function. The only way to regain keyboard control is by rebooting the
computer with a press of the on/off button.

I used to see this problem in earlier releases of jaws, but it
disappeared and has stayed gone for quite a while. Is anyone else
seeing this weirdness? Any idea what might be the cause?

Thanks,
Kimber

Jim and anyone else interested, when you come across a protected docx,
the quick way is initiating the alt+f then i and e keystroke.

the other way is to use the JAWS cursor to find and click the "edit"
(not sure if it's a link or button) towards the top, about 3, 4 or 5
lines down and to the right.

Press that button by using the spacebar and the document should convert from
Protected View to normal display. Different versions of Office call this

There may be a hotkey for that purpose but I don't remember what it is.

  Trish,

Put your JAWS installation file onto an empty flash drive, and rename the
drive to something that starts with a letter that you have no other drive
named with. Boot up your computer, and press Windows key + D to ensure that
you are on the desktop. Computer should be the upper most icon on the left
side of your screen, therefore pressing Control + the Home key should focus
you on the icon to open Computer. Now, press the first letter of the name
that you gave your flash drive which contains only the jaws installation
file. Press enter to open the drive, and then the space bar to select the
file. Now press enter, and you will hear the tone that accompanies the User
Account Control, and press the down arrow and then the up arrow to find the
Yes button, and press enter or space bar. JAWS will start installing and the
voice guided installation will start and lead you through the process. Hope
this helps, I have used this method many times.

If you're talking about the out of box setup experience also known as
oob, you have to use Narrator for that. If the computer is windows 8 or
above, press windows+enter about 3 minutes after you hit the power
button the first time. Hopefully, you'll get narrator speech which you
can use to finish out of box setup. You can then install jaws by using
narrator to get the process started. Close narrator and finish setup
with jaws's own speech.

Btw, on windows 8 and up, close narrator with windows+enter again just
like you did to start it.

Cheers, Sent with Thunderbird 31.3.0 portable

Re: [JAWS-Users] latest Jaws update

2015-04-21 Thread Kimber Gardner
I have installed NVDA for those times when jaws crashes. It has saved
me quite a few times. I wouldn't want to use it as my primary screen
reader option, but for the purpose of getting out of a jam it's fine.
