[JAWS-Users] Outlook 2010 saying click here to show images

2015-10-01 Thread Kurt Miller
Hi,

In my Outlook 2010, when I open an email it will tell me that for your
privacy Outlook has blocked images and click here to get them. Now normally
I don't need images but in these emails, to get the links to open for the
specials they are offering I need to display these images. Does one know how
to achieve this task? I tried to rout JAWS to pc and go to the top of the
message, when doing this I find the area to click, and I used the left mouse
click with the caps lock 8 in laptop mode but when I did this it sent my
Outlook to the Outlook data files and did nothing. I had to do a system
restore to get my Outlook back to giving me emails again.

If anyone has some advice on this, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

Kurt

There is a link on the page that reads, " Mobile and home PC users", if you
had seen and clicked on this link, you would have been directed to the right
page. However, the information can also be found at www.vipreantivirus.com.

Hello, all
Looking for a good antivirus. I was using AVG free version but it kept going

Hello randy,
you can find windows update by performing the following steps. 1. Press
windows+I to get to settings. 2. Right arrow to update and security, down
arrow will not work in the settings app. 3. The first item is windows
update. 4. Press enter.5. Windows update will check for any available
updates , if it finds any, they will be downloaded and installed
automatically, on all versions of windows 10, including insider preview
builds, of which I am running the latest, build 10537.
Hope this helps,

[JAWS-Users] Cortana in Windows 10

2015-10-01 Thread Marks, Jim
I apologize for asking a question that's almost certainly been asked and
answered previously. For the life of me, I can't find what I'm looking for.

How does one turn Cortana off and on using keyboard commands?

When I search from either the start button or the search button, my computer
says "Cortana," and I get stuck. Even when I type something, all Jaws reports
is the word, "Cortana," and perhaps another line. I cannot tab or use the Jaws
cursor.

Thanks much in advance!

[JAWS-Users] AVG killed JAWS

2015-10-01 Thread Neil Towery
Hello Gang:

A VA rep installed AVG 2015 on a desktop and laptop in the past few days.
JAWS was killed on both computers.

Is that a problem with AVG 2015? Or, were we suppose to tell AVG to leave
JAWS alone? Neither she nor I did that. And, I received no prompts asking if
there were to be any exceptions to the A V G doing its job.

 So, who screwed up.us or A V G?

If it was us, how do I solve the problem, if I put A V G back on the

Re: [JAWS-Users] Cortana in Windows 10

2015-10-01 Thread jim

Did you uninstall, and reinstall Jaws, after upgrading to w-10?
This sounds like the behavior you get when not doing a fresh install of
Jaws.

No keystroke to turn on and off cortana.
You either have cortana set up or not.
Type, cortana and search settings into your search edit field.
Press enter on, cortana and search settings.
Some where along the way of tabbing and Shift+tabbing, you will see
settings.

Set cortana up.
Now when you press Windows key+C, you can ask cortana questions and she will
answer you.

Window key+S, you can type questions for cortana to answer.
These are the two main keystrokes to use cortana.
Good luck...

I'm not sure AVG is the one for all the blame in this case. I'd say the
VA had no business installing software unless they asked first. I
personally have AVG free 2015 on 2 computers, both running Jaws
16.0.4350 and don't have any problems. I'd be curious as to which
version of AVG was installed. If they installed a trial of AVG Internet
Security I could see that messing with Jaws. In particular, the firewall
could be blocking Jaws from running, in which case you would probably
have to pull up Narrator to find this out. This assumes that Narrator
can read the dialog box presented by AVG. Jaws works for reading the
boxes, but NVDA for example has problems.

Hi.
You can add the terminal and remote access support to home addition with
a one time fee as far as I understand. Pro doesn't have those by
default either, it's just where you're legally allowed to install JAWS
that is the only difference I'm aware of.

I talked to an FS rep today, and he said that we should have made JAWS an

that. I have no experience in installing anti-virus software.
I think what we will do is re-install AVG, and go through the steps to make
Freedom Scientific software an exception.
So, it sounds like there is plenty of blame to go around, including the VA

[JAWS-Users] KBD command in Excel to list all cells with drop down list or combo box

2015-10-01 Thread Dujari, Prateek
Hello there. Win8, JFW6, Office 2010.
Is there a JAWS command in Excel that lists all cells in the worksheet
containing a drop down list or combo box?
JAWS command 'alt down-arrow' opens a drop down list or combo box if it exists
in the cell in focus. Then I am able to arrow up and down the dropped list or
combo box and hit enter on any of the choices to activate it. But JAWS does not
announce the presence of such a drop down list or combo box in a cell as you
navigate around from cell to cell using the arrow keys making it impossible to
become aware of such a drop down list or combo box. With respect to objects,
tis problem does not exist as JAWS has the keystroke combo 'ctrol shift O' that
lists all the objects and their respective cell in the worksheet in focus. Is
there a similar command for JAWS to list all the cells in a worksheet that
contain a drop down list or combo box?

I kept the professional because of a job I was doing at home, not right now,
however, but possibilities could arise.
I also think, that I inadvertently had an up-to-date SMA and paid for two
more years, so I may be able to go to Jaws 19 or 20, LOL. Wanted to be sure
I guess. It would be like me to have done that.

I understand that the prices and licenses are different.

Yes Kevin, that is how it works. You just keep the same license key for the
duration, and each year you can go to the Vipre web site and click on the
update link to download the next years version. You will also get an E-mail
confirmation that the new version is ready for download when it becomes

You probably only want to go for the single user subscription since I
believe you said that you had only the one computer. I would probably
either download the trial version to try or purchase the 1 year license. If
you do like the program, then you can up grade to the lifetime subscription
if you want to. I have no regrets at having bought the lifetime license 6
years ago, and have had no trouble in upgrading to the newest version every
year. I use the Internet Security by the way.

Re: [JAWS-Users] KBD command in Excel to list all cells with drop down list or combo box

2015-10-01 Thread Annette Carr
I am using Windows7, JAWS16 and Office2010, at work on a 32bit machine, and
at home on a 64bit machine. When I navigate to a cell in Excel that is
formatted for a dropdown list, JAWS does announce it most of the time.
Sometimes I do have to close everything and reboot the computer, but this is
to most often resolve the problem of JAWS not reading a number of things in
Excel including cell contents with F2, and the contents of dropdown lists.
As best as I can remember, even in the state of not reading cell content,
JAWS still told me that the cell I was focused on was a dropdown list.

Hello there. Win8, JFW6, Office 2010.
Is there a JAWS command in Excel that lists all cells in the worksheet
containing a drop down list or combo box?
JAWS command 'alt down-arrow' opens a drop down list or combo box if it
exists in the cell in focus. Then I am able to arrow up and down the dropped
list or combo box and hit enter on any of the choices to activate it. But
JAWS does not announce the presence of such a drop down list or combo box in
a cell as you navigate around from cell to cell using the arrow keys making
it impossible to become aware of such a drop down list or combo box. With
respect to objects, tis problem does not exist as JAWS has the keystroke
combo 'ctrol shift O' that lists all the objects and their respective cell
in the worksheet in focus. Is there a similar command for JAWS to list all
the cells in a worksheet that contain a drop down list or combo box?

if you would like to use the classic site. It's a link.

I sent a payment the other day and hahaha I was so lost, so I clicked the
classic site, so then the person got paid.

I only use what comes up when I go to PayPal, did not know they had a
"classic site. I am so disappointed with all issues that are piling up on
me at the moment but that is neither here are there, just I seem to be
having a run of horrible luck lately.

Just a thought, have you used the paypal classic site?
The new layout, I can manage, but I don't like it. I seriously hate change
lol.

Cannot be done at least not here, Webvism finally installed on Firefox but I
never got a user name or ID so it is a bust. Two things I hate right now
are CAPTCHA and PayPal.
Both could disappear never to be seen or heard of again, trying to make
purchase through PP using my credit card, no dice, again with either browser
on two different computers.
E-mail instructions for either would be appreciated but probably not
forthcoming.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] capcha and firefox and internet explorer

Greetings:I'm aware internet explorer does not have a capcha service, solona
was the most recent but I'm just curious to know, is it possible when
encountering a webpage that has a capcha if using IE to switch over to
firefox to solve it?

I spent an hour, filling out this application online today for a government
agency and after 11 pages, right when I needed to sign, there was a capcha!
There was the audio capcha; however, when doing all the different keystrokes
to launch it, it would not play.

I wish they had a be where of capcha sign like a be where of dog sign.
