Chrome is great when you get used to it. I have a tutorial I did on Chrome
if you want it. To set chrome to open on a certain home page, press alt and
the Google menu will come up. Now, up arrow to settings and press enter. A
web page will open up with many settings you can adjust. Arrow down to start
up and make sure that the third radio button is checked to open with a
certain page. Now, there will be an edit field right below that to enter the
address you would like to have opened every time. I have Google in there,
but you can put any URL. Have a great one and let me know if you would like
the tutorial.

I just received no less than 48 emails of members bouncing. In my experience
such a large number is because of ISPs are blocking out this domain. Com cast,
outlook and others are the current offenders. If this keeps up we might just
shutdown the list as the battle is becoming far too up hill to stay ahead of
it.

Like I said in the past, "you don't have to be crazy to run a list like this
but it does help."

[JAWS-Users] place markers in word 2013

2016-01-31 Thread Kimsan
I know how to create and delete book marks; however, in word isn't there a
way to mark your territory to come back to it later while reading the rest
of the material? I think it had the letter m, in it.

Thanks.

Hi Kimsan,

Check out this thread I've saved & see if it helps:
From: Donnie Parrett
I am reading a book that is in Word document format. I am needing to know
how to set a place marker where I stop reading so I can find that place when
I start again. Also, do I need to delete that marker when I start the next
time so I can set another one when I am ready to stop again? Please give
step by step instructions on how to do this. Again, I am using JAWS 14 and
Windows 7.
Thanks,
Donnie

Hi Donnie.
Ok, let me start by the end. Yes, you can get only one place mark on a
word document, this feature works like a bookmark. To create a placemarker
do this.
Find where you want the placemarker.
Been there, press control windows key and K. It will place the marker there.
when you want to come back where you left the placemarker, just press
windows key, alt and k.
Pablo

From: Donnie Parrett
When you come back to the place marker, does that automatically delete it so
you can place another one later? Or, is there a key stroke for deleting
place markers?
Donnie

From: Pablo Morales
Oh, I forgot write about it.
If you create a place marker, you can close the document, turn off your
computer, and the place marker will be where you left it. If do you need
another placemarker, you just need to create it on another part of your
document, jaws will move the bookmark to the new place, you don't need to
delete it, just move it. Jaws just allows one placemarker on word documents.
Pablo

Take care.

At the risk of sounding argumentative so after reading the below, what's the
difference between setting a place marker and a book mark?
Great info, I'll use this right now for my chapter I'm reding for school.
Back to homework!
Thanks bro.

2016-01-31 Thread Kimsan
Ok, I actually paid attention to the thread you forwarded so bookmarks must
be the way to go as you can create multiple ones where as place markers, you
can only do one, but good info nonetheless, lol.

Thanks again.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Problem in duxbury braille translator

2016-01-31 Thread inamuddin
Dear respected Steave, the matter of fact is that I'm from Pakistan trying
to provide braille books to those visually challenged people who cannot
afford them.
A friend of mine has donated me a machine called index braille box V4 with
that machine software's DBT 11.2 came free of cost.

When I updated it with 11.3, I have begun to face issues.
In our school days, we've learnt dots 2 3 5 in the beginning as "to" in the
middle "ff" & in the end "exclemation mark.
Dots 3 6 for letter sign COM in the beginning & in the middle whereas in the
end it is hyphen.
Now this software's is not translating as I have learnt braille code in our
school days.

I therefore would like to request you to please help me in this regard.
In this country braille books are generally not available to visually
challenged kids.
I want to help them providing braille books please help me to overcome
software's issues.

I hope that my request will be dealt with sympathetic consideration.
Thanking in anticipations
Your faithful
Inamuddin with the Skype ID:

I hope I don't get slammed for this being off-topic. Inamuddin, you need to
check your translation choice. What you are encountering is the newer
United

English Braille translation. You probably want English American pre-Ueb or
equivalent.

Dear Jaws users,

I'd like to let you know that whenever I try to translate a text file into
Duxbury braille translator,

I'm experiencing some issues.

If I write in a text file "He went to the zoo."

According to braille it must translate as "He went dots 235 for to without
space of the as dots 2346" but it is translating as "He went to with space
dots 2346 for the letter sign the"

Please help me in this regard how can I fix it!
