Re: [JAWS-Users] Vipre 2016 & JAWS

2016-04-10 Thread Mike B
Hi Merv,

I would appreciate it, as well as many others, if you could throw my 2
questions at them. I can tab, arrow & whatever else in the setting a
schedule option, but I can't seem to get any other option checked besides
the, Quick scan. I'm totally blind so, I can only go by what Jaws is
reporting as checked, but in all actuality, Full or Custom, could be
checked. I haven't tried using the touch cursor keystrokes as of yet, but
I'll have to give them a try. I know it's been said that touch cursor
keystrokes are normal Jaws navigation keystrokes, but, the touch cursor
keystrokes report differently as touch cursor keystrokes, than they do in
normal Jaws mode, well at least in my brief experimentation with them.

As far as the quarantine issue, that needs a lot of help, compared to Vipre
2014, ah hell, so does the scheduling option!. I'm real close to going back
to Vipre 2014!
Take care.

I need to call them yet again tomorrow. I have a case open with them via
phone and also via email. They recently updated their support page along
with their viper 2016 application. Unfortunately the written instruction are
not exactly screen reader friendly. I had already planned to call them
tomorrow about another issue. I will ask them about this one if I can. If
you look at the support instructions you will see that it advises you to
look for a pencil and click on it to schedule a scan. I really like viper
2016 Internet Security and I am concerned that it has been losing
accessibility with Jaws and other screen readers. I would hate to see it go
the same way as applications such as bit defender. When I had sight I loved
that program. However, it moved to the cloud right about the time my vision
dropped below the point where I could use programs that were largely cloud
dependent such as Adobe and Bit Defender. I still miss Audition. If we can
keep viper accessible I'm willing to go the extra mile to help make that
possible.

Hi Kevin,

If you're hearing that Vipre has just started a scan, that is because you
installed it & forgot about it! Well, I like to have a little more
knowledge & control about what Vipre might find as Malware or whatever else,
& I don't want little programs quarantined / removed that I use on a regular
basis being quarantined / removed without me knowing about it. &, if they
are quarantined, I would like to know how to tell Vipre to allow them. I
can navigate Vipre 2016, okay, but I just can't quite wrap my head around
setting up a scheduled scan , or getting quarantined items out of
quarantine. I know we all have different ways of operating our own
computers, but please don't tell me I should just use the default settings
because you are doing that.
Take care.

Hi Jaws Users group.
I have just figured out how to get Jaws 17.0.1806, to read the status of our
w-10 updates.
Just do the following:
1. Press Windows key+I, for the settings area of w-10.
2. Press the Right arrow key or press the End key to, Update and security,
press enter.
Now the sub category, windows update is already selected for you.
3. Tab one time to, Check for updates, don’t do anything.
4. Press Shift+PC cursor, to activate the Touch cursor in Jaws.
5. Press the left arrow key one time, Jaws 17 should say, your computer is up
to date, last checked, bla bla bla.
6. Press the PC cursor twice, that is Num-pad plus twice, to go back to the
regular PC cursor for Jaws 17.
7. Press ALT+f4 to close the settings area in w-10.
I hope this explains checking the status of your w-10 updates using Jaws
17.0.1806, clearly enough for you.
Eric, from Freedom Scientific, has already said that they will fix this small
issue in an upcoming future update to Jaws 17.
So, thanks Eric.
In the mean time you can use the above steps to check the status of your
w-10 Windows updates.
Thanks and I hope everyone has a nice weekend...

The touch cursor is how I have been doing it for months. I also use the
touch cursor with several other applications when the PC cursor does not
give me sufficient feedback. Since I have been teaching this method for
months I will go ahead and answer the question someone will ask eventually.
No you do not need a touch screen to use the touch cursor. Laughs!

5. Press the left arrow key one time, Jaws 17 should say, your computer is
up to date, last checked, bla bla bla.
Eric, from Freedom Scientific, has already said that they will fix this
small issue in an upcoming future update to Jaws 17.
So, thanks Eric.
In the mean time you can use the above steps to check the status of your
w-10 Windows updates.
Thanks and I hope everyone has a nice weekend...

Love God! with your heart, mind, and soul, that you might be blessed
reaching His goal.
Love your Neighbor as you would yourself, God will truly reward you with
good health.
Love God, your neighbor, as you love yourself, you will then be spiritually
balanced with wealth.
Love His Word that proceeds from His lips, then reflect on the heavens where
God sits.

[JAWS-Users] Itunes issue.

2016-04-10 Thread Justin McDevitt
`~~

Hello listmembers,

Earlier today, I created a Playlist within Itunes of specific songs within
my overall music file directory.

After completing the Playlist and selecting the Songs option, the song list
was presented in alphabetical order based on the title of each track.

To re-order the list, I pressed Control X and then Control-V to place the
track at a specific point within the Playlist. However, unlike the many
other times in which I have utilized this command, the titles were not
re-ordered per my objective. As an Itunes user for the past 5-6 years, what
step am I issing here?

Best, Justin

Hi all,
Have changed the subject from prior thread.

Ran the repair which was successful.
Jaws still doesn't start at startup.
Have checked the settings, start for this user is always, Jaws speaks at
the login screen as it signs in.
(I don't have a password for my local account).
Have tried comvinations of checking and unchecking the boxes re startup
with the same result.

The shortcut on the desktop is set to run as admin.
What I find strange but maybe normal is if I go to properties to make
the shortcut key it says I need admin permission and by pressing enter
grants it.

Any other ideas on what I can do to get jaws starting at startup?

Kimmer,

See if you can download "Hot Key Detective" and install. If so, it will tell
you where all your hotkey assignments are, and connected to which files.
That might help.
