[JAWS-Users] how to stop drop box

2016-05-13 Thread Lenny McHugh
Some time back I installed drop box. I am trying to get it to automatically
starting. I used msconfig and removed it from the start up tab. A few days
later it is back. I have done this several times and do not see anywhere
that reinstalls it. I did not want to totally remove it in case there is a
time when I may want to use it.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Office 365 subscription with Jaws 17

2016-05-13 Thread Tom Behler
Jim:

For a number of reasons which I won't bother you with here, I too am about
to take the plunge into Office 365.

My University has used it for the past year or so, and I've very
successfully used Outlook e-mail as well, so I'm going to download and
install it onto my personal computer.

Your experience thus far is encouraging, since it seems that you are having
no major accessibility issues.

If there is something I should be aware of when getting things installed and
set up, please let me know. I'm not the most computer savy person in the
world, so please try to keep it simple. (smile)

I'm using Windows 7 with Jaws 16 here.

Hello Jaws Users group.

I took the full plunge! I purchased the full Office 365 monthly subscription
for the $9.99 per month. I wanted to let all you know that the Microsoft
store is totally accessible with Jaws 17. Very easy to use. After buying the
subscription, I went to Office.com, which is also totally accessible, and
downloaded the full Office 365 suit. I went to a page on the same sight
under my account, I added a second computer, and sent an invite to my laptop
computer. I then opened that email on the laptop, followed the invitation
link to download Office 365 to the laptop, then I installed it on the
laptop.

All went very smoothly with Jaws 17. What all do you get with Office 365?

Word, Excel, Outlook, power point, and so on for all the 2016 versions of
these programs. You also get 1 TB of OneDrive storage. You get 60 free
minutes of skype per month to call land lines. You get full technical
support 24/7. You get 5 licenses for computers, other licenses for iPhones,
iPads, and also for android devices.

All for either $9.99 per month, or $99.99 per year.

I have spent most of today setting up the laptop and setting up email
accounts in outlook 2016.

All is working great. See you can teach an old dog like me new tricks! Or in
this case, new programs.

God bless.

Re: [JAWS-Users] error message after logging in windows 10

2016-05-13 Thread David Moore

Hi,
I get that message a lot, and I just press the okay button and everything
has always been fine. I notice that I don't get that message near as much on
the latest up date of JAWS 17. Don't worry about it, after I press okay, I
have never had any trouble. It might be interesting to give FS a Tweet,
because they tweet you right back. Take care.

[JAWS-Users] Reading PDF in inaccessible Fox It reader on a PC with JAWS

2016-05-13 Thread Dujari, Prateek
Hello gang.
Fox It reader seems to be completely inaccessible to JAWS for reading PDF
documents. My company forces us to open certain internal PDF's in Fox IT
reader. JAWS does not even access the menu much less read and navigate anything
in the PDF. Has anyone using JAWS hooked a Braille display to the computer and
been able to navigate and read the PDF in Fox IT with JAWS running on the PC?

Re: [JAWS-Users] problem with PDF document

2016-05-13 Thread Mario
Vicki, for some weird, strange reason, sometimes pressing the
applications key or shift+f10 gives you choices that the right click
doesn't offer. try pressing these keys to see what happens.

also, what browser are you using? Firefox can automatically save the pdf
instead of opening it online. but if you want to save the pdf after
reviewing it online, there should be a save or save as option in the
file menu of reader dc.

Vicki, when you land on the link to open the pdf, if you right click, do
you have an option to save the link as... and enter on the name of the
file?

I may be way behind on any of your emails so pardon me if this was
already mentioned or tried. With JAWS 17 have you tried the OCR which
should pull the text to a virtual screen. Then copy and paste?

When opening up document and you get document empty try:
Only JAWS version 16 and up
Insert + spacebar
Then tap O for OCR
Then tap D for document

Is there a setting that will allow the menus or tools to show up with
JAWS 14 or 17 so that a document can be saved?

I can no longer download my bank statements, but I can get them to
appear on the screen with tools which include an option to save the
document. Neither JAWS version is seeing the tools.

There are no menus and the JAWS curser is not showing any options
either.

The context menu appears blank.

Thanks.

For convenient OCR you press jawsKey + spacebar followed W for window.
