Hi.

I didn't intend to have you using the tree view to browse, what happens
to me is I get thrown into some no man's land and shift+tab twice places
me back in the folder view thing. I'm not sure what to suggest as an
attempt to fix your issue. Is this something that has like 3 or 4 items
in it, and they're in a horrizontal layout aka icon view? In that case,
right and left arrow would go to those. You can tab once or twice from
the folder view to a header thing and use left arrow on where it might
say icon view and it'll say detail, which will allow up and down arrowing.

Hi listers,
Has anyone had this issue, or knows how to fix it.
My issue is this, I'm using windows 10 and latest jaws 17.
I updated jaws a few days ago and today I sat down to sort some music on

my

laptop.
I opened file explorer through a shortcut I have on my desktop which is my
music folder. I hear jaws say music multiview list box not selected

Michael

Jackson 1 of 4.
I arrow up and down through the folder and jaws announces the different
files.
I hear the file I want for example Michael Jackson and I hit enter on my
keyboard, and jaws opens it.
And then I hear jaws say Michael Jackson multi view list box track 1 not
selected, and then here's the problem.
I can't up and down through the files with the arrow keys jaws announces
absalutley nothing.
No matter what I do with the arrow keys no response, I alt tab back into

the

window but nothing.
My laptop is a touch screen, so if I put my finger on the screen and move

it

around jaws announces the file names for example track 1 or track 2, and

if

I double tap with my finger on the screen it opens the file as expected.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Could one of my jaws settings have

gotten

screwed up with the update? Or maybe windows update screwed up something
with jaws? Any ideas on how to fix this?i want to be able to use my
keyboard to go through my files and open them like before, I don't want to
use the touch screen. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Zoe

It will say add configuration file. The name
should say Ccleaner64 press enter
Then it will say edit button.
Tab once arrow down to check box.
Tab to add class button press space bar. Then to ok.
NOTE THIS HAS ONLY BEEN TESTED WITH CCleaner!

exactly what you are doing. That is, use Office 365 for e-mail, and just
keep the rest of the Office 2010 suite in tact for other things.

However, my University does not allow emeriti faculty to keep
university-licensed software like Office 2010 on their computers, so I was
faced with a choice.

I decided to upgrade to Office 365 and endure the learning curve while I

I do have an old Windows 7 PC here with a personal copy of Office 2010 to

So, hopefully, I'll be reasonably well covered for any eventuality.

Will see, I guess.

Hi Tom,

I do not know if you can make Office2016 look like Office 2010, but here is
some food for thought. If it is possible to make this change, it will make
it easier for you now. However, if you do collaborative work with
co-workers at your computer, or if someone is helping you, they will not be
able to successfully work with you as they will have made the transition to
2016 and you will have not. Of course if you do not find yourself in either
of these situations, then finding a way to make 2016 feel like 2010 might be
the best option for you.

Hi Tom,
You know outlook already so I don't think you will have any trouble using
it.
Now word 2016 has a new interface when you open it. There is a grid of form
layouts, you can choose from. While in this start page, you can press ALT+F,
to get a list of documents on your computer. At the bottom of this list, is
a see more document link. Pressing enter on any of your documents opens them
in word 2016. If you don't wish to use this start page, you can turn it off
under the word settings.
I am personally having no issues right now. Using Jaws 17 on two W-10

Hi Leonard,

Try 1 of the following:

http://www.gwmicro.com/Support/Knowledge_Base/?kbnumber=GWKB2049

GWKB2049 : Exit Protected View In Microsoft Office
Author: Jeremy Curry

When a document is in Protected View, you will not be able to read or edit
the document. When this happens, you will hear "Protected View" announced
after
the file name. Documents will open in Protected View if Office 2010 or 2013
determine that the file originated from the internet or a potentially unsafe
location (such as a shared folder on your local network or an email
attachment). To exit Protected View, perform the following steps:

1.Press F6
2.Tab to the Enable Editing button
3.Press Enter

If you find that the above steps are not working for you, there is an
alternate way to exit Protected View. To use this method, perform the
following
steps:

1.Press Alt
2.Press F to open the File button
3.Press I to focus the Info tab
4.Press E to activate the Enable Editing button

You will then exit Protected View and you can begin working with the
document. For a video tutorial on how to turn off Protected View, please
visit http://www.gwmicro.com/Training/Tutorials/.

Permanently Disable Protected View

It is possible to completely turn off Protected View, so that you do not
need to turn it off on a per document basis. To permanently disable
Protected
View, perform the following steps:

1.Press Alt-F to open the File button
2.Press T to open Options
3.Down Arrow to Trust Center
4.Press Alt-T to activate the Trust Center Settings button
5.Down Arrow to Protected View
6.Tab to the Enable Protected View for files originating from the
Internet check box
7.Press Space to uncheck the box
8.Tab to the Enable Protected View for files located in potentially
unsafe locations check box
9.Press Space to uncheck the box
10.Tab to the Enable Protected View for Outlook attachments check box
11.Press Space to uncheck the box
12.Tab to the OK button
13.Press Enter and the Trust Center dialog will close
14.Tab to the OK button
15.Press Enter and the Word Options dialog will close

Take care.

Hi listers,
Has anyone had this issue, or knows how to fix it.
My issue is this, I'm using windows 10 and latest jaws 17.
I updated jaws a few days ago and today I sat down to sort some music on my
laptop.
I opened file explorer through a shortcut I have on my desktop which is my
music folder. I hear jaws say music multiview list box not selected Michael
No matter what I do with the arrow keys no response, I alt tab back into the
window but nothing.
My laptop is a touch screen, so if I put my finger on the screen and move it
around jaws announces the file names for example track 1 or track 2, and if
I double tap with my finger on the screen it opens the file as expected.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Could one of my jaws settings have gotten
screwed up with the update? Or maybe windows update screwed up something
with jaws? Any ideas on how to fix this?i want to be able to use my
keyboard to go through my files and open them like before, I don't want to
use the touch screen. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Regards
Zoe

365 look and act like Microsoft Word 2010?

I've gotten used to that layout over the last few years, and would like to
continue it if possible.

Thank you!

Hi Tom,
You know outlook already so I don't think you will have any trouble using
Using Jaws 17 on two W-10
computers with Office 365.

For a number of reasons which I won't bother you with here, I too am about
to take the plunge into Office 365.

My University has used it for the past year or so, and I've very
successfully used Outlook e-mail as well, so I'm going to download and
install it onto my personal computer.

Your experience thus far is encouraging, since it seems that you are having
no major accessibility issues.

If there is something I should be aware of when getting things installed and
set up, please let me know. I'm not the most computer savy person in the
world, so please try to keep it simple. (smile)

I'm using Windows 7 with Jaws 16 here.

Hello Jaws Users group.

I took the full plunge! I purchased the full Office 365 monthly subscription
for the $9.99 per month. I wanted to let all you know that the Microsoft
store is totally accessible with Jaws 17. Very easy to use. After buying the
subscription, I went to Office.com, which is also totally accessible, and
downloaded the full Office 365 suit. I went to a page on the same sight
under my account, I added a second computer, and sent an invite to my laptop
computer. I then opened that email on the laptop, followed the invitation
link to download Office 365 to the laptop, then I installed it on the
laptop.

All went very smoothly with Jaws 17. What all do you get with Office 365?

Word, Excel, Outlook, power point, and so on for all the 2016 versions of
these programs. You also get 1 TB of OneDrive storage. You get 60 free
minutes of skype per month to call land lines. You get full technical
support 24/7. You get 5 licenses for computers, other licenses for iPhones,
iPads, and also for android devi

2016-05-16 Thread Annette Carr

HTH,
Annette

Hi,

Do you know which model keyboard it is?
I Think that you are talking about the righthand Windows key for the context
menus?
If so, I have the same keyboard and find this really annoying!
I Have never taken the time to try to do anything aobut about it to be honest.

Hi Everyone,

I have a person that uses Jaws and she just purchased a new wireless Logitech
keyboard. I also purchase one and it has a function key where the application
key is located. When you press that key it does not bring up the application
menu. Does anyone know how a person would change something on the Logitech
keyboard to make the function key work like the application key when press?
