Tom, I don't know of a JAWS keystroke, but to Center Text Vertically
Using Word 2010 (I would imagine it would be similar in 2007):

1. Select the text you would like to have vertically centered.
2. Press Alt+P, followed by S, followed by P.
3. The Page Setup dialog will appear, you will be placed on the Margins
page.
4. Control+Tab twice or until you land on the Layout Tab.
5. Tab about 5 or 6 times until you get to the Vertical Alignment combo box.
6. Down arrow to Center, or you can press the letter C when arriving at
this combo box.
7. Tab once to the Apply To combo box.
8. Down arrow to center selection.
9. Press Enter twice, the first Enter will close the combo box and the
second Enter will activate the OK button.

I'm using Word 2010 and Jaws 17. Here is how I do it.
1. Place your PC cursor on the first line at the beginning.
2. Hold down the shift key and press the Page Down button.
3. Remember. Pages in Word are usually divided into two sections. For a
two page copy, you'll need to press Page down three times.
4. You have now highlighted the text. Press CONTROL+C to copy it to your
clipboard.
5. Open a new Word document by pressing CONTROL+N.
6. Press CONTROL+V to paste the copied text into the new document.
7. Once this is done, I always check the work to make sure that I have
copied all of the information I need. You might need to add or trim
something at the top or bottom of the document.

That's it, Tom. There are probably other ways to do this but I have found
this method to be the most reliable.

As rick would say, "HTH".

When I use web based applications, like Google Drive and Google Docs, it is
much better to turn off the virtual cursor with insert+Z and then tab around
or use key commands that are built into the web based application.

Moving to items on web based applications quickly depends only on how the
said items have been created.
There are so many possibilities on how a set of tabs can be created that its
difficult to guess.

If you can navigate to the tabs with the arrow keys then listen to how they
are described. If they are links then use the links list, if list items use
L or I to jump between them.
If you are looking for a control + tab type keystroke then this is unlikely
to work as it would clash with the IE use of the same keystroke.

You may benefit from some custom scripts for the app if there are specific
features you would like adding.

Hi friends,

I Have a web based application which is called Service anywhere and is
written by HPE.
I Would like to use this with JAWS, it seems to read o.k. but JAWS seems to
re-form the screen content and it will be a task of getting training and
used to the screen layout I think.
Does anyone have any tips on how to make web based applications more useable
please?
Is there a way to jump around tabs on the screen for example?
The programme sems to display information on the screen with tabs at the top
of the screen but JAWS is reformatting this in to what appears to be one big
long list, can I jump to the different tabs easily with JAWS?

Many thanks in anticipation,

Re: [JAWS-Users] Epsem Scanner Driver

2016-08-18 Thread Roger Crome

Just a suggestion that I am not sure will work, but it may be worth a try.
With Windows 7 64 bit, there is a built in generic driver for printers that do
not have a 64 bit driver produced. So, you may want to connect the printer and
choose the generic printer driver

[JAWS-Users] Drop Box Question-Sharing a Folder?

2016-08-18 Thread Pauline Dalton

Hello All,

I have created a folder in Drop Box which I would like to share.
In the past, I was able to follow the prompts to accomplish the task, and the
folder would appear in the drop box of the people with whom I wanted to share.

For some reason, the only thing I can find is a link which allows access to the
shared folder.
No folder appears in the Drop Box of the individual I wish to share with.

What am I doing wrong?
How should I proceed to accomplish my task?

All help is appreciated.

I am using JAWS17, Windows 8.1.

Thank you.

Pauline

Hi, thank you very much for taking the time for doing a search.
I think it's something to do with the 64 bits system and the drivers.
I had it working fine on a win7 32 system Del laptop, but the computer
refuse to boot a few weeks ago, so I was trying to create a temp system to
scan my mails etc.

Thanks for trying, really appreciate it.

Hi,

Upon doing a further Google search for the "code 28" error, It's yielded two
possible results that may help you.

I'm not saying it will, but it would seem that this is not an isolated
incident. I am sorry, as I also used the Epson Perfection 1660, but since
getting a new printer/fax machine/all-in-one, I've never looked back, and
haven't used it since. I only had the drivers because I'm a hoarder when it
comes to software and the like, and I figured that if I ever sold the
scanner, they might have trouble looking for the drivers. LOL.

Looks like I was not wrong, though the conditions are a bit different.

Here are the links I found, and at the bottom, I've pasted the link to the
actual Google search in case you want to look for a better result.
