Subject: [JAWS-Users] JAWS Accessibility with Quicken

Hi All,

Is there a version of Quicken (Quicken 17, Quicken 16, or Quicken 15) that
is fully accessible with JAWS? I currently use Excel as a check registry of
sorts but one cannot sync Excel to the banking website, and I understand
that Quicken has many features that are quite useful, especially for tax
preparation purposes. If Quicken is not accessible, can anyone recommend a
comparable alternative?

Thanks in advance,

Mauricio

Re: [JAWS-Users] How To Stop Auto-numbering In Outlook 2016

2016-10-22 Thread Annette Carr
Hi Tom,

I do not know how to do this in 2016, but in 2010 Alt, H, U opens the
bullets submenu and you would use your arrow keys to get to "None". I
cannot remember the command for getting to the Numbers submenu, but in 2010
it is the item to the right of Bullets on the ribbon. Maybe someone can
come up with the short cut. For some reason the short cut keys that are
being announced when I check out my ribbon are not making sense.

Another idea is to see if your applications key brings up a context menu
that offers a choice for turning off the numbering.

HTH,
Annette

I used to be able to stop this feature in Outlook 2010 by simply hitting

[JAWS-Users] jaws and rsgames

Hello,

I read a post where someone had the same issue I am having, but there was
never a solution posted. The original post was October 28, 2014 so I hope
someone can help me now.

I upgraded to jaws 17 and now I have a sappy voice for rsgames. I can't seem
to get them to a single voice, like previously when i was using jaws15.

I have also unloaded rsgames and reloaded it, to no avail.

I am wondering if anyone here has seen this and has a solution

It would be greatly appreciated

Thank you for your time

Re: [JAWS-Users] Problem attempting to create a Portable copy of Image for Windows

2016-10-22 Thread David Ferrin
I normally pop a copy of the portable image for windows on the hard drive
for example on a data partition and search for it in windows explorer.

If it comes up in demo mode that means that INI file is not coded as read
only. Simply place your name and the license code in the proper fields BTW
clipboard is available in the virtual environment so don't worry about that
fact at all. Then proceed as normal creating your image or restoring it
whatever you are about at that point.

I hope this is clear enough, if not again let me know.

I do love restoring images from an external drive or data partition without
sited help for several reasons. Once you catch on you will enjoy that level
of freedom as well.

can't find the folder to run IFW. I had to copy that folder to a 2nd flash

Dave, the original question is slightly different from the way it was first
interpreted, and Mike got it right the second time. It isn't how to stop the
arrow keys being verbalized, but how to stop JAWS from giving certain kinds
of informational messages, such as how to handle particular controls. That's
in the "tutor" message options under Basics I the JAWS menus. I'm glad he
figured it out because I was about to post that the way to do this is by
switching from beginner to intermediate verbosity. Amazing how complicated
all this is when you think about it.

Nope. Go to Setting Center and then locate the "Manage Key Labels" page.

Re: [JAWS-Users] How do I stop jaws from saying arrow keys

2016-10-22 Thread Adrian Spratt
Dave, the original question is slightly different from the way it was first
interpreted, and Mike got it right the second time. It isn't how to stop the
arrow keys being verbalized, but how to stop JAWS from giving certain kinds of
informational messages, such as how to handle particular controls. That's in
the "tutor" message options under Basics I the JAWS menus. I'm glad he figured
it out because I was about to post that the way to do this is by switching from
beginner to intermediate verbosity. Amazing how complicated all this is when
you think about it.

Nope. Go to Setting Center and then locate the "Manage Key Labels" page.
Mute the keys you don't want to hear.

Hi Lev,

This is something you might have to use the default dictionary manager for.
Take care.

Re: [JAWS-Users] ANTI VIRUS PROGRAM WITH JAWS?

2016-10-22 Thread dlhardy52
I am running windows 7.

I actually downloaded the free trial of Vipre per recommendation of other
lister. Was easy to work in the menus with jaws. We'll see!

Thanks to all.

Blessings,
Donna

Re: [JAWS-Users] How do I stop jaws from saying errow keys

2016-10-22 Thread Mike B.
Hi Again Lev,

I think I found the setting to stop Jaws from saying, use arrow keys. Open
your Jaws context menu / Options / Basics. When you open, Basics, you'll be
in a list of 3 radio buttons:
Tutor Messages:
1. Turn off Menu and Control Help.
2. Announce Menu and Control Help.
3. Announce Custom Messages Only

Arrow / select # 3, tab to Okay & press enter. See if this helps.
Take care.
