[JAWS-Users] Latest Jaws 18 and problems with edit fields

2016-12-20 Thread Cristóbal
Hello list,

Anyone else having issues with edit fields and the latest JFW 18 update?

On my Windows 7 laptop, I’m noticing when I enter an edit field (forms mode
is set to manual) and try to review typed out or pasted text, Jaws only says
document. If I try to tab or shift tab, nothing changes either.

I first took note of this when trying to log into my banking website and
wasn’t getting the proper feedback for the user name/password fields and at
first thought it just one of those random issues, but I’m coming across it
more and more on other sites including Amazon for example. Again, it doesn’t
seem to matter if I type or paste text. Jaws just says document.

I’ll have to pay more attention, but I’m fairly certain that I’ve dealt
with this issue on my Windows 10 tower as well.

Thanks,

Logitech keyboards work perfectly well with Windows.

I think, but can't confirm, that they work perfectly well on all platforms,
but Windows especially.

What from my message caused you to infer that Logitech devices don't work
well with Windows?

Not upset or anything, I'm genuinely confused.

Hi Janine,

There should be some software called, "Set Point" software that will allow
you to configure this sort of thing.

I am currently using the K800, and the set point software is accessible, and
I can configure the keyboard to do just that.

Look for it on the Logitech website using the model number of your keyboard.

HI

Are any of you using the Logitech K760 keyboard with windows 10 and Jaws? By
default it seems to be set in enhanced mode for the F1 through to F12 keys.
To work in standard mode I have to press and hold down the fn key while
pressing F1 through to F12 to get Jaws to recognise. Is there a way to get
the keys to work in standard mode?

There is a new model, K480 which claims to work with windows. Looking at the
manual I am thinking that it too may not be possible?

Can anyone recommend a Bluetooth keyboard that you have successfully used
with Jaws, without having to hold down the FN key to make the function keys
work?

Kind Regards Janine Smith

I am using 2 Logitech wireless keyboards, one With Win7 and one on Win 10
both with Jaws 18. No problems. I will have someone look at the model
numbers and get back to you. Had a balky Ctrl key on one but a couple of
shots with a dry silicone aerosol cured that. Tom

Hi Jim,

I've used the registry cleaner for a long time without any problems. Just
using the default settings should be sufficient. You can always go into the

very smooth in W-10. It responds very quickly while using Jaws 18.

For some reason windows movie maker no works on my win 7 machine. When you
try to add a file it goes away.
I talked to microsoft support for over an hour and he thought that he found
a work around. That is by selecting the file and then navigating to the burn
process. Although it does burn a dvdit is not in the movie format.
I did a search and found dvd flick it is not jaws friendly. I really do not
want to purchase any software. I made one dvd last May using movie maker and
now just to need to make 3 dvds of my magic show. Is there any freeware jaws

Re: [JAWS-Users] Malware Bytes 3.0 & Jaws

2016-12-20 Thread Mike B.
Hi Gerald,

Well, I'm happy with MWB 2.2, & I'm more curious about 3.0 than anything
else. They're doing a lot of talking about how this new version is the next
greatest thing, but it seems like everytime a latest / greatest anything
comes out the accessibility sucks! Also, I'm hearing that this latest
version really slows down a computer, but on the other hand I don't feel
like being a guinea pig. LOL
Take care.

I'm still using MB 1.75 myself, which continues to work well. But Mike,
since you are one of the most knowledgeable and helpful members of this
list, why don't you try MB 3.0 yourself and report your experience for the
benefit of the rest of us?

Howdy All,

Has anyone tried the new Malware Bytes 3.0 with Jaws yet? Just wondering if
MWB will be accessible, or if they're going backwards with screenreader
accessibility again. You can read about & download it here:

Although I have not sent the changes up to the server as of yet I will
explain what I have done.

Since you posted the direct download link for C cleaner I simply hard coded
it in to the index of the programs page. Note: the default file naming
convention for web pages is index.html. This is just a little behind the
seens information for your benefit.

So the link to download the program unless the company makes any changes on
their end is permanent so to speak.

I'll upload the change just after I send out this message, so you should
notice it by 8:00 Eastern time.

Re: [JAWS-Users] Cleaner Direct Download Link

2016-12-20 Thread Jim
Hi Mike, thanks for the link. I have not used c cleaner for a while. But I
had no issues downloading, installing and running it on my W-10 computer. I
do not use the c cleaner registry cleaner, I believe it removes too much
stuff, but I do use the other tools. I am just curious, what are some of
your opinions about using the c cleaner, registry cleaner? C cleaner works
very smooth in W-10. It responds very quickly while using Jaws 18.

[JAWS-Users] Logitech Bluetooth keyboard

2016-12-20 Thread Janine Smith
