Re: [JAWS-Users] how do you find specific text in outlook
Hi, Ted. Welcome to JAWS! To search within an open message, add the JAWS key to control-f. this three-key combination comes in useful in many common applications even when control-f also works. To search through the messages in a folder, place focus at one of the folder's messages and press shift-control-f. this is a Microsoft command. An alternative is to press control-e, another MS command. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Ted Larson Sent: Tuesday, August 08, 2017 3:18 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] how do you find specific textin outlook Dear List: I just migrated from window-eyes to jaws. Yep. VFO ran a repair for me too yesterday using the method Adrian listed. Happy camper. VFO seems to know about this because when I called, they had me follow the procedure I'll detail below, and it worked. I don't know why it is different, but somehow it is. So, here goes. First, make sure you have the .exe file on your system for the JAWS build you're running. You can download it from the FS/VFO website. Unlike before, it doesn't seem to matter where you keep it on your system. Close all running apps. Highlight the JAWS .exe file. Press shift-F10. Arrow up to "Copy as path." Press enter. Open the run dialog with Windows key-r. Press control-v, then spacebar, then / (the forward slash key), then the word "type", spacebar, and then the word "repair." Let me try that command line a different way. After pressing control-v followed by the spacebar, continue with /type repair Then press enter. The process went more smoothly than any JAWS repair I can remember, and it went all the way to the end. I hope this is useful. Adrian Take care. Mike. Go Dodgers! Sent from my iBarstool. Re: [JAWS-Users] Inquiry
I think the best way to answer your query is to explain how the JAWS menu is laid out. But don't begin by pressing alt after you've pressed JAWS key+j. so: JAWS key+j opens the JAWS menu Right away, JAWS verbalizes "Options submenu." You can use your up and down arrow keys for other choices or press enter to open the options submenu. If you open the options submenu, you'll find other choices that you can locate by pressing the up and down arrow keys. For example, there's so-called "Basics" and two "voice" dialogs. Press enter on the one you want and proceed through the dialog by tabbing. If, instead of pressing enter on "options" you arrow up, you'll notice such choices as "About," "Help," "Utilities," and so on. Most of these choices are submenus. You press enter to locate the choices within the submenu. To my mind, a shortcoming in the JAWS menu is that once you click on something and then escape out of it, you simultaneously escape out of the JAWS menu system. If you're exploring the menu, it means being bounced out of it and pressing JAWS key+j several times. But the effort is worth it. I hope this is clear. -Original Message- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of jyandt.mar...@comcast.net Sent: Tuesday, August 08, 2017 10:19 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Inquiry Adrian: Thanks to you and all of the others who have put their expertise out there for me. Re: [JAWS-Users] I need a direct download link for jaws scripts for skype 7.30. I can't figure out where to get it.
Also, it seems like my skype worked for my meet up. I'm not sure whether my skypes are loaded of not, but maybe everything is good. I'd still like to have them though. This skype was on a pc before this one and it was working on that one, so I assume I'm good. But, if anyone can find them, please send them over.
