Re: [JAWS-Users] Learning MS ribbons - virtual or not ......
Well, yes, and I'm not fighting or even being snappy. I know there are a lot of messages and ... tha'ts part of the problem. I see this kind of thing on message boards all the time, too, where people try to start new threads to discuss something that's already being discussed (on the first page even) because they don't read the stuff that's already there. Anyway, hopefully we are all done with this now for the rest of the year. However, I hate hearing the space, and I turn off echo because it does not keep up with my typing speed but I'd never tell any of you to work the same way I work. Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws and Outlook: Jaws doesn't say unread
Hi Morne, The problem, as you were told, is that the Outlook reading pane which displays the message at the side of the message list is turned on by default. You can change the option Tom said, or more convenient in my opinion, turn off the reading pane completely. This seems me more convenient because the navigation becomes faster when Outlook stop processing each e-mail in which you navigate to in the background. To disable the reading pane go to the View tab and, in the Layout group, press SPACEBAR in the Reading Pane option. In the drop-down menu which is opened, choose Off. I can't tell you the exact access keys for quickly accessing this item because thei're different in English compared to Spanish Outlook which I use, but the Helpful Hints section on the JAWS help topic for Outlook these keys are indicated, despite that I'm sure of the names I mentioned if you want to run through the ribbon. Hope it helps! 2017-08-24 14:08 GMT-03:00 Morne van der Merwe : > Hello listers, > > > > Latest version of jfw and Outlook 2013. > > > > I'm not sure if this is a jwf issue, however, I will still ask. > > > > When I open Outlook, jaws says "unread) when standing on a specific > message. > When I navigate away from the message, and return to it, jaws doesn't say > "unread" anymore.
