I just learned that you can suspend it within the program. If you left click
on it in the task bar it brings up some options. One is to suspend. It will
automatically come back when the computer is restarted.

this is not a good idea. any corrupted drivers and settings would be
transfered over to the new computer. and if you have a virus this would be
transfered over too.

You could use a program like Laplink PcMover to migrate a lot of stuff
from
your old pc to a new one; it will transfer all your data and many
different
programs. Some programs, like Microsoft Office, may transfer but you'd
only

need to enter the activation number or product key.

Supposedly, if you do an in-place upgrade, which is the procedure you are
proposing, theoretically, you won't lose your data or programs. But,
you'd

need to have a backup, because, there's no guaranty when you do that
in-place upgrade.

But, I would think that you would be confront the same difficulty you
currently have, because an In-place repair will probably only use stock
network drivers, and you're saying the network driver for your card is no
longer available.

If you want to use your same programs and pc, you might consider a
usb-to-ethernet adapter.

First I really do not want to purchase a new machine at this time. The
problem that I have with my network drivers microsoft can not correct. The
computer is a 2009 machine running win 7 32 bit. The corrupted driver can
not be updated or reinstalled. the manufacturer no longer has a 32 bit
driver on their web site. One thing that I am not sure of is if I could
use
my origional 32 bit windows install to run a repair and keep all of my
files

and programs. If that would work I would go that way. Microsoft is willing
to create a product key and download the 64 bit os and install it on my
machine.I hate to go through the work to reinstall programs and try to
recover product keys and all emails on the new os. Now for me it would be
the same amount of work if I purchased a new desktop.

Re: [JAWS-Users] unchecky

2017-11-06 Thread Mike B.
Hi Lenny,

Go to the Control Panel, & press the letter, A, until you have
Administrative Tools highlighted, & press enter.
2. Press the letter, S, until you have Services highlighted, & press enter.
Wait a couple of seconds for Services to populate, 1 time into the list
of services.
3. Press the letter, U, until you have Unchecky highlighted, press enter,
tab to, Start-up type, down arrow to, Disable, tab to, Okay, & press enter.
Alt + F4 until you have control panel closed. You can try the manual
setting to see if that'll keep Unchecky from running in the Task Manager.

Now remember to go back & start it up again whenever you need it.
Take care. Mike. Dodgers, try again next year!

Since windows was repaired, unchecky is no longer listed in the task

when you are installing something?I like to have the computer as vanilla as
possible when doing a backup.
