[JAWS-Users] Jaws on a portable thumb drive?

2018-01-05 Thread Adam Morris

Hi all,

I realise with NVDA you can have it on a portable thumb drive and run it
on a pc without any intrusion from what I understand.

Is there a way to do the same thing with Jaws?

Looking at further study and no point studying Tech support if options
are limited.

If I were to possibly get a job in tech support I could take a USB stick
from machine to machine.

Consider enabling the JAWS braille viewer. Note that you do not need to have
a braille display for this to work, but if you do have a braille display,
both can be used together.

Hi folks. I need to be doing this soon, while using a web application. By
default, JAWS does not even show the position of the virtual cursor, which
means a sighted person would have a hard time following my
navigation/reading/etc. However, I found the option in settings to highlight
the virtual cursor, which I think should help. Is there anything else anyone
feels I should be aware of? I explained that the virtual buffer reformats
pages in non-screen layout already.

Thanks.

Hi, I have Windows 7. the word pad is located in the Accessories folder. I
go to my desktop, press the windows key and then hit enter on the "all
programs" and hit "a" till it comes to Accessories and then arrow right to
open it and arrow down until you reach word pad. You can then make a
shortcut for it if you like. Judy & Libby

I'm using windows 10, but mine is at:
C:\Program Files\windows nt\accessories

The path should automatically be reachable from your run dialog box. So hit
windos-key+r, then type "wordpad".

Not 100% sure how the search box works in Windows 7, but if you search your
c drive for wordpad.exe, and then use "open file location" from the context
menu on that result, you will be able to see the full path.

The easiest way is to type Wordpad intoCortana and active the desktop app.
To avoid this in the future, right click on the desktop app, arrow down to
Open File Location and then bring down the Wordpad's shortcut properties.
Once in the dialogue, tab over to the shortcut key edit box and type in the
letter you'd like. Thisway, you'll never again lose Wordpad.

Re: [JAWS-Users] [jaws] ms helpline

2018-01-05 Thread Chris Judge
Hi. One of my clients called the ms disability help desk a couple of days
ago looking for help with windows live mail. He was told that they couldn't
help him as they no long support WLM. Let me know if you are able to get
help with this.
