[JAWS-Users] Removing spam events in Outlook 2010

2018-02-04 Thread Kurt Miller
Hi all,

I am getting all types of spam events coming up in my Outlook 2010 calendar
from my attached gmail account. I do not open these and have not opened the
emails they have came from. Can anyone help me figure out how to stop this
once and for all? All I can do is dismiss or have it remind me later. The
calendar is loaded with these and I can't take it anymore.

Any and all help and suggestions are grately appreciated. Thanks in advance
for all,

Kurt

[JAWS-Users] JAWS & Making Macros or Templates, Maybe?

2018-02-04 Thread Mike B.
Hi All,

Running Windows 7 Pro, Jaws 16 thru J2018, & Office 2010.

What I am wanting to do is to be able to paste 1 page over the top of
another in this format. I have trivia questions that I send out with
answers, There are 15 questions with 15 answers. I would like for the
questions to have 6 blank lines between them. i.e, Question #1 would be on
line #1, Q #2 would be on line #7, Q #3 would be on line #13

This way when I paste the answers over the top of the questions, with the
answers being of a simlar format, but using different line numbers. i.e,
Answer #1 would be on line #4, A #2 would be on #10, A #3 would be on line
#16..., all the way through for the 15 questions & answers..

Using this presumed format each line of text, either a question or answer,
would have 2 blank lines separating them. Is there a macro or template
available that will do this? If not, can someone give me instructions on
how to create such a macro or template?
All help will be greatly appreciated & graciously accepted. Thank y'all
very much.

Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool.

Nope, no conversion is necessary; as I pointed out and Mike D also pointed
out, you can move your MP3 files directly to the automatically add to iTunes
folder.

first of all, you will need to convert the .mp3 files to .mp4 files for
them to work with an Iphone. once that's done, all you need to do is to
connect your Iphone to your computer and start itunes and select your
iphone in itunes and copy and paste the ringtones from your computer and
paste them in to itunes. itunes will place them on to your iphone as
ringtones.

Re: [JAWS-Users] question about sounds.

2018-02-04 Thread JM Casey
Sounds like either a driver issue or that something is slowing down the
computer to the point where digital playback is being interfered with. The
latter does happen on my new-ish machine running Windows 10 from time to
time. It's usually something like a faulty script running in the web browser
causing a massive system slowdown. You should try and see if this happens at
all without any programme windows open. Definitely have any IT people in the
family have a look. There might be some invasive background processes
running that need to be killed.

Are your sound drivers up to date? You should be able to check this in
"control panel", "manage sound devices". Look for the properties button,
probably under the "general" tab.

But all the sounds go very gargly and lots of reverb.
After a reboot all is good.
But its driving me crazy it just happens at any time.
Running latest win 10.
I have not had this happen on any other machine.
I was thinking it might be a sound driver problem.
ut i have checked that its the up to date driver.

2018-02-04 Thread Mike B.
Hi prateek dujari,

Below is a tutorial from Rick Justice for an older version, but hopefully it
will get you going in the right direction. A more complete tutorial by Jim
flusche will follow in a 2nd reply.

These instructions were written for ITunes version 12.5.4.42, using Jaws
version 16,
on Windows 7 Home Premium.

Once ITunes has been configured to automatically sync with your phone when
connected , follow these steps to move music or ring tones to your phone:
Music:
NOTE: Make sure that the files you select are not .wav format,
While the IPhone will play these files, they are far too large to transfer
to the phone since they will rapidly use up available space on the phone.
.mp3 would be a better choice,.

1. Select individual songs or or an album folder, and copy it to the
clipboard.
2. Press enter on your user folder name shortcut on the Desktop.
3. Once in your user folder, locate your Music folder and press enter.
4. From within your Music folder, press the letter I to move to the iTunes
folder, then press enter to open it.
5. Press the letter I again to locate the iTunes Media folder, then press
enter to open it.
6. The first folder in this list is:
Automatically Add to iTunes,
so press the spacebar to select the folder, then press enter to open it.
7. Paste your selections from the clipboard here.
Note: If pasting individual files, I would make sure that none of the file
names are the same or have like track numbers in the file name.
8. Once you have pasted your files here you can close the folder with Alt
F4.
9. Now, from the Desktop press enter on the iTunes shortcut, to open the
iTunes program.
10. Once iTunes has loaded, plug your phone into your computer, and syncing
should begin.
When syncing has finished, you should hear a tone.
Now check your Music app on your phone to make sure the songs are there.

The process for moving ring tones to your phone are the same as above,
making sure that the files you are using for ring tones are of the correct
format,(.m4r) and no longer than 30 seconds in length.
No matter what format your original file is, you will need to convert it to
M4A first.
To convert files to the proper format, do the following:
1. Open Pazera Free Audio Extractor Portable, and press enter on
theAudioExtractor.exe.
2. Next, once the program has opened, press the Alt key, and right arrow to
the File List menu, then arrow to "Add files to list", and press enter.
3. This will place you in a standard "Open", dialogue where you can browse
for your files.
4. Once you have found your file, or files, then tab to the "OPEN" button
and spacebar it.
5. Now, you will be in a dialogue for choosing your output format, and your
file or files should be selected, so tab once to choose the format.
6. Arrow to m4a, then presss the Alt key to open the menus, and select
"convert checked files", from the file menu, and press enter.
The conversion process will start, and Jaws should announce the progress.
7. When conversion has completed, you can close the program with Alt F4.
8. Go to the folder where your original file is located and you should find
your converted file or files.
9. Once you have located your files, you will need to change the file
extension, by doing the following:
A. With the file name highlighted, press the F2 key to rename the file.
B. Now, move to the end of the file name, and delete the "A", from the end
of the file extension, and replace it with the letter "R" and press enter to
close the dialogue.
Do this for each file you want to use.
10. Finally, use the steps above for moving music to your phone to move your
ring tones.

Re: [JAWS-Users] question about sounds.

2018-02-04 Thread Sharon S
Hi, funny you mention this. The same thing has been happening for me on my
brand new Acer laptop. I'm running windows 10 and jaws 2018, as far as I
know everything is up to date. I was going to ask my IT brother to have a
look at it when he has a free minute but since you have mentioned it here I
will be interested to see if anyone has any suggestions. My older laptop is
also an Acer running windows 10 but I have only put jaws 18 on it. The older
machine has no issues with sounds.

Hope we can get some answers.

Hi guys i have noticed on 1 of my laptops the sound goes silly some times.
Its not a screen reader issue.
AAny ideas thanks.Michael.

Re: [JAWS-Users] J2018 & Start-up

2018-02-04 Thread Mike B.
Hi Fernando,

I tried that as well, but the only thing that got J2018 to start at start-up
was uninstalling & reinstalling. I didn't waste my time with a repair, so I
don't know if that would have helped, but it seems like repairs have been a
personal waste of time lately. Thank you very much for your input.

Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool.

In Control Panel, go to Ease of Access Center. Do not use WINDOWS+U
keystroke, because in Windows 10 it opens the Ease of Access category in the
new Settings App.
In the Ease of Access Center Control Panel applet, go to the Use the
Computer Without a Display link, and there check the JAWS version you want
to start automatically after login on with your user.

Hope it helps!

Subject: [JAWS-Users] J2018 & Start-up

Howdy All,

I'm running Widows 10 Creator latest with J16 thru J2018. I can get any of
the versions of Jaws to start at start-up except for J2018. I've made sure
that all the start-up options are turned off in the Jaws context menu /
Options / Basics & the Start-up Wizard in J16 thru J18, & made sure all
start-up options are turned on in both the Jaws context menu & Start-up
Wizard in J2018, but it just won't start at boot-up, restart, or start-up.
After I invoke my J2018 kestroke to get it started, & I check my settings in
the Jaws context menu / Options / Basics, they're turned off!

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you fix it? All help will
be greatly appreciated. Thanks mooy moocho.

Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool.

My accu weather page was giving me problems loading. Just kicks I entered my
zip code into duckduckgo search. Here is the link that then came up:
 https://duckduckgo.com/?q=17901+weather=hf=weather#
change my zip code 17901 to yours and you get a quick nice report.
