Why not just put parental controls on your router.
You can set you and/or your girlfriend as administrators so only you can

[JAWS-Users] need help using jaws tandem

2018-03-04 Thread Mike Bernard
Hi everyone,
I'm helping someone to solve a minor problem and I'm using Jaws Tandem to
gain access to their computer. However, at the point where I'm supposed to
receive the special code to which I have to give the other person so that
they can create the connection, I keep getting an error message that says,
"Meeting not allowed. The cereal number is not allowed to connect. Please
contact customer service for assistance." This is the first time that either
of us have ever tried using Jaws tandem so we're not all that familiar with
it. Have any of you ever received this error message when trying to connect
to someone's computer via tandem? Why is jaws giving me this message? Any
help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks.

ResearchIt gets its results from the website in question. If the website
alters the way it functions, Researchit will not play with it. Results with
ResearchIt are not really guaranteed. It's a nice little tool but depending
on it is probably unwise. Luckily it doesn't do anything we can't do with
our web browsers or even other apps.

There are native Windows features you can use to block certain sites. I've

as "parental controls". You could look into those.

Tell us which version of Windows, and which internet browser you are using,
and we can be of more help.
I believe Windows 7 has some parental controls built-in, and you can always
check the history of your internet browser.
Another option, and maybe the best, is to setup a restricted user account on
the computer for her to use.
Just a few thoughts!

Hi Robin,

I have been experimenting with the, *, dictionary tweak, & Jaws only
reported UnReconciled when typing a password if I tweaked the Default JDF
dictionary manager, but not when I tweaked the Word JDF dictionary manager.
The Word JDF dictionary manager was my experimental application.

But, if I changed the tweak to,* , a star then a space, in the default JDF
dictionary manager, then used a space after the star in the Word application
JDF dictionary then everything worked as it should all the way around.

What I'm trying to say is if you want the,*, to say, UnReconciled in a home
budgit, then add a space after the star in the application dictionary, but
then you'll also have to put a star then a space in front of any entry in
the application as well.

If I've totally confused you by now, just let the list know what application
you want to use, & I'll type up a set of steps that'll get it done for you.

Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool.

The reason for that is the system substitutes your password for a series of

Mike that works which I want, the only thing is when I open the program,
when i am typing in the password it is saying UnReconciled.
I am sure there is a way of fixing that!

Hi Robin,

To edit the dictionary you're wanting, try the following:
1. Open the application you want to work with, & press, Insert / Jaws key +
D, to open that application's dictionary manager.
2. You should be on the, Add... button, so press the spacebar to open.
Press your backspace key a couple of times to make sure any text that might
be here is deleted.
3. Type the, * , star symbol. Now I'm assuming you're meaning the star
symbol you get by typing, Shift + 8, on the number row above the main
keyboard.
4. Tab to, Replacement Word, press the spacebar to open, enter the
replacement text, UnReconciled in a home budgit.
5. Tab to, Okay, press enter, press, Control + S, to save, & Alt +F4, to
close.
If this doesn't work let us know what happened. Using the above steps it
worked on my Windows 7 Pro computer.

Take care. Mike. Sent from my iBarstool.

When I Choose Customize Punctuation it says
This setting is only available in the Default/All Applications
Is there anyway you can do it just for one program.
I just want to change one individual punctuation to say something in one

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Instacart

I hope this is an appropriate topic. I am trying to sign up for Instacart
for my food shopping needs. The website is slow and does not work all that
well with JAWS.

I thought the problem was my system until I tried it at work with the same
result. Any thoughts?

At home, I am on JAWS 17 and Windows 10. At work, I am not sure as I am
working at someone else's desk while I am supporting another office.
