How do you create a new folder in your c: drive in win 10? I have been
looking around for about the last 45 minutes.

There's also a "new" item in the context menu, and you can create a new
folder from there. But indeed, ctrl-shift-n is the fastest way.

Re: [JAWS-Users] convert ex drive from fat32 to ntfs?

2018-07-05 Thread JM Casey
I have probably close to a terabyte of music on my hard drives, and I try to
back it up semi-regularly, and have never run into problems copying so much
data.

However, you can actually convert the drive without reformatting it,
apparently. I say "apparently" because I haven't actually tried it. But
Windows has a command for this. It's called "convert" and you run it from
the command prompt. So open up an administrative command prompt and type
this:
Convert e: /fs:ntfs

Where e: is of course whatever drive letter you end up with.

As I've never done this before, my instinct would still be to copy the files
to a folder on your hd anyway as a backup.

My grandson has an ex drive without about 200 gb of data stored on a fat32
drive. He needs it to be converted to ntfs. My win 10 laptop has more than
enough hd space. I first thought about trying to copy his ex drive to a new
folder on my lap top. Then reformat his drive and copy everything back. I
also thought about trying to use image for windows to back up his ex drive
and then restore it to the reformatted unit. I am not sure if a simple copy
of what will be the d drive to the new folder would be the best. With that
much data could it get clobbered?

Re: [JAWS-Users] editing a signature in Outlook 2013

2018-07-05 Thread David Whitehead
give this a whirl;

1, alt+f=file,

2, t=options,

3, down arrow to mail,

4, alt+n=compose messagess,/signatures,

now depending on how many signatures you have,
you then press alt+t=edit signature,
note, after you,
alt+f, t=options,
m=mail, alt+n=signature, press enter, you should be placed into a signature
body, if you tab once you should see ok button.

oops, you may not see nothing if you deleted the signature.

At work, I am running Windows 7, Jaws 2018 and Outlook 2013.

I want to edit my signature, I go to the file sub menu, options, mail,
choose the signature I want to edit and then I am stuck. I can't get to the
signature. Jaws says edit this and that, but I never get to the signature.
I am ready to take a jump off the Fort Henry bridge!

And now I have removed my signature all together!

Have a great day,

Re: [JAWS-Users] Help with creating fillable forms in Word 2010

2018-07-05 Thread Brian Vogel
Mike,

I have never found a method that allows you to go straight from a
fillable form in MS-Word to its equivalent in PDF. All the converters I've
tried just convert to a straight PDF without the form fields.

There might be something out there, though, and a little web
searching might uncover it. Try searching on, "Microsoft Word Fillable
form to PDF fillable form" and see what pops up.

If such does not exist then you'd need to create it with a PDF
editor that supports form fields.
